"You don't have to make it sound so easy to get over if I died or something." He frowned. "I suppose I could at least watch as a ghost though.." He nodded with a slight grin. He continued to move around the house, pointing out anything useful.

Mel looked up and watched Harry for a moment and raised her eyebrow. Maybe you should talk about something.. "So um..." She started. "What..do you do when school isn't in session...?"

She shuddered and made a face. "The ghost thing is a little creepy... I mean.. they can watch you do everything and you can't make them go away...."

"Huh? oh, well... I live with my aunt and uncle.. and basically just try to stay out of their way to keep out of trouble..."

He looked down at her and raised his eyebrow. "Have some bad experiences before with ghosts? Something you and Mel aren't telling us?" He eyed her a little.

Mel shifted a little, keeping her mouth shut. There were a few things she really wanted to tell him but knew she couldn't. "That doesn't sound very fun. Maybe we could..hangout or something..."

"Just a general observation of the whole spectral experience... I mean, they can go through walls and you can't exactly push them out of the way... walking through them just seems rude, but, the whole lack or privacy thing is a bit unnerving. I mean come on, if you were a ghost you'd totally use that ability to spy on people..."

He grinned broadly. "I'd like that. Any reason to get out of the house really. my family is rather unbearable...."

"At least most of the ghosts at the school never actually go anywhere...to bad." He nodded a bit. It was a bit creepy if you thought about it. "Of course I would use it to spy on people, wouldn't you? It would be great for pranks! I could never get in trouble."

Mel smiled shyly and nodded. It was hard to ask him questions she already knew the answer to. She pulled her knees up to her chest, resting her chin on her knees. "I would like to hang out. We can cause trouble together."

He smirked slightly. "Me? Cause trouble? Not likely..."

She rolled her eyes. "How would you do that if you couldn't touch anything?"

"You're going to have to keep a close eye on me then. I always find myself getting into trouble." She grinned and sat up straight.

"I'm a master pranker. I would find a way. If anything I'd give George ideas. You don't need to worry about that. I'd always find a way to prank."

She rolled her eyes. "Well thank god for that." She stuck out her tongue. "Heavens forbid you can't prank anymore."

"You do? Maybe I should stay away from you then." He chuckled.

"That would break my heart..not being able to prank anymore. Besides..my life would be so boring then. You can't really deny that."

"You wouldn't try to save me at all then?" She stuck her tongue out. "Some knight you are..though I think I'd save you more often then you'd save me. So I'd be your knight."

"It would be boring, but I'd hope that your only reason to haunt around wouldn't be to prank.. wouldn't you turn into a poltergeist...?"

"I'm a wizard, not a knight.... Ron was a knight once.. even if it was in a chess game.... what makes you so sure I'm the one that'll need saving?"

"Of course not! I would still hang around you all. You can't get rid of me that easily." He laughed a bit and leaned down, kissing her cheek. "You hungry or anything? Did your stomach settle enough to eat?"

"You're the one who told me you get into trouble to." She blinked and tilted her head. "So you wouldn't want to be my knight? You could be my wizard~"

She laughed softly. "I don't know if that's sweet or creepy...Hmm, I could eat something I guess."

He paused hearing her say it and glanced away, his cheeks darkening slightly before he cleared his throat. "Uh, sure. I can do that..."

"Let's just pretend it was sweet." He smiled and lead her towards the kitchen to find her something to eat. "You in the mood for anything? We have a lot of Christmas cookies made so far. Mom's been baking up a storm."

She laughed and looked at the ground. "Sorry...I didn't mean it to sound awkward..or make you embarrassed." She lifted her head back up and looked to him, smiling.

Christmas breaks went by fast like all break do. It felt like just yesterday they were on the train heading away from Hogwarts. Now they were back on the train heading back to the school. Mel placed her chin in her hand, staring out the window. She watched the train slowly pull out of the station. They had a nice time with the Weasley's on break. It was nice of them to allow the two to stay there. She looked over at D who was sitting with Fred..or George. She couldn't always tell the twins apart. She just knew one of them was there and the other was sitting with Ron and Hermione. She shifted in her seat and looked over at the hallway, watching the last minute passengers find seats.

Harry looked out the window, adjusting his body to get comfortable it was a long ride back. He stretched his arms over his head, relaxing and placed his arms on the back of the seat. the fact that his arm went behind Mel's head and over her shoulder nonchalantly had nothing to do with the motion, maybe.

D yawned softly, there were quite a few mishaps with the mistletoe, none of which had gone how she would have liked. She wiggled in her seat a bit to crack her back before settling back down, leaning against Fred. George had sort of backed off, aside from the occasional snuggling when it had gotten cold, she figured the whole sharing the girlfriend thing wasn't really going how he had planned and was slowly working his way out of the situation. She didn't mind, it made her feel a bit less awkward favoring one over the other. How did parents do it?

Mel listened to the girls chat, not paying attention to much until she felt something on her shoulder. Her eyes wandered down to Harry's arm around her shoulder. She blinked and looked up at him, raising an eyebrow as she chuckled a little, not minding much at all. At least she had a pillow now in case she wanted to nap.

Fred occasionally chatted with his brothers and Hermione, letting D rest since she seemed a little tired. He looked down at her and smiled. He spoke with his twin and discussed everything. It was a little awkward of a conversation at first. They eventually talked it out and it was much less awkward now.

She didn't freak out, that was good. He smiled to himself and relaxed, at least she wasn't flat our rejecting him. Today was a good day.

She rested against him, letting her eyes close as she listened to the chatter. It was nice to feel normal after everything that had happened, but they were going back, no doubt there was all sorts of trouble just waiting for them. She gave a soft sigh, forcing herself to relax a bit more. She almost wished she didn't have to go back to school. It wasn't the work that bothered her, it was that they weren't meant to be there, and they couldn't very well fix anything that was bound to happen, right? Could today get any worse?

Mel yawned a little and rested her head against Harry's arm, closing her eyes. She nuzzled his shoulder and rubbed her head. Something just felt off, like the girls were worried about something. She figured since they didn't tell her, it wasn't anything major.

Fred gently stroked the back of her head and smiled, letting her rest against him. He looked over at Harry and raised his eyebrow, looking between the two people across from him and grinned.

She mumbled softly, her eyes still closed. "No. you leave them alone...." She tilted her head up, opening her eyes slightly as she looked up at him. "Of I'm going to punch you in the face." She gave another yawn and settled back down against him, a happy little smile on her face."

He froze for a second then smiled, his lightly draped arm tightened it's hold on her a bit before he stroked her head gently.

"......Potter..."

"Oh hell no..."

"I wasn't doing anything..I was just observing.." He looked down at her and blinked. "I was being good..." He looked over at Harry and then back down at D. He looked over at the door when they all heard an unwelcomed voice.

Her cheeks flushed a little when his hand stroked the back of her head. Once she heard Malfoy and opened and eye and groaned, lifting her head up. "Ugh.."

He scoffed and crossed his arms, ignoring the girls.

"What do you want Malfoy?"

"To kill the mood obviously...." She muttered under her breath and shifted to get up.

"Yeah..what do you want?" Mel sat up and fixed her hair a bit since it fluffed out laying on Harry's shoulder.

"Obviously to see how normal people spend a train ride with their friends. Maybe he wants to take notes?" Fred shook his head and looked down at D. "I wouldn't waste your time. If we ignore him he'll just go away.

She frowned, glancing from her friends and then to the annoying pale Slytherin and settled back into the seat cautiously, still eying the boy with suspicion.

"Have a good holiday Potter? Have all the rotten food and dirt you could eat at the Weaslebee's?"

"Go away..."

Fred turned his head away, paying more attention to D then to the annoying blond standing in the doorway of their little cabin. He rolled his eyes at the comment and shook his head. He had better insults before. Malfoy must have been losing his touch.

Mel twitched slightly and rubbed her forehead, gaining a headache. Mostly from the more outspoken girls inside of her mind but part of it was the Draco. "Just leave, ok? Isn't there something else on this train you can go harass?"

"I don't have to listen to you... you freak... I don't know what you are exactly but you're no witches..."

"Jealous much? Go whine to your friends, oh wait, you don't have any..."

He smirked slightly. It wasn't far from the truth, it seemed his 'friends' were only his friends out of pettiness or fear.

His eyebrow twitched.

"People that you pay don't count as friends..or if you scare them. Not quite sure what they have to fear...but.." He shrugged.

Mel twitched slightly and stood up. "Back off, blondie. I am not in the mood for you."
