"I can't leave you behind," Amy said. "I won't."

"It would be easier if you got the others to find this place and burn it all to the ground," Lea said. "I can't get out, not on my own, and I can take whatever abuse they throw my way."

"We can burn this place to the ground by ourselves," Amy pointed out. "I can light it up and walk out without a scratch. According to the latest version specs, I could probably even take a few bullets and be okay. But I don't know what else they may have in place to keep us here." She was quiet for a moment. "I can't feel any of them. Can't get into their heads. It's like they're not there."

"I know how you feel. I can't feel any tech here. I mean, I know they have it, I saw radios and phones and things, but I can't feel it." Lea leaned against Amy.

"I think they did something to us," Amy murmured, leaning against her sister in return. "Something that strips the virus down to its basic programing."

"Which is very, very scary," Lea muttered. "Hypothetically, they could rebuild it however they wanted, if they can figure out how."

"Which is what they need us for," Amy said. "We're the last successful ones left."

"I can do it," Amy murmured. "Torch the place. If I run hot enough, I can do it."

"Yeah, and who knows what the side effects will be?" Lea pointed out. "We don't know what they did to us, we don't know what programming we have. It's not the best idea to test that out now."

Amy had to admit that Lea had a point. Sighing, she settled in next to her sister.
"We'll figure this out," she said.

"We will," Lea agreed quietly. "We'll find a way out of this." She pulled Amy closer, a bit comforted by the closeness.

Amy cuddled with her sister. She kind of wished Loki was around, as well; she felt just as safe with him as she did with Lea.

Lea spent a while wondering if she could jury-rig something to put out a homing beacon for Tony, then dismissed the idea. That would be far too hard without a computer, and she doubted she'd have access to a computer. Not yet, anyway.

Amy contemplated burning her way out of the room again, but decided against it. Even if she did, there was no guarantee they would escape.

Nothing happened for the next several hours. Then the door opened again and a suave-looking man stepped in to talk to them.
Lea's eyes widened a bit when she saw Killian and she gulped quietly.
"Hello, ladies."

Amy's eyes widened, as well, and she scooted backwards a bit. This was Not Good.

"Welcome back," Killian said, still smiling his charming, public-ready smile. "I've been worried about you two. You did vanish after the last research facility was burned down."

Killian flexed his hand, red rippling along his skin. "Yes, well, I'm a little upgraded now, too." He smiled a shark's smile, watching them both.

Amy just watched him, not daring to take her eyes off of him for anything. He was definitely the most dangerous on in the room.
"Why do they need us if you're here?" she asked cautiously.

"Because I can't do the upgrades myself. Not entirely. I don't know all the coding." He looked at Lea. "Which is where you come in. And you," he looked at Amy, "will be helping me keep people in line later on."

"No, I get to use this facility because the military still thinks a super soldier is a good idea."

"There's only ever been one successful result," she said cautiously.
