"Nothing good." Dean frowned, looking at the bathroom for a few moments before he shook his head. "We'll just have to wait and see."
Sam nodded.
Runa came out a while later, dressed in sleep clothes and her skin all pink. "I feel a bit better now," she said, dropping and rosary and can of salt back into her bag. |
"Good." Dean looked at her for a moment. "Well, now you're back, where's your almost-angel buddy?"
"I... I don't know," Runa admitted, sitting down. "She wasn't with me at all. They'd have torn her apart down there. I... kind of hoped she was with you two."
"She vanished the same night you did," Dean said, frowning a bit. "We haven't heard from her, either."
Runa swore viciously under her breath in Latin.
"She must have gone in the opposite direction, then," she said after a moment. "I went down, she must have gone up." |
Dean exchanged a look with Sam. Going up to Heaven could be just as bad.
"Maybe she'll be back soon," Dean offered. |
"Maybe," Runa said. She wasn't convinced.
"Ask Cas?" Sam suggested, looking at Dean. "I mean, if she did go up there, he would know, right? He's been keeping an eye on practically everything." |
Dean nodded. "Oh Cas, we need your help down here," he said, closing his eyes. He peeked briefly before he continued. "We don't know where Kyra is and we need help."
Cas looked at them from across the room. "She's currently safe." |
Runa jumped when he suddenly appeared, swearing briefly. Clearly, she was a bit twitchy around angels from her stint in Hell.
"Where is she, though?" Sam asked. "I mean, Runa's back, so where's Kyra?" |
Cas was silent for a moment, debating how much to tell them. "She is still in Heaven."
"When is she coming back?" Runa asked. "Why hasn't she come back already?"
"She may not have time at current," Cas said with a shrug. "I suspect she will be back on this plane shortly."
Runa glared a bit, but didn't say anything else.
Cas paused and tilted his head. "She's on her way down," he said.
"Where?" Dean sat up straighter, and then swore when Cas just vanished. |
"Damn it, Cas," Sam said as Cas left. "I'm starting to wonder if he knows how to be helpful."
Cas came back with Kyra in tow. She looked a little worse off than Runa, rather pale and still a bit shaky. She basically collapsed onto a bed when Cas dropped her.
Runa immediately went over to her friend.
"Hey," she said softly. "Welcome back. How was it?" |
"Crap," Kyra groaned, keeping her eyes part-way closed. "Raphael's a son of a bitch."
"I've heard," Runa said. She helped her friend sit up. "Some of the heavy hitters in Hell aren't any better to deal with."
"Oh I know." Kyra shrugged. "So, looks like we're both back. And the Winchesters are still alive, it's a miracle."
"Eat me." Dean was still watching Cas, though. The angel hadn't left yet. |
"Go get comfortable," Runa said. "Hot bath or something." She cracked a bit of a grin. "I burned off three layers of skin taking a holy salt water bath, but it was totally worth it."
"I can't even do that, I'd need a few gallons of holy oil." Kyra made a face. "And I'd rather not test that." But she got up and headed into the bathroom anyway.
"Take the salt anyways," Runa said. "Use it to scrub everything off."
"Will do." Kyra picked up the salt container and locked the bathroom door.
Cas vanished once he was sure the girls would be safe until he could get to them later to find out everything they knew. |
