"Dunno yet," Tony said with a shrug. "Something science-y. Or work on the suit. Or something. I haven't decided yet."

Paige was quiet for a moment.

"Do you have any interesting materials to play with?" she asked tentatively.

"Nothing more interesting than the vibranium," Tony said with a shrug. "But the suits will probably be new to you too, so you can play with that compound."

Paige nodded. As long as it was something new, she would be alright with it.

"Anywhere I can get changed real quick?" she asked, looking around the workshop cautiously.

"There's an area back there," Tony said, motioning back to the back.

"Thanks," Paige said, heading back there. She came back out a few minutes later fully dressed, and she tentatively sat on a stool to see what he was doing.

Tony was working on one of Widow's bracelets, but he'd left out a gauntlet from the suit for her. He didn't look up from his work, already absorbed.

Paige reached over and cautiously picked up the gauntlet. It was much heavier than it looked, and the alloy on the outside was interesting enough that she rested the gauntlet in her lap and ran her fingers all over it.

Tony had left it there for her, so he didn't mind. Besides, Jarvis was keeping an eye on her.

It didn't take long for Paige's fingers to turn gold and red, although the colors were swirled rather than copying the pattern of the gauntlet. The metal creeped up her hands all the way to her wrists. She jumped when the door of the workshop opened, and her attention snapped over to the person walking in.

Bruce paused when he saw the two of them. "Hey, Tony," he said quietly.

"Brucie!" Tony grinned. "What's up?"

"Just thought I'd come see how you're doing."

Paige watched the two, staying still and quiet so as not to draw attention to herself. Carefully, she released the metal molecular structure in her skin and the gold and red disappeared.

Bruce and Tony chatted for a few minutes before Tony motioned at Paige.

"That's Paige. Paige, this is Bruce, my science bro."

Bruce smiled a bit at Paige. "Nice to meet you."

"Hi," Paige said, tentatively waving. "Nice to meet you too."

Bruce smiled a bit. "Tony didn't warn me we'd have a guest."

"She's been here before, when Charles had his son," Tony said, already bending over his project again. "And it's not like I'm neglecting her, honest."

"No, he gave me some metal to play with," Paige said, touching the gauntlet again and letting the gold spread up her fingers a bit.

"Huh, the color transfers too," Tony noted, looking at her. Bruce snorted and shook his head.

"At least he's not shoving everything at you and demanding demonstrations."

"I admit I make the color transfer," Paige said. "The gold is just the metal, though. I'm not entirely sure what the alloy is, but there's at least gold in it, I can tell that much."

Tony grinned. "There is," he said. "Not much, but it's in there." He'd have to see about digging out that bowl he'd made of part of a ruined suit. Natasha used it for popcorn most nights.

"Yeah," Paige said. "But I have no idea what the other metal is, I've never come across it before."

"I'm not surprised." Tony ginned but didn't expand on that, instead poking at something in Widow's bracelet that made it spit sparks at him. He scowled at it.

Paige saw the sparks and set aside the gauntlet, now more interested in whatever it was Tony was working on. She didn't ask any questions for the moment, instead just watching.

Tony grumbled to himself for a bit before he got it to quit sparking at him.

"Well, that was unexpected," he said, looking at it. "Guess I'll have to work around that."

"Why was it doing that?" Paige asked. "I gather it's not supposed to."

"No, it's not. Widow managed to break one of the connections in here," Tony said, poking at it. "So I need to fix that along with the upgrade. I'd tell her to stop being so hard on her things, except I don't think she knows how not to be."
