Hikari jumped, startled by his outburst, but then sensed what he had sensed. She put one hand on her scissor blades, getting ready for a fight. "Come out now, whoever you are!" She said, angry that someone was spying on them.

"You know...I have heard a lot about the Tenjin Clan...and here we have the last member of that clan..."the voice said in a low pitch, making it seem as if a male was saying it, though it could have been a female that was disguising herself...however, the owner of the voice stayed in the shadows.

"Ark-san...stay next to me." Hikari whispered, getting the feeling that he might try something foolish. Then, "Show yourself, coward!" She shouted, trying to bait the person talking to them.

"Why should I show myself to the Black Sheep of the Starr family...?" the voice asked as it stayed in the shadows. He had done his homework on the team as a whole and was waiting for Areku to separate himself from the team if only for a little while. The fact that Hikari Starr was with him, put a damper on some of the person's plans.

"You admit I'm the black sheep, and you're right. Which makes you even more of a coward. What's wrong, are you scared of the Starr family failure? To weak to handle little old me?" Hikari taunted, turning their words around. "If you're not going to show yourself, then quit wasting our time and go, weakling." She added, channeling a little of Weiss' attitude.

Roland's minion was impressed. Sure he was able to infiltrate Beacon Academy easily. However, unlike everyone else in the group, Uchiha Sasuke refused to be called a coward and having his words thrown back at him was inexcusable. Stepping out of the light, he appeared in front of the two with his weapon drawn.

Hikari, seeing the boy had his blade out, drew her own. "Hmph. You don't look so tough." She scoffed. In the shadows opposite where Sasuke had appeared, Naruto's eyes widened. He had been awake and followed Ark and Kari to see how their talk went. Now, being himself, Naruto couldn't help but step out. "Back off, Sasuke-teme." He warned. Hikari glanced backwards. "Naruto! You know this joker?" |
"Dobe? I thought I killed you and that pale-eyed bitch of yours before I left. I guess I only got one of you," Sasuke said with a light shrug. He was going to rectify his mistake sooner rather than later it seemed.
Areku didn't like where this was going. For one, he didn't like the fact that Naruto had been spying on the two of them and would talk to the fox about it later. Secondly, he didn't like the fact that this asshole was in front of him and had already killed one of Naruto's friends it seems. And finally, it seemed as if this 'Sasuke' knew about his clan...which wasn't good, but he did have to ask him then..."If you know so much about me, then do you know who killed my clan?" he asked as he moved his hand towards the sword that he took out of his quarterstaff earlier. (Sorry for killing Hinata, but I think it would be the great motivation for Naruto plus we don't have to deal with any cat fights (no pun intended) between Blake and Hinata later on. Plus I don't think Ruby would get in the way of Blake if they talk to each other about it either...) |

Naruto growled, stepping forward. "After she died, I promised over her body that I would get you back someday. You just made my job easier." He said, drawing his sword. Hikari looked around, wondering how things had spun out of control so quickly. "Naruto-san, who is this guy? How do you know him?" She asked. "He was a friend of mine when we were younger. But he went bad, fell in with the wrong crowd. Long story short, he ended up trying to kill me, and he killed someone very close to me. By the way, teme, are you still hanging out with that old snake faunice? The pedophile that had a crush on you back then?" Naruto said, getting in an insult at Sasuke at the end. Hikari blinked. What kind of past had Naruto had? "Ark-san, I think we should stay out of this for now." |
"That Sanke faunice? I killed him...about a year ago. He had nothing left to teach me," Sasuke said with a dark chuckle as he conveniently avoided Ark's question. He wasn't going to tell the boy anything...not now anyways. Though he did have to grin...seeing as it was annoying the boy immensely.
Areku wanted to know just what the hell was going on, and why this boy knew about his clan...but he also knew that Hikari wasn't ready for this type of battle. A battle between Grimm, yes. A human that not even he knew the powers of? No. Sighing lightly, he sheathed the weapon. "I think you're right Hikari-chan, even if I don't like it," he muttered. If a fight was going to break out, he would protect Hikari first and foremost. (Ark doesn't think Hikari is weak or anything like that, but he knows that she isn't ready for a battle of that magnitude.) |

Naruto snorted. "I should have figured. You kill anyone that annoys you- that's why you can't keep a relationship with anyone. That's why you're alone all the time." He said. Part of him couldn't believe he was talking to Sasuke again, and trading insults. Hikari bit her lip. "I didn't know Naruto-san could say such mean things." She whispered to Ark. The tension in the air was starting to get to her. |

"I did our village a favor when I killed Hinata, it's just a shame that I didn't kill Sakura either..." Sasuke replied as he traded verbal warfare with Naruto. "But I didn't come here for a fight...not now at least. I was just checking up on a few...prospective clients," he said before using fire-aligned dust to disappear out of the area. |
With an agonized roar, Naruto leapt towards the raven-haired boy. Unfortunately, he disappeared just before the fox got to him. Sasuke!! Just you wait, I'll get you back! I swear! I will..." He finished in a whisper.
Glancing at Ark, Hikari rushed towards Naruto. "Naruto-san...are you okay?" She asked. This angger was so different from the fox she had come to know. |
Ark was also worried about the fox that he considered a friend. "Naruto-kun...are you going to be alright? he asked.

Clenching his fists, Naruto shook his head. "I'm fine. But if he's here, then we won't be fine for long. He's not gone. He won't be gone until everyone is dead..."

"So basically he's bad news, huh? Especially for everyone else here at Beacon," here Ark sighed at this."And here I thought I could just find clues about the person that killed my clan..."

Naruto shook his head. "If Sasuke is here, then everyone is in danger. And if he knows something about your family, then chances are he had something to do with it. Ark-san, promise you won't go looking for him. He's bad news. You won't find answers from him, only pain." He said.
"Naruto-san, I don't know what history you have with this person, but please be careful. Even as you ask Ark-san not to look for him, I have to ask you the same favor. I don't like seeing you so upset." Hikari said, looking desperately between the two boys. |
"I'll ask one thing then. Sasuke...does he know how to use fire attacks?" Areku asked. If this Sasuke knew about his family then he would want answers, but at the same time he didn't want to risk his teammates getting hurt. He could also hear the desperation in Hikari's voice, which was why he was deciding to follow Naruto's advice.

Naruto nodded. "He specializes in them. His whole clan was notorious for using fire-based attacks." He said realization dawning. Ark's family must have been killed in a fire- which made it more likely that Sasuke had something to do with it.

Ark clenched his fist after hearing what Naruto said, having a feeling that this Sasuke person was the reason behind the death of his family and clan. The only question was as to why...and the only one who would answer that was the one he couldn't fight...not now anyways. "You do realize that I'm going to be fighting him eventually. He has answers..."

Naruto looked up sharply. "Not alone, you won't be. I can't let you fight him, at least not without me there. Sasuke is my enemy, and I'm going to be the one to finish him someday. But besides that, he's insanely strong. He was trained by a faunice who used forbidden techniques and seriously dark methods. No offense, but you're not ready to face him. I'll help you to get ready, and I'll fight alongside you when the time comes. That's what a friend should do. But I'd be a pretty lousy friend to let you go it alone." He said.
"Don't count me out of this. Even if I don't fight him, I'm going to be there for both of you. I'll help you train, and I'l be there for backup. I'm sure Maya-chan will agree, too. We're a team, and we're friends. We have to stick together, especially in situations like this." Hikari said, her tone allowing for no arguments. |
"I'm not stupid enough to go after him alone, but just what type of things are you talking about Naruto-kun, or do you not know?" Areku asked as he scowled lightly at the whole situation. "Hikari-chan, if you want to keep up with us, then your training will not be easy. Are you sure you want to continue with all of this?" Ark asked as he wondered what to tell Maya-chan about all of this.

Hikari's face hardened. "Of course I'm sure. I wouldn't have said it if I wasn't. I already knew that my training would be difficult. And I knew that signing up for this would make it more difficult. But I will not back down, not when it would mean abandoning my friends- my team- when they needed me." She said.
Naruto shook his head. "I don't know much. Only what I knew about him before he went bad. He fights dirty, and he's brutal. If Sasuke decides you're worth his time, then he'll go all out. A fight with him is nothing less than a death match, and he won't show any mercy. Or honor, for that matter. As far as the guy who trained him...I don't know. I only know he is- was- wanted dead or alive in the Faunice community for some pretty nasty stuff." |
Areku turned towards Hikari before bowing lightly in apology. "It's not my intention to not trust in your strength Hikari, it's just that I want to make sure you're ready for something along these lines and for that I apologize. Naruto, would I be correct in assuming he wouldn't mind using hostages in a fight?" he asked. He knew a few people back in his clan that didn't mind fighting dirty and while it was a fighting style that Areku didn't enjoy using, he had picked it up all the same.

Naruto nodded. "He wouldn't ind at all. That's what he did with Hinata...just to get to me, he took her. He tortured her. And he killed her right in front of me. No, he wouldn't mind. He would enjoy it."
Hikari gave a tight smile. "It's okay. I understand." She said, before turning to Naruto. "Naruto-san, if you don't mind my asking...who was Hinata?" She asked. Naruto's expression turned bitter. "Hinata was a girl I cared about very much. We were nearly inseparable. She..." He shook his head. "I'm sorry. I can't." "Oh, no, that's okay. I'm sorry for asking. I didn't realize..." |
