"I know." Kyra grumped but started looking around to find what she needed so they could get going. She didn't want this to take any longer than necessary either.

Runa grumbled a bit under her breath, but found herself a good enough outfit to fool people into answering her questions. At least their hunting kit had some of their badges in it, that was something.

Kyra paid for everything with one of their fake credit cards and went to go change in the bathroom so she'd be ready to go when Runa was.

"Not as comfy as normal, but good enough," she muttered.

"I hate breaking in new skirts," Runa muttered in agreement. "Almost as much as breaking in new shoes."

"I know. The guys have it so much easier." Kyra grumbled for a few moments before she shook her head.

"Alright, let's get going. The sooner we can talk to this guy, the better."

"Right," Runa said, stashing her regular clothes into a bag. "Let's go."

Kyra drove them to the man's apartment, straightening her skirt a bit before she went to go knock. The apartment didn't look bad, but through a window she could see empty beer bottles. Never a good sign.

It took a moment for anyone to answer the door. Finally, it was opened a bit and a bleary-eyed man peered out.

"What do you want?" he asked.

Kyra flashed her badge at the man. "We'd like to talk to you about Jason Bellevue," she said, shifting her foot forward so she could move it if he tried to shut them out. They were running out of time and she was losing patience.

"Who's askin'?" the guy asked, glancing between the two with bloodshot eyes. "An' what's it to you?"

"FBI," Kyra replied. "And a lot of your friends seem to be dying recently. We're just trying to figure out what's going on."

The guy blinked.

"What do the Feds care about Bellevue?" he asked. "Been dead for years."

"He's been presumed dead for years. He went missing, there was never any confirmation that he died," Kyra said, pouncing on the opportunity.

"'S what I said," the guy replied. "Isn't it?" He was starting to look a bit nervous now, though.

"You were friends with him, weren't you?" Kyra asked. "There was a whole group of you that used to spend time together, including Bellevue. You must know what happened to your good friend or else you would still be hounding us to do our jobs."

"The cops told us there was nothing they could do," the guy said. "Everyone stopped looking."

Kyra looked at him, one eyebrow raised. "Did you? Or did you already know where he was buried, so you didn't bother pretending to look?"

The guy definitely looked nervous now.

"Listen, what's with the questions?" he asked. "Bellevue's gone, the cops dropped the case, that's it."

"Is it? Then why has the rest of your group been dropping like flies?" Kyra asked, her voice silky smooth. "All of them are dying of blood loss. Death rate's a little high for a town like this."

Now the guy looked afraid.

"Who are you?" he asked. "What do you want with me? I had nothing to do with it, okay?"

"Nothing to do with what?" Kyra asked quietly. "What happened?" All he had to do was tell them where the body was and they could go salt and burn and be on their way.

"N-nothing," the guy said. "Nothing, I swear!" He tried to close the door on them.

Kyra kept her foot wedged in the door.

"Alright, let's say you weren't involved. You know who was and you know who happened. I swear this will all stay off the record and you won't be charged with anything if you tell us what happened."

"No, I don't know anything, leave me alone!" the guy said, panicking. Runa sighed and looked at Kyra.

"I can try to scare the answer out of him," she said in a low voice. "People sometimes react to the eye thing."

Kyra hesitated for a moment before she nodded. "Try it. If that doesn't work we'll have to try something more drastic."
