"Doesn't matter," Kate said. "I'll wear any of them. Skirt or a dress, though, I think."
"Right." After a bit of digging, Ivy found a blouse in white with olive accents. "There's a potential starting point."
"That's cute," Kate said, taking the blouse. She examined it for a moment. "Now what to put with it?"
"Find a cute skirt, something olive, maybe," Ivy said, starting to look around. "Or depending on the shade, turquoise. We'll see what we find."
Kate nodded and started looking around.
"I'm meeting him at the coffee place again," she said. "He seems really nice." |
"Good," Ivy said with a bit of a smile. "Nice is good. And the coffee place is good, that's a nice neutral place to meet."
"I thought so too," Kate said, nodding. She grinned. "Did I mention he's gorgeous?"
"You did." Ivy grinned though. "If nothing else comes of it, at least you've got eye candy."
"No kidding," Kate said. She blushed slightly. "And his wings are beautiful."
Ivy grinned slyly. "Well, you get to see him and flirt with him again soon," she said. She really couldn't help the bit of teasing.
Kate blushed a little more.
"Yup," she agreed. Her wings fluttered a bit in anticipation and a little bit of nervousness. |
Ivy smiled and stopped teasing for now, going back to looking for a skirt.
"How about this one?" She pulled over an olive and turquoise skirt that wasn't quite knee-length but was suitably flirty. |
"Ooh, I like that one," Kate said. She held up the blouse with it. "I like that a lot. Let me go try those on."
Ivy nodded and handed them over so she could go change. Hopefully everything would go well, because she really liked the outfit.
Kate went into the fitting rooms and came out a few moments later in the blouse and skirt.
"What do you think?" she asked, turning around so her friend could see the whole thing. |
"I like it," Ivy said with an approving nod. "Very cute. Perfect for a date." She grinned.
"Awesome," Kate said, grinning. "Now I just need shoes and some jewelry." It was nice out, so she could get away with sandals, but she was going to jump on the excuse for a new pair.
"Let's go look at shoes, then," Ivy said, carrying her clothes over to the shoe section and starting to browse.
Since the coffee shop was much more casual than going to dinner, Kate went straight for the sandals. It didn't take her long to find a cute pair.
"What about these?" she said, holding them up. |
"Very cute," Ivy agreed. "They'll be good for any casual outing, too."
"Exactly," Kate agreed, nodding. She added the shoes to her little pile. "You find anything?"
"Not yet. I've got some black flats at home, or those black sandals with the little heels." Ivy shrugged.
"Alright," Kate said. She grinned. "Then let's go pay for this and then hit up the accessory store. I need gold bracelets to go with this."
Ivy nodded and went up front to pay, grinning briefly. Shopping was good. It was kind of fun, especially since it had been such a long time.
Kate followed her, jumping into another line. It was a sort of game; see which one of them could get through line faster. Childish, yes, but still kind of amusing.
