Godly Parent & Camp: Eros, Camp Half-Blood
Physical Description (include height/weight and hair and eye color): 6 ft, 125lbs, Brown hair, Hazel eyes.
Personality: Angel is a romantic, loyal and kind as well as caring. He is smart and quick witted. He is good hearted and spirited, as well as determined and strong willed in what he does. He can be care free, but knows when to get serious. He loves to relax and enjoy time with those who he cares about. He is a bit pushy, but only when it comes to things he believes in. He refuses to let people give up on love or themselves, pushing them to go after what they want. He is a good motivator. He is willing to do whatever he must to protect those he cares about, as well as is very brave. He is more of a non violent guy, believing things can be worked out peacefully, and wanting to see the best in people. He is very in tune with other's emotions and what is going on around him, that he at times can be oblivious to feelings or things directed at him. He is easy going, and hard to anger.
History: Angel was born in france, growing up with his mother and his half sister. He knew something was different about him from a young age. His mother would not tell him very much though, but would not let anyone speek badly of his father. She was very fond of him, and respectful of him. She often told Angel he looked a lot like his father, a handsom man. He was very interested in mythology from a young age, always connecting with the god of love in one way or another. He excelled at school, putting himself into his work and his art. He was said to be able to put his passion into beautiful works. He was popular, many friends and admirers. He never quite clicked with any of them, having a feeling they were more interested in his looks then him himself.
No matter what he did however, he always seemed to attract people, and have people wanting to be around him. He did not understand why this kept happening. When he was thirteen, his mother had no choice but to tell him about his father, due to what was going on with him. He was coming into his heratige in more ways then one. He was soon sent off to the camp, hoping that over time he would be able to learn to control himself, and to protect himself. His mother feared that enemies of his father and the gods would come after him, as they had many of the other children. She wanted to protect him, but it broke his heart to part from his family. They had been all he had ever known, and his life had been all he had ever known. This change was a huge adjustment for him.
Over time however, he began to grow comfortable with his new home, and bonded with many of the other's there. He did not mind it as much when people were around, distracting himself with work or life, though memories and feelings would return often when he was alone. He began training hard, and working on his skills he would need from the camp. He excelled at archery, and he found that a way to connect himself with his father, and would often do it to think or clear his head. Other training such as fighting he tollerated, but dealing with weapons he hesitated often with. He never liked fighting, avoiding it often throughout his life. He was peaceful. He had always wanted to believe that people could change and had good in them, if given the chance. The thought of hurting someone, or worse, of killing them made him sick since he was young.
He retained his popularity, attracting others, as he had always done, but most of the time as he began to learn to control his energy, he found that they did like him for him. He also began to make a few enemies, due to his more gentle nature and popularity. A few of the members and others, thought he was merely a pretty face and useless. He has made it his mission to prove them wrong, and show them that there is more to him then just a pretty face. He often takes other's criticism due to the fact that he believes they do not really know him, though when anything targets those he cares about, it gets harder. He has always been ready to help those in need around him, often tutoring many of the other's in fields where he is good at. He has become a "go to" guy for many things. He wishes to one day be able to stop the fighting once and for all, but most call this a fool's dream.
True Form:
Hidden Form:
Weapon: The bow is hidden as a heart charm, when in use, it unfolds and grows. changing shape a bit as it does.
Style: He is more of a distance fighter, due to his bow and arrow, but he is able to fight hand to hand as well, using the bow as a small staff and the arrows as knives if needed.
Strengths: Quick instincts, and reactions. An excellent archer as well, and charmer, he is good with distractions, especially women. He is determined and strong willed, not one to easily give up.
Weaknesses: His want to avoid conflict often becomes a problem. He has trouble at times controling the "feelings" he gives off, at times even when he dosn't mean to, it kind of happens.
Abilities (if any): He can sense feelings of others, love and lust within a person or between people are the strongest. His presence hightens these feelings within people, at times "clouding" their minds which is an advantage for him, for the stronger or deeper into this cloud they are, the more influence he has over them to make them do his bidding. He can usually control the intinsity of this attraction given off by him. This as well as his very presence can also be used as a calming effect, easing tension or violent feelings within others, bringing peace. The effects last for various ammounts of time, depending on intensity, and length people are exposed to him. His kiss rappins this reaction, instantly bringing someone under his "spell" . He is able to infuse his arrows with an ability that make them love or hate others or indifference. He can sprout wings for a short time, this enables him to fly, the longer he maintain this state the more energy it drains.
Fatal Flaw: His dislike of violence and fighting, as well as his want to always see the good in people.
Good Habits: Neat, well mannered, respectful, good listener, loyal, energetic, kind, punctual.
Bad Habits: often taps something when he is annoyed or impatient, when he is angered or flustered, he tends to speak in french.
Any weird habits?: He has a tendancy to make people's love lifes his buisiness, even though it makes many uncomfortable.
Fears: losing everything he loves or cares about.

Years at camp: 6
Godly Parent & Camp: Hermes/Halfblood
Physical Description (include height/weight and hair and eye color): 5'10, runner's physique-- lean and muscular. Mixed African and Caucasian ancestry, fairly light hair that bleaches quickly to blonde in the sun, blue-green eyes. Usually clean-shaven. The picture was taken just after he came back from a quest where there weren't any razors or running water handy.
Personality: Among his other duties, Hermes is the god of thieves and pranksters, and Chance is very much his father's son. He doesn't play pranks that would hurt anyone-- or embarrass anyone who can't handle being embarrassed-- and most of what he steals he gives back, but he gets into a lot of mischief. Aside from that, he's easygoing and extremely friendly-- he considers everyone to be his friend, and is extremely forgiving. Always willing to see the best in people.
History: Chance's mother moved with her family from Haiti to Louisiana when she was young, and she followed in the footsteps of her grandmother, a Vodoun priestess. Meeting a Greek god wasn't too surprising for a person who regularly communes with spirits, and the scent of a demigod was fairly well disguised by the spirits associated with her religion. When Chance's younger brother-- also Hermes' son-- was born, his mother decided to send Chance to camp. Partly to let him know the other half of his heritage, partly to get him out of her hair while she dealt with a new baby, and partly because of worry that two demigods in one place would make enough disturbance to lure monsters despite the Vodoun distractions.

Weapon: A number of daggers hidden about his person. Their Mist form is assorted jewelry; a necklace, bracelets, anklet, etc.
Style: Very rogue/assassin style. Sneak up on them, maybe pick their pockets if they have any, backstab and run away. Setting traps would also be a favored tactic.
Strengths: Sneaky, very fast, good at stealing things, tends to have good luck, usually calm in the face of unusual/weird things
Weaknesses: Mild kleptomania, possibly too generous and trusting
Abilities (if any): Very fast-- pretty quick with his weapons, but he's an incredible runner. Tends to be pretty lucky, what with Hermes being the god of luck (Gotta love those all-purpose gods like Hermes and Apollo!) Has almost a sixth sense for finding things he'd be interested in stealing.
Fatal Flaw: Too forgiving. If someone seems truly repentant, he'll almost always forgive and trust that person again.
Good Habits: Athletic, good sense of humor
Bad Habits: Kleptomania, pranking
Any weird habits?: Does contact juggling-- think the glass balls from Labyrinth. Puts very hot hot sauce on everything. Speaks with a strong Creole accent that gets worse when he's excited.
Fears: Ducks, geese, swans... waterfowl of any kind. They're evil.
Favorite Food and Drink: A good spicy gumbo and sweet tea
Favorite Scent: English Leather cologne
Favorite Movie, Song, and Band: Labyrinth, 'Under Pressure' by Queen, HIM

One. Two. Three. In quick succession, the arrows found their mark within the center of the target. Taking a breath, the son of Eros sat the practice bow aside for the moment, before walking over to the target. He had come down here early this morning, to get some things figured out. It had been only two days since the campers had been brought back here, and already the camp was full of chaos, especially from those of Ares. Running a hand gently down the first arrow he had fired into the target, he gripped the end near the arrow's head, pulling it from the target. It left a small notch behind, where it had stuck into the wood. He hadn't been trying his best, so it wasn't bad. Archery was natural to him, like speaking his native language, or breathing. It was in his blood...as were a few other things, compliments of being half god. He pulled the second and third arrows out of the target, turning to make his way back to where he had been firing from.
It was almost noon now, he knew he should be heading in for lunch soon, but the still quiet of the fields was to nice to pass up. The beautiful green grass, the trees and the fresh slightly chilled air. He loved nature, it was beauty in its purest form, the way it was created. That was one of the things he loved about the camp as well. They did not destroy the natural world around them, they showed it off as it was and allowed it to flourish and grow. A light smile found its way to his lips, as he reached up to brush a bit of hair from his eyes. But there was more to this place then just beauty and pleasure. It was to keep them safe, from things that were lurking outside..things typical humans had no idea of. He sighed, the godly world sure was an interesting one indeed. He turned to the target, picking up the practice bow once more. He set up his shot, placing one of the arrows against the string.
Looking down the shaft of it, he stared at the target. Many had said he gained a slightly intense and passionate look when he was concentrating like this. That when looking at him during a time when he was at his calmest and most driven was a bit...distracting. Plenty of arrows had missed their targets because of this, which was why most of the Eros house used the fields only when they were almost or fully empty. It was better that way for them anyways, and they did not get distracted by eachother. It would be a tad awkward if they did. He kept his focus, the world fading away from around him. Nothing was in his senses or focus except for himself, the arrow and the target now. A light bit of a golden spark glinted off the head of the arrow. Letting it loose, it sped through the air like a knife through butter. Soundlessly and like a blur. Within a mere few seconds, it pierced through the center of the target, causing it to snap in half, the arrow sailing past to lodge itself into a tree behind.
He chuckled lightly, he had lett his art get the best of him. Sitting the bow down once more, he walked over to kneel beside the target. It had been a clean snap, straight through the center as he had thought. It was little contest within his house that he had the best skills of archery. In fact, many of his siblings said he was the most to take after and resemble their father. Since none of them had ever met Eros, and he was humble to a fault, he usually brushed off these alligations. He was a powerful archer though, he could not deny that, the target as proof. As long as one did not ask him to do the same with a sword or something. He was not one for violence, and it was not just because he was a 'son of love' either. He only fought when it was absolutely needed, otherwise his skills were merely used in calmer and more recreational acts such as this. He stood, moving to the tree. Pulling out the arrow, he placed a hand over the mark it had made within the tree, closing his eyes for a moment "pardonnez-moi" he whispered, an apology for his harm.

This was always the worst part of the summer. All the excitement of being back with old friends was over, as was the amusement of meeting all the new campers. Now there was the time to start noticing the differences between camp and home. Chance wouldn't have called it homesickness, exactly... more like home melancholy. A sweet languorous yearning for Spanish moss and live oak trees and the smell of tupelo flowers.
It couldn't be, though. Staying at home too long would bring the monsters around, and his brother wasn't old enough to defend himself yet. When Eric got older, they'd have to work something out-- two demigods in one house was a bit chaotic even without monsters showing up-- but for now Chance went to camp and his ten year old brother got their room to himself for the summer. That thought brought Chance's wandering thoughts around to the second reason the first few weeks of camp were stressful. Hermes' cabin was always crowded, but until the gods started claiming new campers it was bad enough to make Chance envy sardines in a tin. Getting out into the quiet morning air was a relief after the sounds of so many people breathing in one small cabin-- not to mention the people whose breath was more along the lines of a snore.
A convenient tree near the archery range begged to be climbed, and a branch a few yards up provided a comfortable seat without being so cozy as to allow him to drift to sleep and fall out of the tree-- or worse, sleep through breakfast. Despite the precarious perch, though, the morning birdsong and eventually the rhythmic twang-pfft-thud of a pre-breakfast archer lulled him into a half-trance as he wandered through his thoughts.
Chance's reverie was broken abruptly when one of those 'twang-pffts' ended with a rather loud thud that shook the tree ever so slightly. The chuckle that followed was even more effective at ensuring alertness, and he felt the heat in his cheeks as Angel retrieved his arrow and apologized to the tree.
"Aucune rien," Chance murmured automatically, slipping into Cajun. When he realized he'd answered he cringed inwardly at the inane response. The chagrin was easily covered with a smile and a wave at Eros's son several feet below. "That is, Ah reckon the tree won't mind much. Aphrodite's enfants did worse, 'round on this side, carvin' their initials."

Angel waqs not expecting the voice from above, glancing up in time to see a familiar face waving down at him. "What are you doing up there?" he asked, his head tilting slightly to the side as curiosity rose within him. He flashed a smile up at him a moment later however, thinking on what he said. "Still...nature is alive, it deserves to be treated respectfully...just because we have the power to do as we wish against those who can not defend themselves, dosn't mean we should" he turned, walking back over towards the targets. He could still hear the other if he spoke, but he did not wish to pressure him into thinking he had to speak.
At the same time, he needed to gather the bow and arrows he was using....as well as clean up the mess from the split target. He moved to the target, picking up the top half as he glanced back at his fellow camper. "Trying to get away a bit as well hmm?" he mused a bit playfully, "perhaps we had the same thought then." He wondered a bit if the other had been watching, though from the reaction he doubted it. Either way, he was not going to shoo away company. That would be rude. He was not rude, even to Ares campers...stuck up and hot headded as they could be a lot of the time. He was curious as to how the other's day was going, what would lead him to be up a tree quite litterally.
Though, overloading him with questions when he was not sure the other even wished to converse with him, caused Angel to bite his tongue for now. He would allow the other to make the next move and advancement in their conversation. It was the same way with love, if someone pushed to much before the other was ready, it could ruin everything. Conversations and relationships were funny that way, a game of push and pull, of give and take. He did not mind giving, if need be, he did not take more than he needed in any situation. He wondered if any of this was appropriate to be thinking right now, so he pushed idle thoughts from his head and heart.

"Wasn't doin' much... missin' home some, an' tryin' ta get away from the crowd at the cabin fer a while." Chance climbed down the tree a little more quickly than was wise, and barely managed to avoid twisting his ankle on the landing. He was relieved to see Angel had already turned away and hadn't seen the near-mishap. Things like that always seemed to happen to him around the other boy, possibly because of the wobbly-kneed, unsettled feeling that always seemed to arrive with Eros's son. He patted the tree's trunk with a slightly apologetic gesture, and tried to distract himself by looking over the heart deeply carved into the tree. "Probably wouldn't be a bad idea ta get one of Demeter's kids ta look at it. I'd hate ta lose a good climbin' tree if beetles got at it."
The broken target earned a surprised whistle as Chance strode forward to collect the other half. "Remind me not ta get you mad," he teased, feeling himself relax as his usual glib persona came forward like a shield against troubling emotions. "Or are you that stressed out? If you are, Ah hear Amory's gonna start a yoga class this week. Ah'm sure she'd be glad ta have ya." He flashed Angel a cheeky grin, knowing the girl in question had pursued Angel with an obsessive intensity for most of last summer.

"Home seems to be on many people's minds, now that we are all back here" he said, looking over as the other came up beside him. He smiled at the comments about the broken target. "Don't worry, I would never turn my arrow on you with the intent of harm" he spoke, "only love right?" He chuckled lightly, a son of Eros joke. The other mentioned a female he had had quite a bit of problems with over the last summer. He knew she was a good person at heart, but she always seemed to act so strange around him, following him around, leaving him messages and more. He had even caught wind of the female telling others to stay away from him. It was odd really.
"I think I will stick to archery" he said, smiling once more, "a lot safer...for everyone I think." He handed the other one of the arrows, "you should try it some time..I could teach you..if you think you can handle it." He left the other with that little teaser, moving up to the little hut like area that served as a storage, sitting the target by the others. He hung the bow where it was ment to be on the wall, along with placing the arrows in their selected spot. After he was done, he moved to the door leaning against the frame. "Feel like breackfast?" he asked Chance, smiling at him from said spot. He had worked up an appitite, and there was sure to be few people inside of the mess hall. It would be quiet and allow them to talk if they wished.

"Yeah... Ah reckon once you're over th' excitement of gettin' here, all the differences start kickin' in..." Chance shrugged as best he could while carrying the awkward burden of the target. "That an' the crowd makes me miss may brother."
Chance would have continued to chat about his home and family if it hadn't been for Angel's joke. His heart seemed to leap to his throat, smothering what he'd been about to say and throwing his thoughts into confusion. Why do I have to have a crush on Angel, of all people? Why couldn't it be one of Ares' kids? At least it would be easy to hide-- it's not like the sons of Ares are famous for being perceptive.
The moment passed as Angel kept talking, and Chance tried to draw deep calming breaths without being noticed. He even managed a grin at the suggestion of archery lessons. Of course he'd be interested-- who wouldn't? "Ah wouldn' say no, but Ah should warn ya Apollo's kids have given up on teachin' me. Ah'm more of a knife-throwin' guy, Ah guess."
It was a relief to reach the dimness of the hut, where his blushing couldn't possibly be noticed. He deposited his half of the target with the others that were awaiting repair or replacement, and put the lone arrow away carefully. "Breakfast sounds great. Gettin' up early always seems ta make me extra hungry."

Angel smiled, looking over at him as he gave his replies. "I suppose it could be similar...as log as you hit your target" he said, "breckfast it is then." He gave a slightly mock but playful bow, waving a hand for the other to go first like a gentleman, "shall we?" He was polite and one for manners, always putting others before himself. Something caught his attention though, it was kind of hard not to notice being the son of the god of love, romance and all that. He could sense it coming off in odd conflictive waves. He surpressed the urge to ask the other about it. Usually he would have had no trouble at all bring up the fact of potential intamate feelings sparking within someone's heart. But this was still their first week back.
Would it be to awkward? He did not wish to scare the other away, he enjoyed his company. He reached up as habit, slipping his gold key necklace from inside his shirt. It was given to him as a gift from his father, even though he had never met the guy. At the same time, it was his weapon. It made him feel closer to his father, as well as calm and collected. Habit and a good luck charm. He kept it usually tucked away inside his shirt during activities, to keep it safe and from getting caught on something. Maybe he would bring it up later, he was curious of who was sparking up intrest in the other's heart. He gave a sideways glance at him for a moment, as if trying to figure out who it could be. Perhaps it was adrinaline? No, he was never wrong about this kind of thing. He would have to do some digging.

Chance smiled a little at the bow and lead the way toward the mess hall, walking slowly enough that Angel could easily walk beside him. "How's camp been for you so far this summer? You even got here before Ah did..."
He was glad to notice that Angel seemed too distracted to notice his awkwardness. Embarrassment is easier to forget if no one else knows about it. The companionable silence they walked in allowed Chance time to regain his equilibrium and hide his confused emotions thoroughly behind the rogueish mischief appropriate to Hermes' son. The rogue wasn't exactly a disguise, of course-- Chance really did love causing trouble and poking fun at people, although he was careful not to truly hurt anyone.
The smells of breakfast made his stomach growl, and he covered the noise with the first question that came to mind, drawing the subject from his early morning musings. "What's your home like? Heh, maybe talkin' about homes'll make me less homesick."

He looked over at the other, listening to him speak once more. "Camp has been...slow going for the moment" he says, looking up at the sky. "Everyone is already getting back into their cliques and groups...not just parential cliques either" he says. "It is just interesting to see..." he thought about what the other said about talking about home. "I guess home is home..." he says, "I live in France as you know, I help out with my mother and my sister." He smiles, looking over at the other. "Nothing really different about my life then I am sure plenty of others....though I guess you can say I am quite popular there as I am here." He gives a slight smile, "not surprising being the son of Eros right?"
He was a bit curious himself, "what about you, what is your home like...you have a mother and brother...are they nice?" he asks, opening the door to the mess hall for him, before following him inside. As they had thought, there were not that many people still left inside of the hall. Many of them were just finishing up their breckfasts and headding out to their morning work or training. His eyes moved to the line, where there were plenty of types of food set up. He was more of a healthy eater himself, prefering fruits and vegetables. He would eat meet if he had to, but he was more preference to less of it if he could. He wondered what Chance's preferences were.

"Yeah, sometimes it's almost like th' first day of school, all th' groups fallin' in th' same as they always have." Chance considered that a moment, remembering how he'd watched that social dance from outside after coming out at the beginning of the school year. He shrugged the thought off, and smiled to think of his family.
"Eric's ten, an' he's one of Dad's, too. Mère works from home, in both her jobs..." He considered mentioning that one of those jobs was as a priestess of Voudon, but that always seemed to make people think of zombies and human sacrifice, and it was much too early in the morning to carry on that conversation. "Ah reckon it's hard havin' two halfbloods ta handle, but she keeps us in line. We live out on the bayou... don't have any near neighbors, but there's always somebody visitin'."
Chance stopped talking to make a beeline for the tray of sticky-sweet French toast, piling several pieces onto his plate before adding a banana and some strawberries in a nod toward health. Most meals he was more restrained, but sugary and syrupy breakfast foods were his own special weakness. Luckily, his usual mid-morning run seemed to be enough to keep that sweet tooth from affecting his weight. He smiled sheepishly at Angel, especially after seeing the other's healthy fare. "Any other time Ah kin resist, but Ah can't turn down breakfast pastries."

Angel smiled at the other, listening to him speak fondly of his family. It was good to hear about others, how they did indeed enjoy their lives back home. He did enjoy his own, he lived in the city of love after all, it was a perfect fit, a bit ironic really. He watched the other make a choice for his breackfast, chuckling slightly at the quip about resistance. "Everyone has their fancy, what they like and dislike...there is nothing wrong with that" he got a plate of his own, choosing a bit of fresh fruit salad. As well as a breckfast crape with a wink at the other. He chose a table near an opening that served as a window.
It was a nice morning, the light from the sun and its warmth was nice. He waited for the other to join him, looking at him once more as he did. "It is a bit of a shame....separating families for all of this...but to keep those we care about safe it must be done" he thought about it for a moment. He knew people who never went home, those who had the camp as their only sanctuary in this entire world. That made him a bit sad. Along with that, he knew there were concequences of their world playing out all over the world. It was better for them to be here where they could learn to be of use and help...right?
He shifted a peace of watermellon in his fruit salad, his thoughts causing him to get that look of his again. He did not realize it until a few lone Aphrodite girls nearby laughed a bit, whispering amongst themselves. He glanced at them, before turning a bit red embarassed. "Seems my thoughts are getting the better of me this morning" he said, giving a slight smile to Chance. "It is a lot to take in and think about if one lets themselves...this big world we call home because of who and what we are" he tilted his head a bit, before taking a bite. "Plans for today?" he asked, shifting the conversation to a more pleasent tone.

The French toast was perfect, crispy and chewy and syrupy. Chance applied himself to it with a good appetite, completely distracted for the first few moments. Once the first edge was off his hunger, he glanced over at Angel, who sat with a dreamy pensive look on his face. For one eternal moment Chance couldn't tear his eyes away from Eros's beautiful son, until his burning lungs informed him he'd forgotten to breathe. He tried to conceal the deep breath he took as he looked resolutely back at his plate and returned to his meal.
Breakfast gave him something to do while he waited for Angel to come back to himself. He was so involved in it that it was a surprise when Angel spoke. "Ah guess everybody gets lost in their thoughts sometimes... an' at least knowin' things, we also know we kin change 'em."
Chance nibbled idly on a bit of fruit and grinned at the question about plans. "Nothin' much this mornin'. Right before lunch Ah'm gonna run Ty's shorts up th' flagpole, an' then after lunch Ah reckon Ah'll go fer a run 'til he an' his brothers get tired a chasin' me. Then Ah'm teachin' main-gauche fer th' rest of th' afternoon. You?"

He sighed slightly at the mention of Ty. It was no secret the two of them did not get along, being quite opposite of eachother. He turned his attention on his plate for a moment, "it is a bad idea to get involved with them on a negative basis but then again...the two of us always seem to be on negative ground so I can hardly say much on the subject." Ty was one of the few people at the camp who seemed not to straight out like him. Not that it bothered him or anything, he did not have to be the center of attention or have everyone like him. In fact it was rather refreshing in a sense to have someone not like him. Though he would not say outloud, especially to Ty.
When it came to the question of his own plans he thought for a moment. "Hmm...well, the Eros house wont be at the field till later, so...I may end up helping out at the medic tent for awhile" he says, it was quite common at camp with all the training for people to come in hourly with problems. Having a smile that could distract them in the painful medical involvment after was a plus. "I was also thinking of perhaps going for a swim" he says after a moment, taking a bite of his fruit again. He had indeed brought his swimwear with him, and he had no fear of the water or what lurked within. He was careful and prepared, so a nice cool swim sounded nice.

"Ah reckon he needs ta get shaken up now an' then." Chance grinned mischievously, teeth bright against his dark skin. He felt sorry for Ares' son rather than afraid of him. Unfortunately for Ty, perhaps, Chance's method of showing pity involved harmless but embarrassing pranks. And retribution was hardly a problem-- nobody could outrun a son of fleet-footed Hermes. "Does 'im good, an' helps keep him an' 'is brothers in shape chasin' me."
"Swim sounds pretty good. Ah might join ya ef the Ares cabin gets tired a chasin' me soon enough. Be nice not worryin' about gators in th' water." Besides, nobody in their right mind would turn down a chance to see Angel in a swimsuit. Well, nobody in their right mind who liked beautiful men, at least.
Chance laughed as a stray thought crossed his mind, "An' don't worry. No matter how much Aphrodite's girls torture me, Ah won' tell 'em where ta find ya."

He watched the other, he did have a nice smile...Angel blinked for a moment, that was an odd thought to have.. The other mentioned the Ares son once more, before the thought of joining Angel for a swim. When he laughed, Angel wondered what was funny about it? Then he made a joke, typical for him, and Angel found himself shaking his head a bit but smiling. "Ah, that would be good....I don't think the directors would enjoy their students distracted all day at the water" his eyes moved to the other, "but you should come if you have the chance to...it could be fun."
He did not really realize that could be taken wrong, since he really ment it harmlessly. He was a bit to naive and innocent at times for his own good. He did mean it though, he liked hanging out with the other halfblood. It was nice to not have someone staring gaga over him, to relax and chat. "Besides, you eventually have to tell me about those bubbling feelings" he teases, "you have a crush on someone don't you?" He laughed warmly, taking another bite of his fruit salad, as his mind curiously thought of who it could be.

"Ah'll make a point a losin' Ares' sons fast, then." Chance's smile softened at the innocent offer. It was good to know he had a friend, even if his feelings weren't reciprocated. He even suspected-- or at least hoped-- that Angel wouldn't turn away if he knew Chance's preferences. The question was how Angel would react to who Chance liked. He'd seen what happened when girls confessed their feelings for Eros's son, and he didn't think he could handle that. It wasn't that Angel was cruel or dishonest, it was just that he couldn't bear to see the sympathy in those glorious eyes directed at him as Angel softly explained that his dreams were impossible. It was better to just be friends.
Caught as he was in those sad thoughts, Angel's next question blindsided him. He stared wide-eyed, trapped like a deer in the headlights as he blushed so hotly he was sure it was visible even with his dark complexion. His thoughts ran around frantically, and he didn't know how he stammered out a coherent response, "A-Ah... Ah'd really rather not say... Ah mean... it's... kinda private..."

Angel watched the other, his expression seemed to turn sad for a moment, before he realized what he was saying. He smiled as the other blushed deeply, and began trying to cover it up about it being private. He laughed a bit, "I understand, but you can trust me....besides, who better to tell about love then a son of Eros hmm?" He stood after a moment, picking up his plate, "I should head out, I will see you in awhile then" the smile still on his lips as he turned. He was curious now, of what the other was feeling, and who he was feeling it for. Love was a beautiful thing for most people...for some it could be difficult.
Angel knew both sides, since it was at least once a day that someone came to him attempting to say they loved him. He knew many of the feelings wern't true love, merely infatuation and a bit of lust as well. He also hadn't honestly thought about love for himself in awhile, he wasalways trying to help others. True, it would be nice to eventually find a love and settle down....start a family... Right now though he needed to focus on the camp and the future here. When love was ment to happen, it would. A slight pain formed in his heart though, he always felt sad and horrible when he had to turn someone down. It hurt him to have to hurt someone else and turn them down.
He walked out of the mess hall area, making his way to the medical tent. It was still early, but even now there were plenty of wounded campers who needed assistance. He focused on them, doing his best to help patch them up. The nurses and healers enjoyed his company, but he soon felt a bit like people were watching him and many of the smaller wounds were an excuse to come see him. He was flattered, but it was a bit bad in the medical field. If they kept doing this and something big happened, they would be in trouble. He stayed till noon, not quite hungry yet he slipped away from the others and down to the water's line. He smiled, it was a beautiful day for a swim. He had retrieved his swimming trunks from his cabin, changing in one of the rooms, before walking out to the waterline once more.
The water was cool on his feet, he smiled as he looked out over it. The others were off a ways, so he hadn't been seen yet. That was good, he moved into the water, diving underneith. There were many fish down below, swimming around. It was nice against the coral and such that resided deeper down in the water. He wondered where the hydra was lurking, but he doubted he really had anything to worry about there right now. He would relax and enjoy himself, and see if Chance would join him.

The locker room outside the Ares' cabin showers smelled even worse than Chance had expected. He knew the harpies cleaned the whole camp over the winter-- how on earth could Ares' sons create such a stench in just a few days? He shuddered and tried not to breathe as he crept to the locker with Ty's name on it. A scientifically placed blow caused the door to pop open without wasting any time on a combination, and Chance's nose was relieved by the scent of clean laundry spiced by a reasonable amount of pleasant cologne. At least one of Ares' sons had good hygiene-- and at least Chance wasn't going to have to soak his hands in bleach after this prank.
Boxers in hand, he made sure the locker room looked just as he'd left it-- after checking to see what that scent was, for his own edification. The flagpole had its new decoration in no time, and he would have been able to eat before the victim arrived... but his heart wasn't in it this time, and the clinging reek of the locker room killed any appetite he might have had. A swim oughtta get rid of that, an' maybe Ah kin get my head straight before Angel gets there...
It only took moments to change and head to the beach, where he dove in without looking to see who was around. He only wished he could refresh his mind the way the plunge refreshed his body.

The water felt good on his body, it was clean and refreshing deffinetly. He was relaxing with the feeling of it washing across his skin as he moved through it. He knew time was ticking on, he wondered where Chance was. He broke the surface of the water, running a hand through his hair. He smiled slightly, the sun over head. He began moving to shore, catching a few people staring in his direction as he did. He gave a slight wave, as one of his friends waved to him, before reaching down to pick up a towel. He glanced around the beach for a moment, then up the shore lin. Maybe he was running late, or his prank had gone a bit wrong? Angel hoped the other wasn't avoiding him, that he was alright. He smiled, feeling the sun on his skin. He didn't want to dry off really, knowing he would be headding back into the water soon. He ran his fingers through his hair a bit again, turning to look back out at the water.

Chance came to the surface not far away, with his back to the shore. He stood waist deep in water and looked around, rather disappointed not to see Angel. It never occurred to him that they could have crossed crossed paths while he was focused on making his way to the water. He didn' leave already, did he? Ah didn' think Ah was that slow... Maybe Ah'm early?
Early seemed more likely-- lunch wasn't even over yet, and the extra time might help him think. Besides, the sun was nice, and after the first shock the water was the perfect temperature. He turned his face to the sky and watched the golden glow through his closed eyelids. He whimsically hoped the gentle sun didn't mean Apollo was watching the campers bathing-- the last thing he needed was to draw attention from a god besides his father. That always seemed to lead toward trouble-- and not the fun kind of trouble. Apollo probably had better things to do than bother demigods, though. Not when there were mortals who didn't yet know how complicated the gods could make their lives.
... Ah'm sure Mr. Cheerful today. Ah guess thinkin' about that kinda stuff keeps me from thinkin about Angel... damn. What am Ah gonna tell him if he asks more about my crush? Why can't this kinda stuff be easy? Chance stood oblivious to the outside world while his thoughts ran in circles building more worry with as every repetition of his problems seemed to put a solution further out of reach.

Looking out to the water, a familiar form of tan skin caught his attention. He watched Chance a bit, the other seeming not to notice him so close. He smiled slightly, watching him as he relaxed within the water. He moved to the water's edge, smiling as he looks at the other within. This was nice, seeing the other relaxed and seemingly a lot less stressed now than this morning. He smiled, finally making his presence known. "Seems your feeling better hmm?" he called, smiling as he did so. He wasn't ment to scare the other, it was more playful really. He was looking forward to a relaxing swim with a friend, nothing to interrupt them or cause problems between the two of them. He liked that, and since they really were out of sight of the majority of the beach, it would leave them to talk just the two of them, without others gawking for now. He was glad to see the other seemed to be enjoying the thought of the swim.

Angel's voice came as a surprise, cutting through the spiral of anxiety, but at least this time it didn't strike a note of panic. Perhaps standing in a meditative pose had helped calm him down even though his mind hadn't been very serene. Or perhaps it was just that Angel's company made him happy when he wasn't too busy worrying about their friendship ending. "Hey... Ah musta missed you on my way in..."
Chance waded toward Angel, wringing water out of the tidy ponytail he always kept his dreads in. He grinned and tried to keep his answer lighthearted, hoping that by acting casual he'd be able to feel the same way. "You know me, Ah always feel better after causin' trouble."

He laughed lightly, brushing a bit of hair from his eyes. "So it seems" he says, looking over at him. "It is good to see you happy again, but that still dosn't let you off the hook" he winks, before making his way once more into the water. He was teasing playfully of course. The water surrounding his body as he dove in was nice. He turned, looking ip at the sky through the clear surface. A few fish swam past him, before he broke the surface once more further out in the water. He flashed Chance a smile, now further out of reach of the other. It was a bit of a challenge in a sense though. He was feeling playful and light hearted, now that he was with a friend.
He wondered what the other was thinking in a sense, looking back at him from his spot now in the water. He could stand well enough, the water up to his chest at this point. He noticed a volleyball game down the beach a little. He did know the other liked playful challenges. His pranks always led to those in a sense, perhaps he would challenge him to a game. The people on the beach were sure to love and get a kick out of it as well. He smiled a bit to himself, it had been awhile since he had just relaxed and hung out with a friend. It was nice, and even though he did miss home, it was nice to be back here as well. He felt a familiar sense of belonging and like he was accepted here. He guessed that was natural to many, though it depended on the person.
