Liz just raised an eyebrow, but didn't comment. She hadn't missed how it was always Kaoru who took the 'dame' role in their little skit, or how it was usually Hikaru who started the impromptu skits in the first place. They each had their little habits and quirks, no matter how similar they were.
|
The twins shrugged. They didn't need her to understand. Not many people did. They were separate people, and they knew that. They knew they were a little different. And it didn't bother them.
|
Liz just sipped at her tea again. She wasn't technically one of their clients, so they didn't really have to pay attention to her. So she made sure to leave them a way out.
|
However, the twins didn't leave yet. They still had five minutes.
"So are you going to take over for your mother eventually?" Kaoru asked. She had all the signs of being groomed into a position of power, but it was hard to say sometimes for sure. |
"I hope so," Liz said. "It's part of the reason I've been going to all of the major events." Here, she blushed just a little. "There are a couple of pieces in each collection that are mine."
|
"Oh?" Kaoru raised an eyebrow. She must have some talent, if her work was being showcased. Just because her mother was in charge didn't mean her stuff would automatically be shown, after all.
|
"A couple of things here and there," Liz admitted. "A blouse, maybe a tunic, depending on the season. Littler things."
|
"Have to start somewhere," Kaoru said with a brief grin.
"We haven't tried yet," Hikaru said with a shrug. "Mostly we just watch." |
"I always like seeing my designs on the models," Liz said. "Knowing they were nice enough to be made."
|
The twins nodded.
"I'm sure that's a good feeling," Kaoru said. |
"It is," Liz said, nodding. "I'm looking forward to Paris, since it's a lot of autumn lines for next year being shown."
|
"Hopefully the autumn lines will be better than the spring lines," Hikaru said with a snort. "The last spring lines weren't great."
"There were a few that were fine," Kaoru said. "Sort of." Hikaru shrugged. |
"There were a few nice pieces," Liz agreed. "I'm never fond of color blocking with brights, and the colors this past spring weren't ideal."
|
"Color blocking with the fall colors is much better," Kaoru agreed.
"If it happens," Hikaru pointed out. "It might not," Kaoru said. "We haven't looked at any of the potential lines yet." |
"Animal prints and metallics," Liz said. "Lots of gold, some bronze, leopard prints and black." She grinned a bit. "I've been waiting for them, it's been too long since we've had combinations like that."
|
The twins exchanged looks and grinned. Oh now they were looking forward to seeing what their grandmother did with all that.
"We should throw feathers in there somewhere," Hikaru said with a grin. |
Liz raised an eyebrow, although she was grinning.
"And what would you do with those?" she asked. Not that she was complaining, mind. |
"Not sure," Hikaru said with a grin. "Although I bet Kaoru would make a great angel."
"Hikaru!" Kaoru pouted. |
Liz laughed a bit.
"I'm sure," she said. She grinned teasingly. "He's just so sweet." |
"Oh you don't know the half of it," Hikaru said, waggling his eyebrows at her.
|
Liz snickered and tried desperately to hold back the laughter.
"You both are just too much," she said. |
They both grinned at her. Really, they didn't do it for her enjoyment, but they were amused that she was so amused.
"Of course we are, princess," Hikaru purred. "There are two of us, after all," Kaoru added with a grin. |
Liz fought back the last of the snickers.
"I can see why you both are so popular," she said. "I bet girls can't get enough of that routine." |
"Usually you're right," Hikaru agreed.
"Most girls like it," Kaoru said with a shrug and a grin, leaning back in his seat. |
"Usually?" Liz echoed. "There was a special case?"
