"Better safe than smited," Runa pointed out as she got up and slipped her phone into her pocket again. "I mean, considering the running commentary on Kyra's phone from Gabriel..."
"No, just, no, don't want to know," Dean said, making a face. "Really don't want to know." He shook himself a bit.
Runa snickered.
"So I take it your weekend was... productive?" she asked, cautiously glancing from Dean to Cas. |
"That's one way to put it," Dean said carefully. Cas just blinked at them both, still sitting on Dean's bed.
Runa just grinned a bit.
"Good," she said. "Less tension around here, then." |
Dean snorted and shook his head.
"So I take it all went well with the hunts, since no one ended up in a hospital." |
"The demon hunt was disgustingly easy," Runa said. "The haunting was a pain in the ass. But they went well enough."
Dean snorted. "There's something wrong when the haunting is harder than the demon hunt," he said, shaking his head a bit.
"No kidding," Runa said. "Though we do kind of have an unfair advantage."
"What? Oh, right." Dean snorted. "Even with that, ghosts should not be as hard as demons."
"It was a vengeful spirit," Runa said. "A decade old, shallow grave in the woods, whole nine yards."
Dean shook his head. "I hate those ghosts," he grumbled. "They're the worst. You ever hear about the ghosts of the kids at the convention?"
"I don't think so," Runa said, shaking her head. "What happened there?"
"Supernatural convention that ended up being in an actual haunted hotel. We had to deal with the fallout." Dean snorted. "That one sucked."
"There was a convention for those?" Runa asked, biting her lip to keep from snickering too much. "I read one of those once, I couldn't decide if it was heartbreaking or hysterical."
Dean scowled a bit.
"It is an annual occurrence now," Cas said, trying to be helpful. |
Runa couldn't stop a few small snickers from escaping.
"I am so sorry," she said. She made a mental note to tell Kyra about it so they could maybe drop in on one. Because she kind of wanted to see one of these conventions now. |
Dean scowled at her but didn't actually do anything else, instead grumbling to himself. Cas just blinked once, a bit confused.
"I did only manage to read one, though," Runa said, still grinning a bit. "I would have read more, but I got interrupted by that first stint in Satan's Boot Camp."
Dean snorted. "I'm sure you could still find the books somewhere," he said, shaking his head. "Not that I know why you'd want to read those things."
"I'm sure I could, too," Runa agreed. "Amazon or Ebay or something." She shook her head. "No real interest now, not after what I heard the sixth or seventh volume covers."
Dean nodded. "They're just all our old cases," he said with a shrug. "Hopefully Chuck stopped writing them. I think he's stopped writing them, anyway."
Runa shook her head a bit.
"I checked online," she said carefully. "Volumes six and seven cover Hell. I don't particularly want to read about it." |
Dean nodded. "I know. I read all of them."
"So you get why I'm not going to bother reading the rest," Runa said.
