Runa nodded, and glanced at the guys. Sam also nodded, and glanced at Dean.

"Sure. Why not?" Dean shrugged and headed for the car again so they could head over there. Cas followed him, looking thoughtful still.

Kyra rolled her eyes a bit and headed back to their car, pulling up directions and texting them to Sam.

Runa went to get into the car with Kyra.

"Well, this should be fun," Gabriel said as he slid into the Impala. "This what you boys do all the time? Hunt with next to no information?"

"Normally we have more information than this," Dean said, shaking his head. "This is a bad hunt."

"I see," Gabriel said. He settled back in his seat to wait and see what would happen on the hunt. He wouldn't interfere unless he had to; that wouldn't be fair at all.

It didn't take long to get to the farm, although Kyra and Runa got there first. Kyra waited for the others to show up to do anything, though, just sitting on the hood of the car to wait.

Dean parked next to them, turning off his baby and getting out. The place didn't look like much, but that didn't mean anything.

Runa was already set to go, a small notebook in her hands.

"Journalists looking into the strange dog things," she said, holding up the notebook. "I figure that'll get people to talk to us."

Dean nodded. "Good call," he said.

"But not if six of us show up," Kyra pointed out.

Runa considered for a moment.

"Three of us can stay out here," she said.

"I'll stay," Kyra volunteered, settling herself on the car again.

Dean shrugged. "I'll go," he said. Cas just shrugged.

"If Kyra's staying out here, I'll go inside," Runa said.

Sam glanced at Kyra, silently asking if she could handle looking after the two angels. If not, he would stay outside as well.

Kyra nodded. She'd be fine with the angels. Cas was easy, and Gabriel would hopefully not get into much trouble. She made a little shooing motion.

Sam nodded and gestured for Dean and Runa to lead on.

Gabriel just leaned back against the Impala to wait.

Dean went up and knocked on the door, waiting for the owner to answer. When the man answered, he held up a "press badge".

"We're with the associated press, sir, and we were wondering if we could ask a few questions."

"Questions?" the man asked. "What kind'a questions?" He looked at the three of them.

"We're just curious if you have any idea what's been going on with the dogs," Dean said. "We're asking all the farmers in the area."

"I only got the two sheepdogs," the man replied, a bit confused. Then his expression cleared. "Oh, you mean the weird mangy things."

Runa nodded.

"Right," she said. "We're doing a bit of background research on them, we'd like to know if you know anything about them.

The man shrugged. "I dunno. Strangest looking things I ever seen, though." He shook his head. "Looked all diseased. Apart from having a big chunk missing."

"Kind of skinny, mangy, weird teeth, big eyes?" Runa asked. The man nodded, giving her a weird look. "Same description we got from a couple others," she added before he could ask.

The man nodded. "Yeah, sounds about right. But it had been attacked, too. Strangest thing. I dunno of any animals in the area big enough to do that."

Runa nodded and wrote it down.

"Have you noticed any of your flock going missing lately?" she asked. "I know it's rather common in this area to have stray sheep picked off by coyotes and such." Chupas, more likely, but she wasn't going to say that aloud. "Have the numbers changed at all?"

"No more'n usual, maybe a little less," the man said with a shrug. "Occasionally one'll wander off and I'll never see it again, but the coyotes haven't been getting as many this year."

"Interesting," Runa commented.

"Have you noticed any other unusual things happening lately?" Sam asked. "Unusual for the area and the time of year?"

"Not that I can think of," the man said slowly. "Lot'a dead dogs this year, but that's it."

Sam nodded.

"Alright, then," Runa said. "Do you know anything else about it that might be helpful? Even if it doesn't seem relevant, it might help our research."
