"Alright enough talking let's go!" Naruto shouted, his small amount of patience used up for the moment. |

Yugito laughed before following Naruto, knowing that he wouldn't be able to stand still for long. |

The messenger hawk appeared about two hours later, while Naruto was giving a nostalgic tour of the training ground where he, Sakura and Sasuke had become a team. The hawk swooped down and landed on the fox boy's head, making him freak out a bit before taking the message and reading it. "Huh? Wait...no way!! Aw man, Gem-chan got promoted to Jounin! She skipped Chunin completely! And Gaara-san is Kazekage now?! Aw man, I've got so much catching up to do 'tebayo!!!" |
"Gem-chan?" the cat demoness asked, giving into her curiosity for the moment. Not only was it part of her nature as a cat, but she was genuinely curious as to who this 'gem-chan' was. She was also curious as to why Yugito-hime wasn't getting upset...

Naruto looked up with a grin. "Gem-chan is my sister. Well, sort of. We kind of adopted each other?" He tried to explain. "We've been friends since we were little. And her boyfriend, Gaara, is also a friend of mine. She went to live with him in Suna. I haven't seen her in years."

"I see," Blaze replied with her curiosity now satisfied.

Hopping around, Naruto found a scroll and a pen to write with. "Gimme a second guys, I gotta write back to her. I can't believe she beat me to Jounin!"

Yugito nodded, letting Naruto get the items requested. "True, but has she hasn't awaken to your powers yet like you have" she commented.

Naruto looked up from what he was writing. "What do you mean?" He asked, nonplussed.

"Your transformation for one, getting craftier and deadlier with your traps, from what I have been overhearing, among other things," Yugito replied.

Naruto thought about this, and grinned. "Yeah, you're right! I'm gonna write back to her and tell her all about the stuff I've learned!" He shouted.

Yugito laughed lightly at his enthusiasm, glad to see that he hadn't changed much over the years.

Naruto finished writing his letter and gave it to the still-waiting messenger hawk, which promptly flew away. "Alright, now that that's done, let's go and say hi to everyone! I bet they'll be super happy that I'm back!"

Yugito nodded as well, knowing that they should talk to their friends from old times. "I bet they will be extremely happy to see the both of us" she replied, knowing that Blaze would also like to meet them as well...except maybe Kiba.

"Yeah!" Naruto grabbed Yugito's hand and started tugging her forward, a seemingly never ending ball of energy. "C'mon, let's go!"

"I can walk," she said with a light laugh as she's pulled forward for a few seconds.

"Oh, right, sorry." Naruto chuckled and let go of her hand, but didn't slow down at all.

It was later in the evening when Gemini sensed something wrong. She had gone back home to make dinner, leaving Gaara at work. Before she got the chance to start cooking, she got a feeling of dread that stopped her in her tracks. Without hesitation, she started running, her feet taking her to Gaara's office. He wasn't there, but Kankuro was and he informed her of what was going on. Gemini raced up to the roof to watch, unable to help at all.

Before Gemini could react, Kankuro was odd and running after Gaara's captor, despite orders to stand down. Knowing they were dealing with something beyond their power, the decision was made to call in reinforcements. Gemini herself wrote the letter to Konoha, even asking for Naruto specifically.

Deidara didn't realize that he had someone tailing him until Sasori made himself known and told him to keep going.
