Cautiously, Sam reached out to put an arm around her. He gave her room to pull away if she wanted to; he knew that things were different now and that they might not want to be close to him anymore. He couldn't blame them if that happened.
Kyra scooted into his side and leaned into him. It set all her instincts screaming at her, but she ignored them.
Sam held her gently, just relaxing there. He relaxed a little more when Gabriel settled himself on Sam's other side.
"I'm sorry I had to do this," he murmured to them. "Sorry for what I had to become. But I'm not sorry for doing what needed to be done to finally get us the upper hand." |
Kyra huffed. "So like you," she murmured. "Sure, I'll cut off my arm if it'll save the world."
"Can't help it," Sam murmured back. He kissed her forehead gently. "I know I make you nervous now, and I'm sorry. You know I'd never hurt you."
"I know. It's just a matter of getting used to the change, I guess." Kyra sighed and leaned into him. "I don't want to nervous, I know I have no reason to be."
"I don't blame you for being nervous," Sam said. "It's okay."
"It's not okay. It's still you, I shouldn't be reacting like this around you." Kyra scowled at nothing.
"All things considered, I'd be worried if you didn't," Sam pointed out. "I mean, I'm kind of... different now."
"Only a little," Kyra muttered stubbornly.
"More than a little," Sam argued. "I've got the full package now, instead of that little bit I had from the whole demon blood thing."
Kyra shrugged a bit but didn't move away from him. "I'll deal with it," she said. "I just need a bit of time to adjust."
"If you're sure," Sam said. He didn't let her go, but didn't hold her so tight she couldn't get away, either.
"I'm sure." Kyra stayed right where she was. She wasn't going to leave now.
Sam nodded a bit.
"Alright," he said. Carefully, he maneuvered them so they were all laying down. He was ready to settle in for a bit. In the next room, Runa was just getting out of the shower, putting the rosary and the can of salt on the table as she passed it. Her skin was definitely a bit red from the holy water and salt, but she looked more relaxed. |
Dean was sprawled across a bed, and Cas was sitting next to him, also relaxing. They both looked over at Runa and Dean grinned and made room for her.
Just to prove she could, Kyra settled half-sprawled across Sam's chest. |
Runa went and flopped over next to them both.
"It was rough," she murmured as she settled in. "But we won." Sam tightened his arm around her a bit, and Gabriel put his arms around them both, his wings appearing and folding protectively around them all. |
"Good." Dean pulled her in closer. "You had better motivation than anyone else there."
"Showoff," Kyra muttered to Gabe with a sleepy little smile, already getting comfortable enough to take a nap on Sam. |
"I did a damn good job," Runa said, snuggling close. "A cambion trying to help a Winchester take over? There were almost daily assassination attempts, after the initial wave of demons trying to tear us apart. I had to take out a lot of them before they learned that Sam wasn't the only one to be afraid of."
"Just enjoy it," Gabriel murmured back. Sam was already nodding off. |
Dean shook his head a bit. "Clearly they didn't know what they were dealing with." He managed a grin. "Bet they do now."
Kyra grumbled at him but settled in for nap time. |
"I'm not the king's second for nothing," Runa said, grinning back a bit. She moved so she was settled snugly in between Dean and Cas.
Cas brushed a hand through her hair gently, while Dean settled in next to her.
"I missed this," Runa murmured closing her eyes and finally relaxing.
"So did we," Dean said, and Cas hummed his agreement. "But you had to wait longer." He made a face.
"It's alright," Runa said. "It was worth the time down there. There won't be a war with Hell anymore, now that Sam's in charge."
