Lavender made a face.

"Lovely," she said. "That makes things fun." She shook her head. "I hate dealing with strange magics."

"This is why I'm going to go talk to Loki, much as I don't want to. Tricky little son of a bitch likes to lie."

"I have some truth serum in my kit," Lavender offered after a moment. "Although I have no idea whether or not it will work on gods, especially a god known for epic lies."

"Probably not," Tony said with a snort. "We can try it though. See if it helps any."

"I'll go and get it, then," Lavender said. Taking her sandwich with her, she headed upstairs quickly to root around in her Auror kit before pulling out a small potion vial. It was filled with a swirling silvery potion, and the label on the outside read 'Veritaserum'. Then she went back to meet Tony.

"Isn't your friend like a living lie detector or something?" Tony asked, looking down at a tablet. There was a cup of coffee next to him, somehow magically full again.

"Not necessarily," Lavender replied. "She's empathic, but it's not foolproof. She can tell if someone is nervous about something, or if they're feeling anything else that might be related to lying, but she can't outright call out a liar." Taking out her phone, she texted Lessa anyways. She figured her partner might want in on an interrogation, if it happened.

Lessa texted her back saying she'd meet them in the hallway outside Loki's suite.

Tony grumbled a bit but picked up his coffee. "Well, may as well get this done," he muttered.

"Lessa says she'll meet us there," Lavender said as she followed him.

Tony nodded and led the way down to the suite silently, glancing over at Lessa briefly before he ushered everyone inside.

Loki looked up when he heard the door open.

"And to what do I owe this intrusion?" he asked smoothly, glancing between the three of them.

"We need to ask you a few questions." Tony glanced at the two girls before he shrugged. "Jarvis, play the clip." He waited for Loki to absorb the clip of the guy using the Norse magic to escape.

Loki watched, seeming disinterested.

"And what, pray, does this have to do with me?" he asked as the clip ended.

"You know what it means, at least," Tony said, his eyes narrowing a bit. "You might even know how he got that spell."

"Perhaps," Loki agreed. "But I ask again: what does this have to do with me?"

"You're the only person that has any idea, so you're going to tell me all about this. You can make things easy and just tell me." Tony raised his eyebrows.

"And why should I do that?" Loki asked. "What have I to gain from such a course?" His eyes flickered to the girls and back. "What will you do should I refuse, set your pet sorceress and her medium on me?"

"No, I'll just have to test and find out what will make you talk." Tony wasn't above some less than legal means of making Loki talk.

"Tony," Lavender murmured. Cast-down god or not, Lavender wasn't sure she approved of Loki being tortured for information.

"What? I was just going to try the Veritaserum," Tony protested.

Lessa almost snorted but managed not to. Instead she looked at Loki. He was a bit harder to read than most humans, which made him interesting.

Lavender gave him something of a flat look, but handed him the little vial.

"That's my entire supply, don't waste it," she murmured.

Loki just watched them, intrigued. He'd heard of the mortals with their so-called truth serum, and he was somewhat interested to see how well it worked. Even if it was on him.

Tony looked at her for a moment before he got a cup of water. "How much?" he asked her quietly. He already knew, but he had to keep up appearances, and he wasn't sure if they should start with a normal amount or try extra on Loki.

"Five or six drops," Lavender said. "Taking into account that at the very least, he isn't human, and is more than likely a god."

Loki just watched them, amused.

Tony nodded and used six drops to be safe before handing the little vial back to Lavender. He handed the glass over to Loki. "You going to drink up or am I going to have to get creative?"

"I shudder to think what would happen should you be forced to get 'creative'," Loki replied, smirking a bit and taking the glass.
