Clerical Errors
Willow deftly unlocked the storage room and went in, clicking on the lights. The room was full of boxes and surplus, without any sort of rhyme or reason to it. Everything that wasn't in immediate use was just thrown into the storage room, and things had accumulated to the point that it was becoming a fire hazard.
|
Following Willow in and sneezing at the dust, Raven glanced around.
"Well," she said, her voice dry, "looks like we've got some cleaning to do." She didn't mind doing the heavy lifting, since she was used to it. But she did mind to dust and the faint smell of mildew. |
"This is disgusting," Willow said, looking around. "How did nobody take care of this sooner? You'd think someone would have realized before us."
|
"You'd think so," Raven agreed, sneezing again. "Well, I can tell some of it is going to go straight to recycling, a lot of the paper in here is growing mould."
|
Willow made a face.
"We'll be lucky if mold is the worst of it," she said. She shooed her friend out. "Out, you're going to sneeze yourself silly at this rate." |
"I will not," Raven said with dignity, shaking herself out a little even as she moved out of the storage room. "Besides, I'm here to do the heavy lifting, remember?"
|
"I'd love to see some heavy lifting in the middle of a sneezing fit," Willow teased as she stepped out of the storage room herself. She closed it behind her. "We may need to contract some help for this."
|
"I may know of some people," Raven said after a moment. "I think normally they do more organizing, but maybe..." She trailed off and shrugged. "I can give them a call if you want."
|
Willow nodded.
"Give them a call," she said. "See if they'll agree to come out. If not, we can find someone else." |
Raven nodded and pulled out her phone, moving a few steps away to call them As it turned out, they weren't busy, and agreed to come take a look.
"Twenty minutes," she said to Willow, tucking her phone away again. |
"Great," Willow said. She sat down at her desk. "Hopefully they won't charge outrageously when they see it."
|
"Hopefully not," Raven agreed with a little sigh, settling over at her own desk.
It took just under twenty minutes for the two to arrive, and Sesshomaru pulled open the door to the office, glancing around habitually. |
Hisoka was right behind him as they walked in, and also glanced around out of habit. The office itself was neat and professional, which made him all the more curious about the mess he'd been told about.
|
Raven rose to go greet them, dipping her head a bit to them. She knew she was outranked in multiple ways, but she doubted it would become an issue.
"Thank you for being so prompt," she said quietly. Sesshomaru just nodded, his nose twitching briefly at the smell of Omega. "Of course. The office looks fine." Now he was just fishing a bit. |
Willow also got up to go and greet them.
"Thank you for coming," she said. "The office isn't the problem, it's the storage room." Hisoka studied the women for a moment. An Omega and a Beta. Interesting. |
Sesshomaru nodded and motioned for them to lead the way.
Raven walked them over to the storage room and then stepped aside, smirking faintly when she saw Sesshomaru's nose twitch again. |
Hisoka's nose wrinkled faintly as well, but he kept his composure.
"We're not even sure what all is in here anymore," Willow said. "But I do know what at least half of it has to go, at some point." |
"I see." Sesshomaru looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Why call us instead of a cleaner, then?" He wasn't offended (yet), simply curious. Because he could give them a number for a deep cleaner if that's all they needed.
|
"Because what IS kept needs to be organized," Willow said. "Since clearly nobody around here is able to keep it in any sort of order."
|
Sesshomaru's lips twitched in a little half-smile.
"Alright," he agreed. "We'll begin tomorrow, then, once some excavating has been done." |
Willow nodded.
"That will be fine," she said. "Thank you very much for your help." |
Sesshomaru nodded and turned, heading back outside.
Raven watched them go before she relaxed a bit. "Well, that went well." |
"Better than I expected," Willow agreed, relaxing a bit as well.
"Verdict, my lord?" Hisoka asked quietly as they left. |
Raven stretched a bit and went to go start pulling things out so they could get to work.
"It should be fairly straightforward," Sesshomaru said. "It may require some nudging, but those two at least seem more receptive than our normal clients." |
Willow did the same, calling the janitorial department for cleaning supplies.
"Indeed," Hisoka agreed. "It's rare a client realizes on their own that there is a problem." |
