Honey was making sure Mori got all the tea he wanted, and Mori was pretty much just giving his biscuits to Honey. It was just the way they worked.
When the next pot of tea was brought out, they also brought out a cake with it, which Lucy let Honey have as much of as he liked. She was watching to see what each of them liked and preferred, making mental notes.
Mori cut a slice of cake for Honey, and a much smaller slice for himself. He didn't have much of a sweet tooth, but a little cake wasn't bad.
"This is delicious!" Honey said as he devoured the cake. |
"Good! I thought you might like it." Lucy grinned, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "I think the next one you might enjoy more as well, Mori."
Mori 'hmm'-d and took another sip of tea, although he gave her a small nod.
Lucy gave them as much time as they wanted to eat and drink the tea, quite content to just chat with them. She was having far too much fun learning more about them, after all.
Mori left the talking mostly to Honey, although he did interject a few words here and there if he felt they were necessary. For the moment, though, they were both fine with Honey doing most of the chatting with Lucy.
Lucy did notice that but didn't object. She didn't mind at all. But she did grin when the next cake and tea was brought out. This was going to be interesting.
Mori's expression did change slightly when he tasted the next tea, although it wasn't a bad change. He seemed a little surprised at the taste, but his eyes quickly warmed and he settled in with the tea.
Honey, on the other hand, was beaming at the tiny petit-fours cakes even as he carefully put three of them on his plate. |
Lucy noticed and grinned, settling in. Oh she knew she'd done well in picking these.
"Is that tea more to your taste?" she asked Mori quietly, letting Honey have as many cakes as he wanted. |
"It's very good," Mori replied just as quietly.
Lucy grinned as she made note of which one it was.
By the time they were done with the tea and cakes, Lucy was ready to show them around and divulge a few secrets. But only a few. |
Honey bounced out of his seat once they were done.
"That was great!" he enthused as he brushed himself off. Had they been in the club room, he would have let Mori do it for him, but outside of the club he could take care of himself. |
"Good, I'm glad you enjoyed it." Lucy grinned as she got up as well. "If you'd like, I can give you a little tour."
"Sure," Honey said, smiling. Mori also nodded and set down his teacup.
Lucy nodded and led them around into the back, where they had all the tea stored. There was a lot of tea back there.
"We've got a few hundred types of tea," she said. "At least a small selection of every kind." |
"Wow!" Honey enthused, looking at all the different types.
"Impressive," Mori added, nodding. |
Lucy grinned. "I'm not involved in that much at the moment," she said. "Of course, my favorite place in here is the kitchen." She led them through the tea room and into the kitchen, which was huge and warm and smelled liked baking goods.
"Oh wow," Honey said, looking around the kitchen in wonder. It was only the second time he'd ever been in a kitchen, and this was a really impressive kitchen.
"Mitsukuni," Mori warned softly. Honey nodded. "I won't touch anything," he said. |
Lucy laughed quietly. "Maybe next time," she said to Honey. "I've spent a lot of time in here."
Honey grinned and nodded.
"I bet you make a lot of sweets here, right?" he asked. |
"Most of what we make are sweets," Lucy agreed with a little grin. "But we also make breads and sandwiches here."
"That's amazing," Honey said. "It must be lots of fun!"
"Most of the time it is," Lucy said with a grin. "Next time I'll show you a few more things. Can't show you everything at once." She grinned teasingly.
Honey laughed a bit.
"Right!" he said. "But this is still really fun." |
