"I just bought us a bit more robot-free time," Clint pointed out, checking his remaining arrows briefly.

Once Avery was done, she helped him sit up.

"Better?" she asked. "No sharp pains anywhere? Or aches that feel like a tennis ball shoved between your organs?"

Kerry chuckled at him and checked her clip, settling herself to watch his back.

"No, not yet," Tony said, blinking in surprise as he climbed out of the suit.

"Good," Avery said. "That means your bones are pretty much healed and you're not bleeding or swelling internally anywhere." She glanced at the robots that were trying to get through her dome. "The protection won't hold much longer, and I might only be able to cast it one more time before I have to let the rune cool down, so Rodgers better get a move on."

As if on cue, the bots all dropped. Tony snorted.

"I guess he heard you," he quipped, straightening up a bit. "Looks like they got Doom."

"Good," Avery said, releasing the protection magic. She winced and gingerly probed her ribcage a bit. "Okay, yeah, might have overdone it a bit with the Algiz and Uruz runes."

"No passing out on me, that's not allowed," Tony said, looking at her. "The team should be here soon and then we can get back to the tower."

"Not going to pass out, relax," Avery said, reaching under her shirt to carefully feel her ribs. Yes, she could definitely feel some angry swelling and blisters around a couple of her runes. That was going to hurt for a few days, at the very least.

"Good." Tony glanced around before motioning to the suit, which picked itself up and formed around him again. "I'm going to clear us an exit."

"Let me know if you need a hand," Avery said, tugging her shirt down again. "I might not be able to cast protection anymore today, but I have plenty of other runes ready to go."

"I got this." Tony cleared a path for them with carefully controlled repulsor blasts, grinning a bit and lifting the faceplate again. "See? Not a problem."

"Good for you," Avery said. She smirked a bit. "A little push from my Hagalaz rune and I could have made them disintegrate." She didn't mind talking about magic in battle; she reasoned that it was good for the ones watching her back to know what might be coming. She would stop once it was time to go back to the tower.

"You have a limit on that, though, I don't." Tony smirked. Oddly enough, he found he didn't mind her magic quite so much.

"Depends on how badly I want to burn myself," Avery agreed. And, if she was honest, she was glad she didn't have to activate any of her other runes. Small magic was fine, she could do that all she liked. The runes tattooed on one side of her ribs here a different story.

Tony grinned a bit when he saw the others moving together again.

"And time to head back to the tower. Come on, no dawdling."

"I'm coming, I'm coming," Avery said as she followed him back to the others. Now that the fight was over, she was more than ready for a nap, even if she had to go back to her own apartment for it.

Tony met up with the rest of the group, doing a quick visual check. Doom was back in custody, for however long that lasted, everyone was fine, all was well. Good.

He even made sure Avery got in the waiting car to take everyone back to the tower before taking off himself.

Avery couldn't cover a wince as she climbed into the waiting van. Yeah, she definitely needed to take care of her runes and then keel over for some rest.

Once they were all back at the tower, Tony ordered enough food for a small army, or the group of them, and checked in on the two agents again.

"Food should be here in like ten minutes, stick around, have a drink, I won't even say anything about stealing alcohol."

Kerry blinked at that, surprised. Tony was not normally the one to invite them to stay.

Avery blinked as that as well.

"You sure?" she asked carefully. Because that was definitely not like him.

"Yes, I'm sure, why does everybody always doubt me? Do I give you that many reasons to doubt me? Barton, why does no one ever believe me?" Tony looked at the archer as he passed.

"You told them three days ago not to touch your alcohol stash," Clint supplied distractedly, examining his gear for damage. "Something about facing the wrath of Jarvis."

"Yes, but I just gave them permission," Tony pointed out. "Honestly. A few drinks, no wrath of Jarvis this time." He walked off grumbling about people not believing him, just in time to go let up the delivery person.

Kerry just kind of snickered and settled on a couch for the moment.

Clint snickered and put his gear away. Then he perched himself on the arm of the couch.

Avery didn't sit down right away.

"I'll be right back," she said as Tony came back in with food. "I have some blisters to lance and disinfect before I sit down."

"Med stuff is in every bathroom," Tony said, putting food out on the table. Bruce was helping him.

"So, this looks surprisingly normal," Kerry commented to Clint, glancing at him.

"Thanks," Avery said, heading to find herself some Neosporin and bandages.

Clint shrugged.

"Post-battle dinner," he said. "You get used to it."
