Gemini nudged Yugito slightly with her elbow. "Why'd you tell him that?" She asked in a whisper. "It's the mission leader's job to tell him the outcome. And now he won't talk to us. He didn't have to know just yet..." She said, and she was right. As she spoke, Naruto stared down at his hands folded in his lap. The look on his face told that he was very upset, and he started to clench his fists in an all-too-familiar gesture of anger. His fingernails dug into his palms, staining the bandages there with blood.

"Sorry...I thought he would want to know," Yugito said as her ears went to the back of her head, clearly annoyed at herself for causing such a reaction. She honestly didn't think he would react that way...

Gemini shook her head. "No...I'm sorry, it's not your fault. You didn't know. Naruto-kun's moods are hard to predict, you had no way of knowing that he would take it like this." She said, feeling bad for making Yugito feel bad.
"I can hear you guys, you know." Naruto said in a quiet voice. "Don't worry about it. I'm glad you told me. It's better than hearing it from Shikamaru-san, anyway." He looked up at them and smiled huge. It was a pretty convincing smile, and may have fooled someone else, but anyone who had masked their tears that way before would know that the smile was just a mask. |
"Sorry, Foxy-kun," Yugito said, though she was glad that he was okay with her telling them the truth. Then she saw that smile and frowned lightly at it. She didn't like the fact that he was trying to cheer her up by hiding his feelings behind a mask. But at the same time...she didn't want to say anything about it. Gemini might have, but she wouldn't. Yugito owed him that much...

Gemini knew that smile. She had grown up watching him practice it, had seen it in the mirror a hundred-thousand times. Naruto wasn't fooling anyone, and he knew it. But for the moment, Gemini didn't call him on it. Let him pretend, she thought, just for a little while, that everything is fine. She smiled back at him. "So, Naruto-kun, I heard that you took a pair of fox ears for your girl. They suit you." She said.
Naruto blushed a little and shrugged. "It's no big deal, really. And what about you? Did I hear you call Gaara by a pet name?" He asked incredulously. He couldn't picture anyone ever using a pet name for Gaara and living to use it again. Unless Gemini had managed to soften him up? |
"It's a huge deal nya. You did it for me after all and I don't think I'll ever stop thanking you for it" Yugito said softly with a light grin on her own face.

It was Gemini's turn to blush. "W-well...yeah. Gaa-kun...he's my boyfriend." She said happily.
Naruto scratched the back of his head. "But Kitty-chan, I'd do anything for you." He said. "You don't have to thank- wait, what?" He looked at Gemini, only just realizing what she had said. "He's your boyfriend? Gaara? You and Gaara?" A dangerous glint appeared in his eye. "I'll have to have a talk with him." In his mind, he was waiting to hear what Kurama thought of this. "Yes, Gaara and I." Gemini said. "I hope that's not a problem. And you had better not try to threaten him or scare him away from me, because it won't work." At least, she hoped it wouldn't. Knowing Gaara, if Naruto had a problem with their relationship, he would step off just to keep the peace between the three of them. |
Yugito just watched the scene unfold, mentally laughing at it. "What's the matter Foxy-kun? Gaara and Gemini-chan are just like us, girlfriend and boyfriend." Yugito said, assuming he already knew this. Then again, Gemini had warned her about him being dense. But he couldn't be that dense...right?
"Naruto, do you mind if I talk to my daughter for a moment?" Kurama asked. |
Naruto shook his head. "They weren't together last time we saw them, so why would I know that?" He pointed out. Yeah, sure. You've got control. He thought back to the fox.
Gemini shrugged. "He has a point, I guess. There's no way he would have picked up on the way we felt about each other back before I left." She said. |
"And how do you feel about Gaara now, Musume?" Kurama asked, using Naruto's lips to speak.

Gemini jumped a little, startled. "Father? I wasn't expecting to speak to you so soon." She said. "Um...well, I love Gaa-kun. He's very...special to me." She said, blushing a little. It was strange, talking to her father about that. "He's kind and sweet, and he takes good care of me, even when I'm being stubborn and don't want to be taken care of. I think...I'm pretty sure he loves me, too."

"I see. While I am glad that you love 'Gaa-kun'" at this, Kurama couldn't help the teasing smirk that found it's way to his face. "But there is something that I should probably talk to you about. Yugito-chan, can you give the two of us a moment alone please?" he asked.
Yugito nodded. "Just tell Foxy-kun that I do love him and hope that he recovers quickly Kyuubi-san," Yugito responded, leaving once she got a nod from Kurama and thanking him. "Now then...I think it's time I give you, as the humans call it, "The Talk" he said after making sure that no one was listening in on them. |
Gemini blinked, unsure, as Yugito left. She turned to her father and waited. "Oh, the talk! I'm so glad. Everyone keeps talking about it, and I actually wanted to ask you what it was." She said happily, upon hearing the topic of discussion. "So, what is it about?"

"Funny you should mention that..." Kurama said with a light chuckle. Sure it was going to be embarrassing as all hell, but it was something that had to be done. Especially with Gemini's mother dead (just assuming here, unless we said so earlier) A few hours later, Kurama had finished 'the Talk' "Now then...any questions?

Gemini looked both curious and horrified by the time her father had finished talking. "I do have one question." She said slowly, as if she were hesitant to ask. "My mother was human, you said. So, does that mean that you took a human form to...to...do that?" She looked a little sick. "Oh, and...what would happen if two demons, or people with demonic aura, were to, um, m-mate?" As far as she knew, she was the only half demon around, and there were only nine tailed beasts. There were no records of any of the tailed beasts "mating," and no two jinchuurichi had ever been together in that way, so no one but the tailed beasts themselves would know the result of such a match. |
"Yes, I did take a human form in order for you to be born," Kurama answered. The other way would have been way too painful for her and he didn't want that for his mate. "As for your other question...I don't know since I've never seen it happen to be honest."

Gemini nodded, thinking. So, if she and Gaara ever decided to...well, they'd just have to find out when the time came. "Okay. Thank you for speaking to me about this, father. And try not to worry too much, Gaa-kun is good to me, and he's changed a lot. He and his siblings are taking good care of me." She said.

"I understand, and I'm glad for you Musume. Usually the host for Shukaku can become insane due to the stupidity of the one tail, so be careful all the same," Kurama said truthfully. He had a feeling that he had nothing to worry about but still wanted to let her know all the same.

Gemini looked a little pained. "I know." She said. "I've seen it before, back when we first met. And when Naruto fought him..." She shook her head. "He's doing so much better, though. The damned raccoon still tries sometimes, to take over, to hurt Gaara, but Gaa-kun always pulls through. And as long as I'm there, I'll help him every time it happens." She added, a determined edge to her voice.
Inside his mind, Naruto decided to pipe up. Kurama, you should probably talk to Gaara, too. He doesn't have anyone to give him that talk, and I think it's probably better coming from you than from that stupid Tanuki. |
'You make a good point Naruto,' Kurama thought back to the boy. "Good Musume. Perhaps with you by his side, your future mate can stay sane. Though Naruto did think of something...can you send him in please?"

Gemini blinked slightly, hiding her blush at the word "mate." "Um, sure. Okay." She said, and walked to the door. Leaning out, she said, "Gaa-kun? Could you come in for a minute?" She asked.

Gaara was talking with his siblings before hearing the door opening. Turning towards it, he saw Gemini's head poke out of the door. Hearing that Naruto wanted to see him, he mentally shrugged before heading inside, wondering what his first friend wanted.

Gemini led Gaara back into the room and closed the door. "Okay, here he is." She said.

"Thank you Musume," Kurama said, as he noticed that Gaara was now paying more attention, especially since he knew that Gaara knew Naruto didn't call Gemini 'Musume' like he did.

Sensing that this may be something awkward, Gemini excused herself and left to wait outside the room.
