"Correct." Loki's teeth flashed in a grin. "We'll start with him, since he is similar to your sister. See if you can plant a little suggestion. Something small, something he wouldn't object to normally. Be gentle about it, he might notice if you are overly forceful."

Amy took a moment to go through what she knew about Tony. Then, gently, she slipped into his mind. She didn't touch anything, but instead planted a small suggestion.

Go upstairs and check the coffee maker.

Then she blinked and glanced at Loki. "Done."

Loki nodded. "Very good. If he comes storming out here, we'll know he felt. Otherwise, we'll see if he responds."

Amy nodded. A few minutes later, the elevator opened and Tony walked out. He went into the kitchen, and he came out a few minutes later with a mug of coffee.

Loki looked over at her, raising his eyebrows to see if that was the result she wanted.

Amy nodded.

"I didn't tell him to get a coffee, but I guess that was just normal for him. I said to come up and check the coffee machine."

"For him that means get coffee," Loki said dryly. "He goes through a lot of coffee."

Amy nodded.

"I wasn't surprised it worked," she said. "I've planted suggestions before. Not in someone so strong-willed, of course, but still."

"Good, you're not totally without practice, then." Loki tilted his head to the side. "We can practice your skills with planting ideas, or we can work on something else."

"Either is fine," Amy replied. She didn't care what she worked on.

Loki's smile widened. "Well then. One option is to work on implanting ideas and images in peoples' minds. Images are harder."

Amy hesitated, but nodded.

"I've had to do that before," she said. "It's harder, but not impossible if you use a bit of imagination."

"We'll work on that," Loki decided. Because he loved screwing with people and it was actually good training.

Amy raised an eyebrow.

"Am I going to be practicing on the Avengers?" she asked. "If I am, I want to warn them. Planting suggestions is one thing, but inducing hallucinations is something else entirely."

Loki waved a hand. "Very well, warn whoever you would like to practice on," he said.

Amy nodded and got up, going to venture through the tower to find someone willing to let her practice on them.

Loki was pleased with her progress, once she found someone to practice on. She had a good talent for it, she just needed the control. Then she'd be a force to be reckoned with.

Amy had eventually gotten one of the others to let her practice on them, although she was a little wary about doing so. Planting images wasn't difficult, although she was exhausted by the end of practice and went to lay down for a nap to try to stave off the threatening headache.

By the time Amy went to go nap, all the kittens cuddling in with her since clearly it was always naptime, Lea had decided she needed to get out of the tower. She was annoyed at the world in general, because apparently it was just one of those days. So she headed out of the tower to go find somewhere else to hang out for a while.

It was just about a week later that Tony finally got fed up with the tower again and decided to head out to Malibu for a while. His house there had finally been rebuilt, and he just felt like getting away for a while. And, oddly, he wanted someone to go with him. Bruce, predictably, politely refused, and Tony wasn't about to bring the other Avengers to Malibu just yet, so that left one other choice.

"Hey," he said when he saw Lea in the lab. "Feel like going out to Malibu?"

Lea blinked and turned to look at him. "Beg your pardon?" she asked, a tool still in hand. She had been working on a project, although she'd gotten used to Tony's impromptu appearances.

"Malibu," Tony said. "Come on, keep up, I hate repeating myself. Do you want to go or not? Because I don't know about you, but spending too long here is going to make me stir-crazy, and Brucie managed to wiggle out of the invite somehow. I have to figure out how so I can make that stop, but still. Malibu? Yes? No?"

"Let me check with Amy. If you don't want her coming, let me at least know where I'll be. Otherwise, yes." Lea paused. "Although I do have to ask: why me? Last I checked you were sulking on the other side of the lab and you were still mad at me."

"Go do what you need to do, we're leaving in a few hours," Tony said, waving a hand. "Ten-eight-eighty Malibu Point. And I told you, Bruce ducked the invite. I need someone who can understand when I talk."

Lea rolled her eyes and got up, leaving her project on her desk. "Fine, I'll be ready by then," she said, stretching out briefly. "Jarvis, will you let me know at least five minutes before he's ready to leave?"

"Of course, Miss Winters." Jarvis sounded amused.
