Lea nodded and started to pack up. This time around, she found she was more eager to get back. Not just to see Darling, though. She was a bit anxious to get back to Tony, something that should worry her more than it actually did, which was worrying in and of itself.
Amy helped with the packing, making sure to catch anything Lea missed. She was looking forward to going back; the quiet was nice, but somehow she found herself starting to miss Loki's company.
Lea started driving once they were all packed, and somehow managed to make the trip in seven and a half hours. Yay speeding. Especially since she didn't get caught by any cops.
"Well, now we just have to haul everything upstairs again," she said with a little huff as she parked the car back in its appropriate place in SI's parking lot. |
"There are three ways to accomplish this," Amy pointed out as she got out of the car and stretched. "Haul it ourselves, get one of the Avengers to help, or acquire our own little group of packmules." She grinned slightly, teasing.
Lea snickered. "Well, let's take some of it up, and we can get someone else to haul the rest up for us. Tony has minions for this, after all."
Amy nodded, grabbing her things and starting to head upstairs.
Tony had already been alerted that the girls were back, and he was debating whether or not to meet them downstairs or wait for them to come up to the livable floors. Both options had their pros and cons, and really, it was Lea he wanted to see again. |
Lea headed up to their rooms as well, having grabbed about half of the remaining things to take up.
Loki didn't have such problems as Tony did, and he had no problems showing some affection to Amy openly. So he went down to meet them and take some of Amy's things for her. "Have a nice time?" he asked mildly, taking a few of Amy's bags. |
"It was nice," Amy replied, turning a bit pink as he took her bags. "Quiet. It felt good not to have the pressure of the rest of the world for a little while."
"Indeed." Loki smiled faintly and took the bags up to her room. "Well, hopefully you will be able to stay for a little while longer now."
"We'll see how long it lasts," Amy agreed, still blushing faintly.
Loki nodded. "I'll bring up everything else," he said mildly. "You go settle in and acclimate again."
"I can get the rest, it's not a big deal," Amy protested. She wasn't used to having things done for her without her express desire for it.
"Stay here and entertain your kittens," Loki said. "They have been starved of attention and have been pestering me." Not that he had minded, not really.
"I doubt they're as starved for attention as you say they are," Amy pointed out with a small smile. "I know you like them, so they probably got plenty of love from you while I was gone."
"Some of them, yes," Loki agreed. "However, the kittens that seem to belong to your sister as little terrors and they do not like me nearly as much."
Amy couldn't help but laugh a little.
"I'm not surprised," she said. "She tended towards the more... rambunctious kittens. I ended up with the more cuddly three." |
Loki made a face. "Well she needs to take care of them. And Stark. He has become nearly unbearable. Nearly."
Amy grinned a bit.
"Well, we're back now," she said. "So everyone will be taken care of again." |
"Good." Loki went to go Amy's things from the car so she could start settling in.
Lea, meanwhile, had dumped her things in her room and only had a few things to go get. So she decided to check in on Tony first. |
Tony was still in the workshop, although he wasn't tinkering so much as pacing, with Darling following him around. As soon as he heard the door open, he stopped and looked over.
"There you are," he said. "I was starting to wonder if you got lost on the way down, it took you long enough." |
"Nah, we just had too much stuff to bring up in one trip," Lea said, grinning when Darling let out an excited squeak and zoomed over to her to be picked up. "And then Amy and Loki were having a Moment so I had to avoid that."
Tony made a bit of a face.
"She can do better," he said. "Enough about them. You took entirely too long to come back, this is unacceptable, you're not allowed to leave like that again, I'm definitely going to have some sort of cabin built for you to go to instead of that horrific excuse for a recreational vehicle, no more of this 'camping' nonsense." |
"So instead of camping it will be glamping your style, huh?" Lea teased with a little smirk. "That kind of defeats the purpose, I go to get away from technology, not be in a Stark-built cabin that will be decked out six ways from Sunday."
"There's nothing wrong with my kind of camping," Tony replied. "Nothing at all. And really, you're assuming I wouldn't take that into consideration, I'm wounded you think so little of me, honestly. I can so design a tech-free cabin."
"Ha! I bet not. You can't design a tech-free anything, tech is what you do," Lea said with a smirk. "You made a toaster and a coffee pot sentient, you can't do anything non-tech."
