"It had better be sooner than that," Fury muttered. He looked towards the door. "Where's Romanov? How long does it take to get one agent up here?"

Alexis glanced back at Clint, worried. "Shall we go get them, sir?"

"No need," Natasha said as she came into the room. "Found her, sir. Just had to get rid of a bit of trouble." She held open the door for Autumn, who limped in quickly on her crutch, gun in her free hand.

Alexis nodded and relaxed a bit. Good, now she felt better, and she looked back at Fury for further instructions.

"Alright," Fury said. "As of right now, nothing in this room leaves these walls. Take a look around. Everyone you see in this room? They are the only people you trust. Something is definitely wrong, ladies and gentleman, and it goes deeper than anything we've ever encountered before. Trust no one beyond this room. From this moment on, SHIELD is compromised."

Alexis grimaced at that. Compromised was not a good word. But she waited to see what Fury would order. Because he said he had a plan, and she trusted it was at least a decent plan.

"I want eyes on the ground," Fury said. "Spread out, I want the building covered. I know there's only a few of you, but we have to make do. Sabatello, tell Stark to focus on Project Insight, he'll know what project I'm talking about." He looked around. "I don't care how you do it, but I want this building covered. I want to minimize any fallout that happens."

Alexis nodded and sent the text off to Tony. "Barton, take one side of the roof. Lennox, you want the other side or do you want to do surveillance from a car?" Because Autumn couldn't be on the ground, not since she couldn't run.

"I can share the roof," Autumn said. "No problems there." She didn't mind letting Alexis take point on this one.

Alexis nodded and looked at the few others in the room. "That leaves the rest of us on the ground," she said. "Sounds like channel eight is clear for us."

The rest nodded, patching in to channel eight.

"Alright, I'll get us up to the roof," Clint said. "Come on, Agent Gimpy."

"Call me that again and I'll give you one to match when this is over," Autumn retorted, letting Clint escort her up to the roof.

Alexis snickered and headed down to ground level with Natasha, covering a somewhat overlapping area. Now she was just waiting for something to actually happen.

It took a few hours for anything to happen. When it did, it seemed to happen all at once.

"There are a lot of agents loitering outside," Autumn murmured into the comm channel. "Armed."

"Hey, when were those three helicarriers supposed to launch?" Clint asked. "In a few hours, right?"

"Shortly," Alexis agreed. "I see the group."

"The helicarriers are under the water," Natasha supplied.

"Not anymore," Clint said, watching he water. "Bay doors are opening ahead of schedule. Something's going on."

At that point, one of the agents inside came over the comms.

"Fury was right, SHIELD's compromised, and it's a lot worse than he thought. It's HYDRA."

"We need to keep those helicarriers on the ground," Alexis said, already starting to move. She glanced at her phone when she saw Tony calling and temporarily silenced her comm unit to answer.

"A bit busy right now Stark."

"It can wait," Tony retorted. "There's another AI in the system, it's wormed all the way into everything. I can't get it out, it's been too deep for too long, the system needs to be rebuilt from scratch."

"Well, now we know how HYDRA's been keeping an eye on things," she said. "There are three helicarriers about to launch ahead of schedule, I need a way to keep them on the ground right now."

"Project Insight, yeah, I saw that little schedule change," Tony replied. "Disable the repulsor engines. They can't fix those without my help."

"And how do we do that? Throw something big in them?" Alexis signaled to Widow and ran for the helicarriers.

"Just disable them," Tony said. "Take out the central circuits, cut off the power supply, whatever you have to do."

"Got it. See if you can get down here, we're going to need extra help with this." Alexis relayed the orders to take out the engines to the rest of the team, already calculating her chances if she just jumped onto a helicarrier.

"Yeah yeah," Tony said, disconnecting. He already had the suit being prepped.

Natasha was already making her way down into the Helicarriers. She could sabotage anything, just about, so she could figure out a way to get the repulsors disabled.

"Barton, how many explosives do you have?" Alexis asked as she threw herself over the edge, tucking and rolling into a landing on one of the helicarriers. She was up and running again before anyone could even think of getting a shot off at her.

"Twelve," Clint replied as he made his way down the building. He needed a better line of sight if he was going to shoot something into the repulsor engines.
