Once Kerry came back into the kitchen, Avery decided to venture out and see about greeting the Asgardians. She paused, once she was on the right floor, when she felt what seemed to be a rather tightly bound magical signature. Well. She hadn't expected that.

Loki felt another magical signature, weaker than his own, and paused. Another magic user here? That he hadn't expected, especially not since the magic felt like Asgard.

Avery studied the other magic signature for a moment and then very carefully brushed her own magic against it in wary greeting. The other magic user was much stronger than she was, and she had a sinking feeling she knew exactly who it was. And she definitely didn't want to get on his bad side.

Loki considered her greeting for a moment before acknowledging and returning it with a gentle nudge of his own. Fortunately he could still do that much.

Avery shuddered slightly at that. It was a greeting, yes, but there was more power than she was used to. It was kind of a rush. Once she managed to compose herself again, she went and knocked on the door to introduce herself to Thor. Hopefully, she wouldn't be pinned down as Alfir right away.

Thor opened the door and smiled. "You must be the other warrior. I had wondered if I would meet you this day."

"I'm Agent Littleton's partner," Avery replied. "Agent Avery Maclaine. I thought I would come down and introduce myself, since you were off-world when we got assigned."

"Indeed. We are well met." Thor beamed at her. "It is good to be back on Midgard, I must admit."

"I'll bet," Avery said, nodding. Thor's file has mentioned how much time he tended to spend on earth.

Thor glanced back at the room his brother was in just to check before looking at Avery again. "I fear my comrades are not pleased to see my brother with me."

"From what I understand, I'm not too surprised," Avery said. "Maybe give them a little time?"

"Aye, indeed," Thor agreed. "Although I am not sure if friend Hawk can forgive my brother."

"Hard to say," Avery replied. "He might, he might not. It's up to him." She was quiet for a moment. "Before I go, I've heard that your brother is skilled with magic. Is that true?"

"It is, although the Allfather has bound his magic while he is here," Thor said, frowning just a bit. "So he cannot get into mischief."

"Good to know," Avery murmured, thinking. If he had that much power while he was bound, then Loki must be truly terrifying at full strength, and that was good information to have tucked away.

Thor nodded and let her think in silence, as he was busy looking through some things in the room. Midgardian things were still of interest to him.

Avery continued to think for a moment, and then mentally shook herself out of it. She could consider it all later.

"Well, I'll head back to the kitchen now," she said. "Kerry and I will be here for the rest of the day. We're usually here three or four times as week, as needed, though don't hesitate to get in touch with us if you need anything while we're not here."

"Of course. My thanks." Thor smiled at her again before he went back to doing things.

Kerry already had tea for Avery when she got back up the kitchen and was on the phone with Coulson debating the best plan of action for the new developments.

Avery sat down at the table when she got back to the kitchen and poured herself some tea while she waited for Kerry to get off the phone. She had a pretty good idea of who her partner was talking to.

Kerry hung up and grumbled to herself a bit.

"So, Coulson says that no we can't boot Loki out the window, and we also can't let Barton kill him."

"Yeah, I figured as much," Avery said, nodding. She took a sip of her tea. "Thor's not entirely sure what to do with him, either, and from what I understand, most of Loki's magic is sealed. He still has some, though, I guarantee that."

"Right." Kerry was silent for a minute. "Maybe if we get Clint and Natasha out of the tower for a day or two, let things settle down? I can probably drum up an op for them."

"That might not be a bad idea," Avery said, considering it for a moment. "Or give them to Coulson for a bit, let them terrorize FitzSimmons and Ward for a while."

"No, Coulson won't go for that, they're actually on an op right now," Kerry said. "He wouldn't be able to get the Bus back here for a day or so, and who knows what will have happened by then."

"True," Avery said. She went quiet for a moment, thinking. "There has to be something waiting in the op queue that could use Clint and Natasha. Or we could send them out amongst the general public for a while, have them spin some positive PR for the team, if they can."
