Resident Evil: Trail of Memories (HappyxInfinite)

A small European town suffers the after-effects of the Las Plagas virus. While Leon Kennedy is dispatched to rescue the President's Daughter from the crazed Los Illuminados cult, another town suffers a similar outbreak.

Umbrella is a ruined company, and yet they are still trying to gain a foothold wherever they can in a desperate attempt to save the company. They dispatch an agent of their own to the other town, hoping that while the government is preoccupied with the Los Illuminados incident, they can recover a sample and get out without meeting too much resistance.

Another mysterious company has a similar idea and sends in a mercenary to recover a sample, hoping to sell it on the black market.

This is where the story starts, in the woods of an unidentified location in Europe. These two may not know it, but their stories are intertwined, and things are not what they initially seem.

Dawn.

Natasha carefully picked her way over dead leaves, grateful for the moisture that ensured they did not crackle under her boots. she didn't know what she was going up against; the reports had been vague, at best, and while she got the feeling she wasn't being told everything, she wasn't one to question her orders.

She froze when she heard a twig snap from somewhere behind her- too low to the ground to be a bird. She slowly turned, her hand going for her pistol as her eyes swept the area. A dog, or wolf, stoof behind her, a low, menacing growl bubbling from it's throat. Another shape, similar in size, prowled through the trees further back; she noted that there may be more than just these two creatures.

There was something wrong with them, she just couldn't tell what... until the beast closest to her prowled to the side, exposing a large, jagged wound that exposed bloody, decaying meat and jagged bone.

An injury like that, it shouldn't be moving, she thought, just as the creature took a step towards her. She contemplated shooting, but she didn't want to attract anymore unwanted attention- from animal or humans. She spun and bolted, her plan to get to the nearest tree and get up it, then take care of the wolves from up there. She could hear them take chase, two, three, maybe four of them taking chase. She cursed- most of the trees around her were too thin, or the branches were out of her reach. She wove through the trees, her heart racing until she finally found one- there!- that suited her needs.

Just as she changed course, she felt something hit the small of her back. She went tumbling, landing on her back with a wolf on top of her. She stuck her arm out and held it back with one hand at the throat, reaching for a knife as it snapped at her, fetid breath washing over her. She drove the knife into the creature's skull, shoving it off and scrambling to her feet as the others closed in. She jumped and grabbed the lowest branch of the tree and began to climb up, hearing the wolves as they clambered around the base of the tree. When she felt safe enough, she looked down, studying the creatures. They were all in some sort of decay, like the first had been, chunks of flesh and fur hanging off their bodies or missing entirely. What the fuck, she thought, staring down at them.

Six wolves. She didn't have enough knives for that. They had her treed.

[[OH MY GOD long post is long.]]

(Long post are fun to read :D)

Yet another unspeakable job. Great. The white haired male had been sitting within an armored vehicle as it drove through the terrain of what seemed to had been the ruins of an old city. Glancing out to the barred up windows on the side of the vehicle to see what was awaiting him on the way back to this corporation's headquarters; he was able to see what seemed to had been deformed creatures but as well as the remains of what looked to be humans still shockingly able to move around. What kind of a job did he get himself into this time, most of the jobs he had done never really had matched up to something like this before. The young male had done some dirty jobs before, such as being hired to kill someone if not pick up packages and send them to another carrier while keeping himself alive from toxic gases. He had even crawled through both sewage as well as pipes that had been filled with the most disgusting and unspeakable things that humans would normally use in bathrooms. Obviously enough, it was a dirty job but in the end he had gotten what he needed to survive in gods forsaken world. Food, weapons, equipment, medical supplies, whatever the client could pay him with, he took it.

Although, the strange part was that while he had done these jobs, from time to time he would begin to feel as though he hadn't done them alone. As though there was someone else that fought alongside him, he wasn't sure if it was a female or male but he had thought for sure that he once had a partner who shared with him in the rewards and fought alongside him as though to the death. Whatever the case though, he had shook off the thought and pushed it to the side of his head. He couldn't let memories judge his mind and ruin his concentration when it came to a job, it could end up meaning life or death when in battle with anything.

Soon enough the large armored vehicle had come to a complete halt as the sounds of a gun overhead on the vehicle was immediately heard firing. It had taken down many of the creatures and deformed human-like things before they would decide to come up to the vehicle and begin beating on it. With that taken care of, the white-haired male had pushed the back double steel doors open only to hop out onto the terrain. As he approached what looked to be a large tense forest, the male gave a light exhaled sigh before making his way through it. His job had been to gather samples of some type of virus in a nearby abandoned headquarters, the thought of it being abandoned really was kind of a false bit of information already to anyone with common sense. With how the world was at the moment, it was no doubt that strange creatures were already lurking through those corridors; just waiting for their next victim.

While he had traveled through the dense forest, the light moise of dew covering across the dead leaves upon the floor had easily allowed silence to become the male's ally. Everything was pretty quiet while he had continued on his way to the headquarters, that was until the sounds of what seemed to had been growling and strange-barking-like noises had caught his attention. Dogs? No, the growling was much too deep to be considered dogs whether they were deformed or not. These were wolves.

Chasing toward where he had heard the noise of the wolves coming from, his footsteps had began to give off much more light crunching sounds from the slightly wet leaves that were scattered all over the forest floor. Darting left and right through the trees on wondering what had gotten these wolves so agitated, the last thing the male had wanted them to be doing was fighting over something that could be really handy to him. Like the sample! If they were fighting over that, than maybe this job could be over much quicker than he wanted to be here. However, that was only a hope that he had gotten, when the white-haired male had finally reached the scene of the wolves it seemed as though they were trying to attack a female that was perched up within a tree. Raising a brow at what they had wanted with the female, he gazed towards the wolves only to see they weren't much different from the rest of the creatures he had seen earlier.

The wolves by this point had been continuing to try and attack the female within the tree until they had caught upon another scent behind them. Only about one or two had first turned their heads over to look at the white-haired male as deep growls were heard from underneath their muzzles. The sound of these two had caught the attention of the rest of them as well as they turned attention upon the one person that wasn't too high for them to reach. Noticing the saliva that dripped from what remains of their mouths they had left, the male stood there completely still and unfazed at the fact that he was outnumbered. Standing as though he had his guard completely down, the deformed animals charged forward toward him.

Right before one of them would get a bite out of him though, the male had reached for the hilt of his blade behind him before unsheathing it within an instant and slicing the jaw off of the one wolf that had jumped at him first. It was pretty much on instant that the rest of the wolves would had began attacking him as he parried as best as he could against being bitten but as well as slipping side to side from their claws. He would be able to take down several deformed creatures with much ease, but considering how quickly these wolves were able to move on their feet it made it a much bigger challenge for him. Maybe, he should've just let the wolves continue on their hunt for the girl and continued on his way to get the sample. Why did he even stop in the first place.

((FLAMING PISSED AT MYSELF BECAUSE I WROTE THIS LONG ASS POST AND THEN I ACCIDENTALLY CLOSED THE WINDOW WITHOUT SAVING IT FUUUUUU--))

Natasha stared down at the beasts snapping below her, trying to formulate a plan in her head. She was by no means helpless; she was good at making plans and executing them. That was why Umbrella picked her, after all, she knew how to get out of a tough situation. If worse came to worst, she could use her pistol; she hadn't wanted to draw attention to her position, but she figured she could just sneak around any locals that might show up, and she knew she could handle any "mercenary" goons that any of the rival companies might send out.

She was getting ready to execute her plan of action when she heard the crunching of leaves underfoot; something much heavier than her or the wolves, if the leaves were crunching like that, and coming in fast. This could potentially work to her benefit, unless some demonically sized patriarch of the creatures below her came charging out of the woodworks. She was caught off guard when the male finally showed up; did she know him? Why did he look familiar?

Slowly, the wolves became aware of the presence of the male, shifting their attention to the much easier prey presented to them. Natasha kept herself on her branch, examining the scene. The male was fast and seemed capable, but the ammount of wolves present was too much for one person to handle. The bigger part of her brain told her to get the hell out of dodge while she had the chance, but something in the back of her mind whispered for her to help him, and grew incessantly louder with each passing moment.

She jumped out of her tree, executing a roll to lessen the shock of her landing. Two of the closest wolves noticed, turning to face her. She quickly drew a knife and launched it at one of them, the blade sinking into the beast's chest. It staggered slightly, then growled and shook itself. Natasha examined it as she rose to her feet slowly, taking a cautious step back. That should have been enough to drop it, but the wolf seemed no more worse for wear as it growled at her. She drew one of her longer blades, taking a defensive stance. She dodged as the first one lept at her, snapping jaws coming within an inch of her face. She swiped at it with the knife, then lept out of the way of the second beast, kicking out and catching it in the side of the head with her boot. It went flying to the side as the other attacked once more, snarling at her.

"I don't have time for this," she huffed, drawing her pistol and aiming. The first shot caught the attacking wolf above the eye, the beast hitting the ground like a sack of potatos. She pointed her gun at the second one as it got back to it's feet, dropping it where it was.

She turned to face the other wolves and the man, ready to go on the defensive should either prove to be a threat.

(GOD I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS D:<)

Fending off against the last five wolves wasn't exactly in his plans to go to the abandoned headquarters to get the sample and simply return back to his client who wanted it, then just get the reward for it. That was all he had to do, getting mixed up into a battle with a bunch of strange wild creatures was no doubt going to happen inside the building but wasting his time here was just annoying him beyond anything. The first wolf that had leaped towards him had continued to squirm upon the forest floor as it did whatever it could to try and whimper from the intense pain of losing it's entire bottom jaw. Normally, wolves such as these even though they were deformed had gotten right back up in they were stabbed or anything that didn't really remove a part of their body. There was no doubt, sooner or later the wolf would've just bled out and fallen limp on the ground as the white-haired male continued to fend himself off by the rest of them. Every few of them that had continued to try to leap at him, he had no other choice but to use his blade to parry the attack before it would make an actual wound.

With the amount of speed of five of them coming at once had made it quite difficult to get the time to actually slice another before the next one would decide to jump at him. There was no way he was about to let this be the end of him, the thought of the female that was stuck within the tree had quickly raised an attention toward his mind though. Had she just run off and left him there to die. Seriously. That was the last time he would even bother to go and help someone that was being attacked. However, that thought was soon overcame when the sounds of two separate wolves left from attacking him to go and attack another target. Three wolves left, with this amount he was able to easily get a glance at the corner of his eye of what caught the attention of the two wolves. It was the female from earlier, now being able to get a slight glance at her face he had began to wonder once more. Why did she seem so familiar, it was almost as though he knew this woman from somewhere. Where, he wasn't too sure about.

Whatever the case, before he would get himself distracted by his memories once again. Once another one of the three wolves had leaped at him, once more he had parried the mouth of the creature but before the second one could attack him, he had made sure to reach for the disgusting tail of the creature that had just attacked him. "Thank god im wearing gloves." He whispered silently to himself as he squeezed the tail of the wolf, only to hear a loud growl coming from it's lips. As he swung the wolf forward with all his might, it had done it's best to try and bite off the arm of the white-haired male's grasp he had on it's tail. With no luck of reaching it, right before the second wolf could attack him, the two had collided with a loud slam as both were sent slamming into the forest floor with a thud. Keeping his grip upon the tail of the wolf, he extended his other arm to puncture both of their bodies from the top to the very forest floor with his blade.

Leaving the blade stuck there as they squirmed to get free, the final wolf had leaped forward as well to try and attack the white male. With no weapon other than his crossbow and his bare-hands. The male had quickly gotten himself into a defensive fighting stance as he watched as how the muzzle of the wolf came ever closer to biting him. Quickly enough, he had taken a slight side step to allow himself a chance to wrap a single arm around the wolf creature's throat and slam his elbow into it's body. Pressing his own body weight onto the creature to forest it into the ground, using his free arm to grasp a hold of the wrist of the arm that was wrapped around the wolf's throat, he pulled back on it's throat violently until a loud snap of bones was heard throughout the body of the creature. Immediately releasing the grip of the wolf's body, the white-haired male stood back up to his feet before dusting himself off.

Slight blood stains and even bodily parts that hung from the beast had gotten onto his body but as he brushed it off with his gloved hands. He was all cleaned up, at least close enough. Yanking the blade out of the two other wolves, by this point they had completely bled out and went limp upon the top of one another. Pulling out a black cloth from his back pocket, he cleaned the entire blade he held in his grip before sheathing it right back behind him once more. Once done, he had turned his gaze onto the female that had helped him take care of the wolves. "Thanks for helping me out. You're pretty handy with that knife and gun of yours huh?" As he spoke, his words remained soft and his facial expression showing nothing more than calm while his breathing slowly came back down to a slight steady pace from the fast-paced fighting the two had just gone through.

InfiniteEvil 08-14-2013 02:35 AM

She studied him warily, having caught the last bit of his fight with the monstrous wolves. He was certainly no slacker, and if he was her competition she was surprised that whatever rivals Umbrella had actually hired someone competent. Her eyes kept wandering back to his face, the nagging sensation that he was familiar ever present.

"I think I should be thanking you," she finally said, studying him. It was embarrassing to admit she had needed help, but it was one of those times to swallow her pride. If he really was the competition, she needed to make sure he didn't know why she was here. If he was, by some off chance, just another local, covering her tracks wouldn't harm her mission. "Last time I go wandering around in strange foreign forests, I guess," she said with a small chuckle and an almost sincere smile. Her eyes lingered on him for another moment before she turned to face the wolves, moving to kneel next to the closest.

"They sure don't make wolves like this back home," she muttered, more to herself than anything. The beast was almost literally falling apart, and the stench of decay was thick in the air. At this stage of decay, it should have been dead for weeks, not just recently killed. It made her wonder what the hell was going on here- she hadn't signed up to fight monsters, she was only here for the sample.

"Have you ever seen anything like this before," she asked, glancing over her shoulder at him. It was good to pick his brains, see if he had any information about the surrounding area. "I mean, I'm not familiar with these parts but I'm pretty sure that's not what a wolf is supposed to look like." She looked at the creature again and wrinkled her nose, then got to her feet and brushed her knees off. "I'm not quite sure anything living is... was supposed to look like that." She looked up at him, studying his features once more. Who was he? She bit the inside of her cheek, trying to figure out how to go about this situation delicately. She couldn't just outright ask him who he was and who he worked for. That would probably set off alarms, even if he was a civilian (which she was doubting more and more.

"I'm Natasha," she finally settled on. There, neutral ground. Her name wasn't anything to raise suspicions. "Thank you for helping get me out of that mess."

happydeath 08-14-2013 03:03 AM

With the wolves or whatever those creatures could've been considered finally taken care of. The white-haired male was finally able to take his attention upon the female in front of him much easier and try to figure out anything he could about her that seemed so familiar. As he stood there with complete silence as he stared at her face, it was almost as though he knew exactly who she was but yet nothing came to mind. He had been traveling from one area to the next as he came to several different clients before that he would easily remember by their faces, but yet this one woman, she looked so familiar but yet in the end he could never seem to pull up any information on her in his mind of endless lists of people.

As she stated that she should thank him, he simply shook his head and turned his gaze away from her and straight down onto the strange wolf like creatures that the two had just taken care. "There is no need to thank me. I had to take care of them anyway..they noticed me, I wasn't about to just go running for my life." His voice calm and steady as even when the female tired to state a joke about ever going to a strange forest again, he remained silent and completely unaffected by her joke.

Watching as how she made her way over toward the nearest wolf to study it, he raised a single brow as she muttered something to herself. Whatever it was, he had doubted it was anything of real importance to him. Even if she had been planning to attack him out of nowhere, it wouldn't be as though he would have too much trouble to defend himself in an instant. Sure, she looked familiar but that didn't change the fact that she could've still be considered an enemy of his. Right as she turned her gaze back to him and asked if he knew anything about the creatures they had just fought against, the white-haired male approached the same corpse that she had approached. Using the front part of his black boot, he poked at the body slightly as he watched some of the pieces of decayed flesh just fall off of it's body as though it were made of just wet paper. "Whatever it is..There's probably more of them around here. I mean, there were six of them. I highly doubt this was anything of a random encounter with some kind of weird animal we're never going to see again." As he had spoken, he kept his attention upon the dead corpse on the ground.

It was to be expected, soon enough he had turned his gaze back upon the female as she actually thanked him anyway for the help he had given her, but as well as giving him a name. Natasha. Great, yet another thing that seemed to push into his memories that made him feel as though he knew this woman all the more than he expected. Why was she so familiar to him, he had never met the woman before in his whole life; at least that was what he had thought. Obviously enough, he didn't bother to speak up and say that he knew her, she might've thought he was insane if he said something like that and who knew what that could trigger. There was no doubt the woman knew how to fight, that was a no brainer; so if he had to fight against this woman at any point because of what he said there was no doubt this would've been an annoying battle that might've had no end.

"Koyama." He introduced himself back to Natasha with his own name as he took a few steps away from the corpse before turning his head toward the direction he was supposed to be already heading in to reach the abandoned headquarters. Although, it hadn't lasted too long before he returned his gaze upon her with a slight raise of a brow. "So, what are you doing all the way out here?..." He questioned her curiously, in hopes he had kept the fact that he was after the sample that his client was after to himself. On the side of his thought, he did have indeed worries that this woman was after the samething, but if she was at least heading in the same direction, maybe he could use for as some kind of bait when it came to need once it was ready to retrieve the sample. Since he doubted the fact, that this woman was some random ordinary traveler who accidentally just waltzed into a forest like this and just so happened to be this close to the abandoned headquarters nearby.

InfiniteEvil 08-16-2013 11:30 PM

Koyama.

For some reason, she felt like she'd already known that, and it took all of her will to stop herself from blurting out stupid questions. You don't know this man, she told herself, again and again. He's a stranger to you, at the very most a threat, but you do not know him. It didn't get rid of the nagging feeling that, yes, she did know him, but it at least pushed it to the way back of her mind for the time being.

"I was just hiking the woods," she responded innocently enough, when he asked her about why she was in the area. "I was camping nearby, and I was just heading out when those wolves attacked. I lost my backpack in the river about a mile from here." A plausible explanation, if they went their seperate ways and he kept going the way he seemed to be going, he'd find the river in no time. It wasn't a huge thing, and at the deepest had come up to just above her waist, but the current had been enough that a backpack would be long out of sight by now.

"I actually heard there was a town around here, I'd figured I could go there and resupply when... well, when our little friends attacked," she said, nodding towards the dead beasts. The stench, mercifully, hadn't reached their noses yet, if there was any. "What about you," she asked after a moment, deeply curious. Of course, even if he was out here to get samples as well (and she couldn't doubt it, seeing how well trained he was with that sword), he would probably lie, but it was only common courtesy to ask the question in return. It would also hopefully cement that she was just an innocent passerby. Most spies and people working for secret agencies never seemed to care about where you were going.

Her mind finally processed something he had said earlier, and she looked up at him, one eyebrow raised. "You really think there's more," she asked, trying to sound more spooked camper then concerned spy who really didn't feel like having to tango with more to get her job done. They were easily dispatched, but also annoying, and dangerous in large packs. Also, their presence could only mean one thing- the virus had gotten loose, it had spread, and there would be god only knew what else lurking around infected and mutated. Her walk in the park was going south, real fast.

((Sorry for the delay!! I wasn't feeling good at all yesterday and just couldn't find it in me to write anything good.))

happydeath 08-18-2013 06:18 PM

Just hiking through the woods. That was the female's response to what she was doing around these parts of the forest, he hadn't really bothered to ask her if she knew about the abandoned factory that wasn't too far from their location. Even if he had, the answer probably would've been something like she didn't know about it nearby. Although the answer was quite believable to anyone it seemed also a bit too easily led on to anyone to just lie behind it all, she just so happened to have hiked through these exact forests and found that a bunch of deformed animals decided to attack her and even in the end was able to fight back against them as well. When she spoke of a nearby town, the first thought that went through his head was the one town he had passed through in the armored car of the group he worked for. She wanted to resupply in a place like that, there were beasts and things that lurked around that area that seemed much worse than these wolves. "You might not want to head to that town...it isn't exactly safe there. Theres more of these things over there." Koyama had informed as he nudged the nearest corpse with the tip of his boot.

The one thing he had expected to hear from the female which she had indeed asked him as well was what he had been doing all the way out here. Obviously enough, he wasn't about to just spill out a bunch of information of what he had to do in case the female was actually after the same sample and had indeed lied about what she was doing out here. "I'm on some business..I wanted to take some photographs of how this part of the world has turned into. To let innocent people know that they need to be careful when they leave their homes everyday." As he spoke, Koyama had reached into a small brownish tan pouch that was strapped behind him as he pulled out what seemed to had been a small hand-held camera that all one needed to do was just turn a small knob at the top then click to take a photo. The camera itself had actually been dead out of film and was unusable but Koyama had taken it with him anyway since it seemed as though it was only another piece of the world that hadn't been destroyed yet. Even being a mercenary, he still had a hobby of trying to find old things that still was part of the world that wasn't already destroyed. It brought back small bits of memories of when the world wasn't turned into the hell hole it was now.

When the final question came up from her that there being more of these strange animals going around. Koyama had directed his eyes back upon the corpses of wolves around them before giving a slight nod. "As you know, wolves travel in packs. There is never only this many in a pack..and not to mention, there is always one wolf that is stronger of them all. That one is considered the alpha, and i sure didn't see one that brought much trouble to either of us out of all of these ones. So yeah, im pretty sure there are plenty more of them still around here somewhere." He hadn't spoken about there being other types of creatures in the area that could've been affected to create even more gruesome and strange-like creatures since it didn't really seem as though it brought much of importance at the time being. "If you want, we can go search for your bag down towards the river. If anything happens, we'll have each other to back up one another..especially if more of those things show up." Koyama had suggested, it was more of the fact that using the female as some help if anything were to pop up that even he couldn't handle, than if she had caught it's attention he would be able to escape from it and continue on with his work.

(No worries, take chur time when posting. I've been kind of sick myself, barely got this post out with myself dying and passing back out to sleep. lol)

InfiniteEvil 08-19-2013 06:54 PM

She raised an eyebrow when he mentioned not going into town, her curiousity piqued. "There's more? How bad is it?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. "What about all the people, are they safe?" She was partially concerned about the well-being of the civilians, but she was mostly curious about what had happened here. Why was everything turning into monsters? Was it related to her mission?

She looked at the camera in his hands, listening to his story- a photographer? It was possible, he could pass for one of those bleeding hearts who posted about how terrible the world was, how dangerous living life had become. Except he weilded his sword better than someone like that had a right to. He was too fast, everything about him screamed lethal. So, generally, she didn't buy it. But she didn't let on, instead nodding her head as if she really cared. "I guess if that's what makes you happy, to each his own," she said, shrugging. "I can't really comment, since I'm out here camping in this shit," she added with a chuckle. She had actually camped out the previous night, having been dropped off later than she was supposed to have been.

She sighed when he explained how probably it was that many more were lurking around; it was inconvenient, and she couldn't handle a pack on her own if it was bigger than what had chased her up the tree. She glanced back behind her, towards the river, when he mentioned finding her pack. "I guess we could, I mean I dropped it a while ago but it's possible it got caught on a branch or something." She turned back to look at him, shrugging. "It's worth a look, at any rate."

The river wound around to the town after a few miles, and ran underneath the place she needed to get to find the sample. It was the roundabout and tediously long way, but if it appeased him into believing her story more than she would go with it. She could tell by the lok in his eyes that he was on to something about her, although she didn't know what. The extra help in fighting off the creatures would be helpful, if anything, and once she got to where she needed to go it wouldn't be difficult to disappear and go her own way.

((blaaawwwww, sick babies.))

happydeath 08-21-2013 02:14 PM

Right after he had informed the female that the nearby town was actually dangerous at the time due to more of those types of creatures lurking around that area. Natasha seemed to had began asking how bad it was over there but as well if the people of that town were safe. He had remained completely silent about both the questions since he wasn't really too sure how to answer either one of them, there could've been survivors that hadn't turned into those creatures yet but he wasn't even completely too sure himself. He had only told her that it was dangerous there at the fact that he was sitting within the armored car and making his way here to this forest. Other than that, when it came to how bad it was he still wasn't too sure how to answer, it wasn't like he was walking around the whole place to see how bad the infestation had gotten around. Although, he couldn't just stay silent throughout the whole time, he had to come up with something to tell her and he had to make sure it wasn't simply that he was going in an armored car and saw out the window. Seriously, that would've just screamed out to anyone; mysterious. "I'm not sure if the survivors are safe..but from what I saw when going around there. It'll be quite a while before that place is going back to normal." Were his only words on the subject as he took a glance down at the camera in his hand before stuffing it back into the pouch behind him.

Koyama had been unaware that the entire time he had spoken to the female about the reason for him being out here in the wilderness that he was simply taking photos, she had doubted his actual reason. Whatever the case was though, even if she believed him or not, it was none of his concern. This was just another job for him to do so that he could get more supplies to survive in this god forsaken world. Even if she had found out he was working for another company to obtain the sample from the nearby area, it wasn't like it was going to mess up his plans or anything. If the female was going to be up to obtain the sample as well, this whole thing could indeed turn out to be a battle but yet if it became too problematic he would simply just let it go. To Koyama, a single job wasn't worth dying for, there were still many others out there where he could resupply up easily.

Turning his gaze away from her and directing them towards the direction he was heading in, when she spoke of the bag possibility getting caught on a branch or something he had only given a slight nod before stepping to the side and making his way in the direction that the abandoned factory was supposed to be towards. "So, its this way right? We'll just follow the river's current till we either come to a larger body of water or find the bag?" He questioned the female only to come to a halt as he turned his head over his shoulders to wait for her response.

Claire frowned slightly at the thought of innocent people being hurt or killed over something stupid, like they usually were. She shook it off and nodded as he motioned in the direction of the river's flow, starting off ahead of him. "Yeah, let's go," she said, picking her way over the ground carefully. It was almost too obvious by the way she walked that she was very good at... something. She hoped he just took it for her being a forester, she didn't feel like and wasn't going to try and change the way she moved for the sake of trying to convince someone she barely knew (and was trying very hard not to care about) that she was something other than what she was. Anyway, she had spent a lot of time in the forest, among trees, and being very quiet. She was a hunter, of sorts, after all. Just not the conventional type.

She kept her eyes on the area around them and, every now and again, would pause ever so slightly, listening for the sound of something running towards them. She figured anything that would be too much of a threat would make a lot of noise coming at them. Of course, she'd never come across too much of a threat, but who knew. They were playing a different ball game out here, it seemed.

"I feel like I know you from somewhere," she commented lightly, to ease the tension. She was bored of walking in silence; she hadn't had human company in nearly a week, and while she functioned just fine, sometimes better, without others around, she couldn't help but like the company. Also, she had seen the look he'd given her- the same look she was sure she'd had on her face- and knew she wasn't the only one who thought the face before them was one they knew. Also, normal people would make comments. Normal people would talk and chatter and not pay attention, and it was just lucky that Natasha could manage both. "Were you on tv or something?"

((Sorry, kinda short today :c ))

Right as soon as she had picked herself off the ground before she began to walk off in the direction he had pointed towards. Koyama had began to follow from right beside her, while the two had made their ways throughout the forest it seemed to be all quiet around them with barely a single bit of noise coming from any direction around them. Normally, to people who weren't trained in fighting in such environments, the complete silence to them would be a good thing since it meant maybe nothing was around them. However, to him the silence was nothing more than a calm before the storm. Even if nothing in the area was moving at the time, it didn't mean the two of them weren't still on their way to get to the river and trying to avoid all sounds of their footsteps touching the forest floor was more of an impossibility.

Sooner or later, something was bound to hear their footsteps and finally spring out to attack one of them if not both. At the very least, Koyama wanted to make sure they had reached the building or close enough to it before any battle had started up, once they would make it to the building, even if something were to attack them, he would be able to easily lose them inside the abandoned building and sneak back up on them more with ease than anything. Every once in awhile though, Koyama couldn't help himself but to notice the stance and walk of how the female made her way through the forest. Being a mercenary, he was well aware of how to make his way through any area with keeping his guard up no matter in what kind of situation he was within. It seemed almost as though she knew exactly how to do so as well, but not to mention it was almost too similar to his own stance when he was on guard for any danger. Yet another thing that seemed to bring a bit of memory back into his head as though he knew this woman from somewhere, shaking off the thought, he had tried to keep his mind focused on his job but it became harder and harder to do so as he kept thinking it through.

The last thing he had expected was when she had spoken up about her knowing him from somewhere. Quickly enough, after hearing that he had turned his head to look at her while the two continued on their path. So, she also felt the same feeling as though the two knew each other. Was that just by coincidence or was it something more, so many questions ran through his head but for the time being he hadn't really spoken up about him knowing her from somewhere as well. "Uhhh..not that I know of. It could've just been some of photos that I've taken that you saw one of me..or you could be mistaking me for someone else." Obviously enough, the photo part was all a complete lie, he hadn't published a single book or let alone let out a single picture of anything into the world. Although, he wasn't really too sure what else to say at the moment that wouldn't require him to say that he knew her as well somehow.

Within a matter of moments while they had continued to walk down the path, the sound of running water going through a hollow area had caught his attention. Raising a single brow toward the sound of the water, it wouldn't really require a genius to figure out that it was the abandoned factory nearby that was making the water sound so very hollow. At least, once he was done with this female and finding whatever she needed, it wouldn't be too difficult to figure out where he needed to go to get the sample. "I'm guessing we're getting close to the river. Lets hope..that it got stuck somewhere and that nothing like those things had ended up carrying it away or something."

(lol, no worries. It's still plenty for me to work with. x3)
