"Well, if you need a hand, give a holler," Bucky said. He couldn't help but smirk at the pun.

Doreen laughed. "I thought we were stopping with the puns," she said, grinning as she nudged him.

"Couldn't help myself," Bucky replied, grinning. "It was too tempting not to go with."

"I'll forgive you this once," Dori said with a grin. "But just this once. Next time means war again."

"How generous," Bucky said. He grabbed another cookie, shot her a bit of a flirtatious grin, and left the kitchen.

The grin sent her heart into overtime again, and Doreen stayed in the kitchen for the moment to get herself back under control. She had a brief moment of temptation to go hide in her room until she figured out what was going on.

Bucky, on the other hand, headed down to the gym. He wanted some space to think, and he was pretty sure there was a punching bag with his name on it.

Things were (relatively) quiet for a few days until some villain showed up. Then the Avengers (plus girls) left the Tower, although the girls left on foot with their normal Roomba escort. And since it was someone the Avengers had fought before and scoffed at, Bucky was going along as a kind of trial run.

Bucky knew he was essentially being tested, and he didn't mind. He had the case of his sniper rifle hanging from one shoulder, and he was able to quickly scope out a good spot to set up. He might be skilled in hand to hand combat, but he was primarily a sniper.

"Widow, watch your back," Cap said over the comms, keeping track of everyone as they worked their way towards the villain. This particular villain had a habit of sending robots at them. Poorly made robots that Tony swore at, but robots none the less. Which meant containing the robots and making sure there was as little property damage as possible.

And, of course, Dori was getting pictures of the whole thing, trying to keep a safe-ish distance with her Roomba buddy helping.

"Right," Natasha replied, whirling gracefully to take out a robot. Bucky kept watch from his sniper position, and occasionally took down robots that were getting too close to anyone unprotected or unwary. Although he did tend to shoot down the most around Steve.

Laurel, meanwhile, was liveblogging the whole thing, putting up a constant stream of real-time posts and pictures.

Clint was helping to take down all the bots, while Tony was trying to get to the person in charge. And apparently the villain had decided to go after civvies this time. Because the bots not already engaged changed direction and headed for anyone unlucky enough to be in the area.

Including Doreen, who was still busy taking pictures and hadn't noticed.

Bucky saw what was happening and immediately switched targets, shooting every robot that got near the civilians--and, more importantly, Doreen. He didn't stop until all of the robots were down, and his expression had taken on a distinct Winter Soldier look.

"Alright, I've got him," Tony said, just moments after Bucky had gotten the last one. "Everyone good?"

"Yeah, we're good, just taking out the last few robots." Cap took two out with his shield. He did pause when he looked over and saw the robots all sprawled out disabled near the civilians. "Everything good up top?"

Doreen had noticed too, finally, and went a little pale but waved a bit in Bucky's direction.

Once Bucky saw that Doreen was alright, his expression and posture warmed a little and he relaxed slightly.

"We're good," he said into the comms. "Looks clear from here."

"Good." Steve noticed the normal SHIELD cleanup crews approaching, and he nodded. "Stark, drop him off. Everyone else, cleanup duty." Not his favorite thing, but it did help, and things went faster when he or Thor could lift things that normally required heavy machinery.

Doreen started taking a few more pictures as they all started to work on rounding up robot bits to dispose of.

Once he was on the ground again, courtesy of Iron Man, Bucky cautiously began helping with cleanup as well. Since his 'super soldier' version wasn't as perfect as Steve's, he wasn't quite as physically strong, but he was still capable of moving some of the heavy debris.

Doreen made sure to get a few pictures of him too while he was helping out. That would be especially good when he joined the team officially, as opposed to just a trial run.

Laurel grinned when those pictures made it to her computer, and she quickly picked the best ones to post. She definitely wanted to spin the positive PR for Bucky now before people had time to get outraged over him being allowed out on a trial run.

Doreen was thinking along the same lines and got pictures of him working with the rest of the group on cleanup and making sure everything got back to as close to normal as possible. He wasn't quite as relaxed as the rest of the team, but she managed to get a few pictures of him smiling or snorting at something Steve or Natasha had said.

Those were by far her favorites, and she made a mental note to save them in her personal folders.

Laurel noticed more pictures of Bucky coming in, and sorted them just like she did the rest: each Avenger had a folder where she stashed pictures of them, and the newly-created Bucky folder was quickly filling.

By the time they were done for the day, Doreen had taken many, many pictures, and she was ready to go back to the tower and take a shower and relax for a bit. She tucked her camera away in its bag and headed to Laurel to walk back with her.

Once the pictures stopped coming in, Laurel packed up her things. She kept up with the blog on her phone, but she was done actively updating for a while. Once her things were packed, she went to meet Doreen and head back to the tower. Time to settle in and make sure everyone was alright.

"Everything good on your end?" Doreen asked, grinning briefly at her.

"So far, so good," Laurel said, nodding. "Had a few people looking over my shoulder, but I think they might have been followers. I know one was on the blog on her cell phone."
