Melody nodded, grinning a bit and setting her bag at her feet. Her digivice stayed on her hip. Sitting down at the computer, she opened a normal internet window and pulled up GoogleMaps.

"Here," she said. She typed in the address of the library. "This is where we are. Where's home for you?"

Ben still looked a bit doubtful, but nodded.

"As long as you're sure," he said.

Brent gestured to the Americans.

"Come on," he said. "We should get going. I want to look into this and make sure it's not something serious." Because anyone who'd known Leomon for any length of time would know that minor problems didn't alarm the digimon. Something was definitely wrong, and Brent wanted to get it taken care of.

Mythos 11-07-2013 05:33 PM

Jordan leaned over and typed in the address to his mother's apartment and waited for the site to reload. He was surprised to see exactly how close they were when it did pop up, only a few blocks. He looked around the library and smirked some "I'm pretty sure my Mom would be happy to let me come out here without asking too many questions."

He turned to Melody and smiled some more "This might just work out!"

"Shh!" hissed a librarian, passing beside them with a pile of books.

Casey took a deep breath and fell in behind Brent "We can ask someone in Temp city when we--"

Leomon froze in front of them and frowned. There was space between the trees which clearly showed the floating city that Melody and Casey had originally planned on visiting and the sight of it clearly did not inspire Leomon with wonder. "This will be a problem." he muttered.

"How?" Casey asked.

"Temp city is not suppose to be floating."

Mageling 11-07-2013 06:49 PM

Melody grinned.

"Great," she said. She logged out of the computer and grabbed her bag. "Come on, we should restock and get you a pack and things. While time is constant on the other side, on this side I can adjust the transport settings to take us back to approximately when we left. That way we're not losing years if we come back for the night or something."

Brent paused.

"Wait, that's the floating city you guys mentioned?" he asked, looking at Casey and pointing to the city. He looked at Leomon. "And that's Temp City?"

"So... how do we get there?" Ben asked, trying to work out the practical details.

Mythos 11-07-2013 11:17 PM

"Oh.. that's good. I was worried that Frimon would be sitting there forever waiting for us." Jordan admitted. "I need to get some things from the corner store really quickly but you can come up to the apartment."

Casey frowned and took a moment to work over the situation before them "Yeah. That's what we saw from up on the bluff. Do you think this... corruption thing might be behind the city floating? I thought you said it would just be small errors... Not... not -that-."

"I can not determine what the cause is from here." Leomon gruffed, bluntly. He furrowed his brows and whipped his tail. "We will have to be careful as we get closer."

Mageling 11-26-2013 04:38 AM

Melody nodded.

"Sure, I'll go with you," she said. "I don't mind tagging along." She had plenty of time before she had to grab her brother and get home. They might be adults, but they still lived with their parents for the time being, and it would be a Bad Thing if they did anything to make their parents worry. Adjusting her bag on her shoulders, she followed Jordan out the door.

Brent and Tentamon both nodded, and Ben and Coronamon both looked a bit apprehensive.

"This is way above my player level," Ben muttered. "Shouldn't I still be on the newbie quests?" He shook his head a bit and followed Casey.

Mythos 12-23-2013 08:17 AM

Jordan lead Melody to a street corner and looked both ways "I didn't even know there was a library out this way. I guess I'm just used to them being near a school or something." The road proved to be clear so he started on across in order to make it to the apartment as quickly as possible. Foot traffic was light this time of day and their progress went accordingly. Soon the pair were shuffling into a small corner store where immediately one of the clerks started to eye Jordan suspiciously. "I should have the cash for it-- that is if I didn't lose my wallet back there." Jordan confided to Melody.

"This isn't a game." Casey whispered to Ben "...And if anything that Shellmon was your 'newbie quest'." She made a face at Leomon's back. His body language was definitely more tense than it had been before and that only meant trouble. Big trouble... and Casey wasn't sure about how well the Canadians or Ben and his digimon would work in a group. This could get dangerous and they were marching toward it with purpose!

Mageling 01-05-2014 04:22 AM

Melody just grinned a bit and followed Jordan into the store. She knew what it was like, the first few times. She'd lost her wallet at least twice before she learned to just leave it in her bag. She didn't need it in the digital world, anyways; her digivice provided everything she needed by way of access, and there was no real currency to worry about.

"Well, get what you need," she said. "Once we get you home, I'm heading back to the library. You can come with me if you want, otherwise I'll text you when I get home again tonight." Because she definitely wanted to go explore Temp City and the floating island.

"This is still way outside of my experience," Ben pointed out. He could see how tense Leomon was getting, and he could tell that tension was getting to Coronamon as well. The tension was thick in the air, and it was making him nervous. Something was definitely wrong, and it seemed to be because of Temp City.

"We still need to check it out, though," Coronamon piped up. He looked at his partner determinedly. "Digidestined are the ones who take care of the digital world, and that means fixing any problems, so we have to look into it, right?"

Mythos 02-05-2014 08:00 AM

"Yeah..." Jordan mumbled and picked up a few things from the shelves. "Could you tell me how to enter through the computer at--" he cut himself off short as another customer wandered near them in search for frozen vegetables but he was definitely sounding increasingly interested in returning. How could he not with Frimon waiting for him back there?

Leomon nodded his head, agreeing with Coronamon's assertion. He also felt it was his duty to look after the digital world and with problems like these experience told him he would best do with some extra help.

Mageling 02-05-2014 08:08 AM

"'Log in' is the term you're looking for," Melody said, grinning. "And yeah, no problem, I can show you how to log back in." She could practically see the wheels turning in his head, and for some reason, that pleased her. "It's easy, you can do it from any computer that has wireless access."

"Yeah, alright," Ben said. He glanced at the others, still a bit wary. He had no idea what he was doing, and he really felt like it should be left to someone more experienced.

"Let's go, then," Brent said. "The sooner we look into this, the better. If it's some sort of code error, we can't give it time to degrade."

Mythos 02-05-2014 08:32 AM

Jordan nodded and quickly made his way over to the clerk in order to purchase his groceries again. He tried not to look the less-than enthusiastic man in the eye, understanding that to him the boy had only just purchased the exact same haul moments ago but his best efforts didn't escape the man's notice. He beat a hasty retreat outside and looked to Melody for... he supposed it must have been something like reassurance. What they had done was practically time travel... and Melody and Casey must do it all the time!

Casey marched forward, eager to figure out what they would find to be the cause though the mention of a code error made the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. They would have to be careful their digimon kept clear of the corruption if this were a massive error or things could get even hairier than they were already. "We'll have to keep an eye out for Melody getting back... she'd be heading right for it."

Mageling 02-05-2014 08:37 AM

Melody just waited patiently for him, absently checking some things on her phone. She glanced over when Jordan approached.

"All set?" she asked, looking from his face to the grocery bags and back again.

"We'll keep an eye out for her!" Coronamon declared. He looked at Ben for confirmation, and the digidestined nodded.

"Right," he said. "We'll watch for my sister. But she should be okay, right? She knows what she's doing and all that?"

Mythos 02-05-2014 08:54 AM

"Mhm. I think I have everything." Jordan lead the way to a quiet street of small apartments and townhouses tucked behind a row of old iron streetlights. There was clearly some effort to spruce up the place in progress though the entire effect had yet to fully transform the well worn buildings into the 'well settled' urban neighborhood some developer had fated it to become.

"Yeah, this isn't her first rodeo." Casey smiled. Melody would be careful, right? She was a smart girl after all... The girl smiled a bit more once she had convinced herself that Melody and Lunamon would be fine and looked down at Dorimon to ensure the same thing.

Dorimon, however completely missed the silent conversation Casey was attempting to make with her wrinkled her nose "I don't remember us EVER dealing with massive data errors. Small ones, sure but we're talking about a floating city. Who KNOWS what's really going on... there might be some really nasty digimon behind all of it just waiting for us to split up so he can kidnap up or something."

Casey winced and looked up at Ben.

Mageling 02-05-2014 06:16 PM

Melody followed him, letting him lead the way.

"It's pretty easy to log in once you know how," she said as they walked. She absently checked her digivice as they went, making note of the time (in both worlds) and Moonmon's current state of being. She was sleeping, at the moment, which didn't surprise Melody, and she seemed to be content.

"Well, aren't you just a ray of sunshine," Ben said bleakly, looking worried. "And we're just going to let my sister walk into that alone?"

"Well, she's not alone, Ben," Coronamon pointed out. "She's got Moonmon."

Mythos 02-05-2014 09:48 PM

Jordan slipped a key into one of the doors and turned the lock "That's good at least..." He cleared his throat and in a much softer voice added "Come on in while I drop these off. I shouldn't take too long and Mom will probably be okay with letting me check out the library on my own."

"Sorry about her, Ben." Casey sighed and nudged Dorimon with the toe of her shoe. "Moonmon and Melody will be fine. I promise."

Kudamon scuttled up beside Coronamon and grinned widely, obviously oblivious of the current conversation "Race you to that tree over there?"

Mageling 02-05-2014 10:17 PM

Melody nodded.

"No rush," she said softly. She slipped her digivice into her pocket again and followed him inside. She made sure not to touch anything, when she could help it; she was always kind of uneasy in other peoples' homes.

"You're on!" Coronamon said, grinning.

"Coronamon!" Ben yelped as his digimon took off after Kudamon. "Come back!" He ran after his digimon, not wanting to get separated.

Mythos 02-06-2014 06:25 AM

Jordan hurried through the townhouse in order to determine where his mother a second after he dumped the groceries on the kitchen counter... she didn't seem to have even left her bed, which was fortunate... Maybe he could slip into the digital world on his computer and avoid having to use the library excuse just yet. When his scouting was done he waved Melody over to the family desktop and fumbled with his own digivice.

"How do I do this, now?" He whispered.

"Whoa!" Leigh gasped as the three of them blasted past her and Babydmon. "Knock it off you two! Didn't you hear it was dangerous? Leomon wasn't just addressing the humans here. You have to be careful!" She made an apologetic face when Leigh realized how direct she sounded, but her expression still spoke volumes about the concern that generated them in the first place.

Mageling 02-06-2014 06:36 AM

Melody grinned.

"Okay," she said, taking out her digivice. Then she turned on the computer. "Here, where the computer tells you what networks are in range." She pointed at the screen. "It will automatically pick up any digivices in the immediate area." There was a short list of networks, and two that were both labeled with binary.

01101101 01100101 01101100 01101111 01100100 01111001

01101010 01101111 01110010 01100100 01100001 01101110

She highlighted the first one; she recognized it as her own. "One is yours, one is mine. Memorize yours, so you know which one it is in case there are more digivices in range. Only your own network code will get you in, because it's connected to your digivice."

Double-clicking on the network, it pulled up what looked like a portal, right there on the screen. Her digivice beeped in response. She held it up and pointed to two of the buttons. "Button on the left will take you back right now at the current time. Button on the right will take you back a few minutes after you left, in digital world time." She grinned. "I'll go first, since my link is the one open. Once it closes, the network will disappear and you can open yours, okay?"

"I know!" Ben howled back. "Coronamon! Come on, quit it!" Finally, he caught up to his digimon and grabbed him.

"Aww, Ben, you ruined it," Coronamon whined.

"Now's not the time," Ben said. "Come on, we have to figure this out, then we can go have fun."

Mythos 02-07-2014 07:50 AM

Jordan nodded and studied his digivice a moment before looks back up at Melody "And a week is like... five minutes out here? That's what you said the other day, right?" His mind was too busy buzzing with other thoughts to properly recall what her and Casey had been saying. It seemed long enough ago...

"Heh... and I figure the only numbers I'll see are yours, mine and your brother's."

Kudamon bounced around in a circle to celebrate winning the race but in moments found himself in Michael's arms. "You gotta be careful, okay! We just met one another and if one of those error thingies hurts you I'd be in this alone!"

"Whoa... No I won't leave you, Michael! We're pals!"

"Promise you'll be careful, then?"

Kudamon gave Michael a nod, conceding to the boy's worry. "Sorry for scaring you."

Fortunately there didn't seem to have been any errors big or small immediately around them but the likelihood that there would be more increased as they approached the floating city. Even now the party could see strange static regions dotting the treeline. Some flickered, some were up-side-down and others still were just a flat, black emptiness.

Mageling 02-07-2014 08:54 PM

"More or less," Melody replied. "And like I said, computers will pick up any digivice in range. It's actually kind of interesting, sitting out in a crowded place with a laptop and seeing if any digivice networks appear." She grinned. "I did come across one or two unfamiliar ones, once, on a trip overseas last year. I didn't meet up with any of the foreign digidestined face-to-face, but we each knew the others were there." She briefly stretched a bit. "Now, come on, I'll meet you on the other side of the portal."

With one last grin, she hit the right-hand button on her digivice, pointed it at the portal on the screen, and disappeared. The portal closed once she was gone, and one of the binary networks on the network list disappeared.

Ben stared every time they passed a glitch.

"What's going on?" he asked cautiously, looking at a spot that seemed to static in and out at random intervals.

Mythos 02-07-2014 09:51 PM

Jordan followed her instructions immediately, hoping to not leave her waiting long. In a flash he arrived in the digital world and rubbed his eyes "Is there always that... blinding light business? It hurts my eyes."

"Jordan! You came back!!" Frimon squealed and bounces at the boy eagerly.

He smiled softly and picked up the little furball so he could carry him where ever Melody was going to lead them. "Where is Lunamon?"

"Don't go near it!" Kudamon gasped "It's a data error... the digiworld is all... digital and if something gets messed up- I mean REALLY messed up- you could get corrupted. It's very dangerous."

"Very powerful dark digimon can cause or take advantage of these errors." Leomon grumbled "And the danger of being corrupted is not a joke at all..." his eyes narrowed recalling his 'adventures' with Devimon's black gears.

Mageling 02-08-2014 02:18 AM

"Moonmon," Melody corrected absently. She looked around the area briefly before heading over to a small alcove formed by a pair of little trees and a couple of shrubs. She found Moonmon napping there, contently snuggled up against one of the trees. She gently picked up her digimon, and Moonmon stirred.

"Mel?" the little digimon asked.

"It's me, sweets," Melody replied. "We're going to meet up with the others now."

"Kay," Moonmon said, dozing off again. Melody went back over to Jordan.

"Alright, let's go," she said. "They said they were headed towards the floating island, right? So that's where we're going."

"Data corruption?" Ben asked, eyes going wide. "That's frightening. And it just happens? Just like that? How does it get fixed?"

Mythos 03-28-2014 07:37 PM

"Oh right... they change their names." Jordan mused quietly as he fell in behind Melody. He looked down at frimon and gave a little smile when the little digimon caught him. "So will it be a surprise when you change? What does it feel like?"

Frimon shook his head "I don't know what I will be next... but digivolving feels all sorts of weird." He looked over at Lunamon "Does it feel different digivolving into a champion form?"

Casey shrugged at Ben's questions "generally the digidestined fix it... corrupted digital data can come from a variety of sources. Most often it is because of virus type digimon being jerks but there are other ways... errors and poor loading... we just have to see what is going on over there before we make any assumptions. "

Mageling 03-28-2014 09:16 PM

Moonmon yawned.

"Feels like digivolving to rookie," she said. "Just... More."

"Ultimate is where it gets interesting," Melody added, grinning. "That's when crests get involved."

Ben blinked, trying to process all of the new information. He definitely wanted some sort of cheat sheet or walkthrough for this.

"You know what?" he said. "I'll just follow you all and watch what you do. I think that sounds like a good plan."

Mythos 03-28-2014 10:39 PM

"Thats probably the safest route. " Casey laughed but Leomon didn't seem amused.

"Ultimate... wow..." Frimon looked starstruck by the very idea. "I can't wait! Hey Jordan! Let's try digivolving now!"

Jordan looked at his digivice "aren't we supposed to do that when we're in danger or something? Thats kinda what I was getting before..."

Mageling 03-28-2014 11:28 PM

Ben laughed a little as well, although it was more of a nervous laugh. Coronamon just stayed close to Ben for the time being.

"Don't rush it," Melody said, although she was grinning a bit. "You'll digivolve when you need to. If you try to force it, you might dark-digivolve instead, and that's not good."
