Cas showed up a little while later, looking ruffled and disheveled but unharmed.
"I have warned the other angels to stay away from her," he told Dean. "But they cannot go back to their house. It was destroyed before I could find everyone and tell them to stand down." |
"Destroyed?" Sam asked. "Why would the angels destroy their house? That doesn't make much sense."
"So they cannot return there," Cas said. "It takes time to build warding like they had, and now their stronghold is gone. They will be weaker and more vulnerable now to suggestion or coercing."
"Well, we can't keep 'em in my panic room forever, Cas," Bobby pointed out. "They have to go somewhere."
"Perhaps they should go with you two." Cas looked at Sam and Dean.
"Us? Why should they go with us?" Dean frowned a bit. "You two are... uniquely suited to help them." |
"Hold on a second," Sam said. "You want a half-angel and a half-demon tagging along with us with everything about to go down?" He was quiet for a second. "Actually, it's not that bad of an idea, if you think about it."
Cas nodded slowly, watching Sam for a few moments before looking at Dean.
"Alright," Dean groused. "They can come with us." |
Sam nodded.
"I'll go let them know it's alright to come out of the panic room," he said. With that, he headed downstairs. |
Kyra looked up when she heard the door open and she raised an eyebrow. "Heard back yet?"
"Uh, yeah," Sam said, nodding. "You're good for now. Cas got them to back off."
"Good." Kyra stood and stretched before looking at Runa. "Well, we can probably stay here tonight to get some rest and head out in the morning."
"And plans on where you're headed?" Sam asked cautiously.
"Home, why?" Runa asked, looking at him. When he didn't reply immediately, she pressed, "why?" "I'm sorry," Sam said. "But... The angels burned it down. Cas said there's not much left." |
"They did what?" Kyra demanded, looking shocked. That quickly turned to anger, and her eyes narrowed. "Alright, that's it, they can come get me and I'll shiv them all in turn." A few feathers fluttered around her from out of nowhere.
Sam blinked. She really did throw feathers.
"Yeah, Cas said they were pretty thorough. But you're welcome to come with me and Dean for a while, if you want." |
That stopped the upcoming rage, and Kyra blinked at him. "Come again? Go with you? Like sit in the back of your car and travel around the country?"
"Sure," Sam said. "That is, if you want to. I mean, I know most people don't like traveling much, but it's better than nothing, right?"
Kyra was quiet for a few moments. "We'll talk about it," she said, looking at Runa. "And let you know in the morning." Because this was not a decision that should be made in haste.
Runa nodded her agreement.
"Alright," Sam said. "Well, it's alright to leave the panic room, at least." "Thanks," Runa said. |
Kyra nodded and headed upstairs and outside without a word. She needed to get some air and move around before she started hunting angels, because she knew that would end poorly.
Runa followed her outside without a word. She knew Kyra needed some time to calm down again, and the antichrist couldn't blame her. She wanted to hunt down the angels, too; it had been Runa's home that got burned, too, not just Kyra's.
Kyra just walked around the perimeter of the yard for a while before she stopped.
"I'm sorry," she said quietly. "If you weren't living with me, you would be fine. You wouldn't have to be worrying about any of this, and you'd still have a home." |
"Oh no, don't you start," Runa said. "If I wasn't living with you, I probably would be dead a dozen times by now. And no, I wouldn't have a home, my uncle was killed on a hunt when I was sixteen, remember?"
"Yeah, yeah." Kyra sighed. "But you also wouldn't be dealing with angels. Demons are bad enough."
"They'd have found me eventually," Runa pointed out. "At least now I know how to deal with them." She put an arm around Kyra's shoulders. "Like it or not, you're still stuck with me. And we've got everything important, right?"
"Yeah." Kyra relaxed a bit at that. "We've got all the important stuff." She paused for a moment. "I do owe you half a house, though."
