Andrea finished watching a video and saw it was time to help her mom. She was looking forward to this dinner and hoped it went well.
Anne finished preparing the ingredients for the family's dinner, waiting for her daughter to help.
" Hope I'm not too late. " Andrea said and entered the kitchen. It was nice they would have a chance to spent time with each other.
"Not at all little one. I just finished preparing the ingredients," Anne said.
Andrea smiled. " You haven't called me that since I was eight. " She said and gave her mom a hug. " I'm so happy you are alive. " Andrea said with a smile.
Anne returned the hug, glad that her child remembered that.
"What are we making for dinner. I've been looking forward to this all day." Andrea said with a smile and hoped this dinner went well.
"Lemon-topped Grilled Chicken. It use to be an old favorite of mine," Anne replied. "There's also a salad to make as well."
" Sounds good. I think I remember you making that for dinner sometimes." Andrea said. " I can make the salad if you would like me to. " She offered.
"I would love that, please," Anne responded with a smile on her face.
" What should I put in? I know dad doesn't like olives in his salad but I'm not sure what Skye likes. " Andrea said getting the prepared ingredients out.
"Hm...we may just have to play it by ear and apologize to her in advance. Though next time, I'm sure we'll get it right," Anne said after thinking for a while. She sighed lightly, wishing that she knew what her youngest daughter liked and didn't like when it came to food.
Andrea nodded and got the salad put together and had put in tomatoes , green pepper , radishes and some sunflower seeds. She hoped Skye liked it.
Skye had to admit that she had a wonderful day and hoped that dinner would be good. She really wanted to enjoy the first dinner she ever had with both Ward and her family.
" Would you like me to make drinks for dinner. One thing I never told you or dad was that I was a bartender in college.Started out as a waitress but when I turned 21 I was taught how to make drinks. " Andrea said blushing.
"What type of drinks?" Anne asked, curious.
" Both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. I was thinking of making iced tea mixed with bit of lemon juice and Grenadine. I don't really tell people I can make drinks, since in the past they have taken advantage of those talents." Andrea said .
Anne nodded her head, giving her daughter the go ahead to make the drinks. "I see. No one tried hitting on you while you were bartending, were they?" she asked. If they had, she could always go back into the past and be a..."Concerned Customer".
" They did. But I dealt with them. Most of the guys were distracted when concerned customers came to ask me for help. We had a payphone that often broke and I was the only one who could get it to work till a repairman came.& Andrea said and started the iced tea.
"I see," Anne said, glad that Andrea had friends to look out for her when she, herself, couldn't.
" I just wish I would have made better choices in the guys I dated. They started out nice but often left me when someone better came along. " Andrea said and wondered if she would ever fall in love for real.
"I'm sure you'll find someone Andrea," Anne replied. "Though don't be surprised if Leana has feelings for you like that," she added.
" You think she could? " Andrea said with a smile.
"It's possible. And there are a few rumors going about the two of you," she said with a teasing grin. "Though I think Tony started most of them."
" I figured. I would love to prank him for it ,but really don't want to start a prank war. Those never end well. " Andrea said.
