Chloe looked over at her. "What's on your mind?" she asked quietly from her place on the couch.

"Did you see the news today?" Athena asked in return, not quite ready to mention Kyle yet.

Chloe shook her head. "No. I haven't turned on the TV." She frowned a bit. "Why?"

"Some of the rumors about the haven were mentioned," Athena replied. "They're saying the issue might end up in the courts."

Chloe nodded slowly. "I see," she murmured. "So we may really be in trouble." She sighed quietly.

"We might," Athena agreed. She still hesitated mentioning Kyle; she wasn't sure about bringing in someone new with everything going on.

Chloe glanced over at Tasha when she came in.

"Tony has lawyers, although this is rather unprecedented," Tasha said. "And he might not be able to use them, because technically they're company lawyers and this is private."

That made Athena pause for a moment.

"Then it's a good thing I might know someone," she said, pulling Kyle's card out of her pocket and handing it to Natasha.

Natasha took it and looked it over. She was quiet for a few moments as she considered it before she nodded. "Bringing in someone independent would be good," she agreed. "I'll see what I can find out about him."

Athena nodded.

"He's the one who that wolf belongs to," she added. "The one you three noticed checking out the borders."

Natasha blinked. So he lived nearby. "I see," she murmured. "Even better." Oh that could work very well indeed.

Athena nodded.

"Let me know what you find," she said.

Natasha nodded and slipped out again. Chloe watched her go before she yawned and settled into her chair more comfortably.

Athena settled in as well.

"I hope this all works out," she said softly. "I'm so ready for this all to just be done with."

Chloe nodded. "I'm ready to stop worrying about this," she agreed. "It will be nice to just relax."

"Yeah," Athena said, nodding. She settled on the couch, slipping her shoes off.

"Hopefully soon," Chloe said with a little sigh. "Where did you get the card, by the way?"

"A guy I know," Athena said. "He works at another firm, we meet for lunch sometimes."

Chloe nodded. Well, she'd just wait and see how things turned out. There wasn't much she could do, after all.

It took a couple of days, but Athena was finally asked to invite Kyle (and Warren, by extension) to the haven. Athena was a little wary about extending the invitation, but Tony had insisted.

Kyle saw her at lunch again and smiled, moving over to her table.

"Mind if I take this seat?" he asked, waiting for her permission first. Because he could be nice like that.

"Go ahead," Athena said, nodding. "I take it you got my voicemail."

Kyle nodded. "I did," he said, settling into his seat. "You sounded a little uncertain, though."

"I'm not the one inviting you," Athena said. "Right now, I'm just the go-between." She was quiet for a moment. "Tony is the one who thinks we should let you in. I really hope you don't make him regret it."

Kyle just nodded. He could assure her, but he figured he'd just wait and prove it to her instead.

"Anything I should know before I arrive?"
