Steve shook his head a bit and picked one up, examining it. "Nicely done." He twirled it between his fingers with a little grin.
"Thanks," Bucky said. "Figured I wanted something to keep me busy this afternoon."
"You have plans this evening?" Steve started pulling things out to make food. Nothing great, but he and Bucky both could cook enough to get by.
"Just heading out to the clubs," Bucky said as he put away his tools. "Why, finally interested in coming?"
"No, not tonight. I've got a couple sketches I'm going to work on." Steve shrugged. "Don't forget your key this time, punk." He grinned.
"You'll be here to let me in," Bucky retorted good-naturedly, grinning back. Once his tools here put away, he went to go shower and change.
Steve rolled his eyes and managed to have food ready for them before Bucky had to leave. Hopefully he'd be back at a decent ish hour tonight.
Bucky grabbed a bite to eat before he left, and he did make sure he had his key. Then he headed out to the club.
Rea arrived a little after Bucky did with two of her friends. She was kind of a third wheel tonight, but they'd begged and then forced her out of her studio to get some human interaction, and she'd at least had enough time to get a mostly clean shirt. But her jeans were still stained with clay paint.
She settled at a bar with her friends, chatting a bit with them until they went to go dance, and then she just leaned back and watched with an indulgent little grin. |
Bucky was at the bar as well.
"Not gonna dance?" he asked, glancing over at her. |
"I don't dance much, not like that." Rea made a vague motion at the people dancing. Then she looked him over and grinned. "I notice you're not exactly jumping in there, either."
"Not in much of a dancing mood," Bucky replied. "Though I could probably be persuaded by a pretty girl..." He grinned.
Rea grinned. "If we had some good swing music, I'd take you up on that," she said. "But for now I'm good watching my friends make fools of themselves."
Bucky grinned.
"Well, at least there's good company," he said. |
"I'll drink to that." Rea tipped her glass a little in his direction before taking a sip. But she definitely wasn't planning to get drunk, not when she had people to get home safely.
Bucky tipped his glass as well, and then took a longer drink. He only had himself to worry about, and he planned on getting hammered.
"So what brings you here tonight? Just out for some fun?" Rea leaned back against the wall, relaxing.
"Pretty much," Bucky replied. "Just gettin' outta the apartment for part of the night. You?"
"My friends thought three days holed up in my studio was too long and dragged me out for human interaction, which is usually overrated anyway." Rea shrugged and shot him a flirty grin. "Hasn't been so bad this time around."
Bucky grinned flirtatiously right back.
"Glad to be of assistance," he said. |
"So, what do you do?" Rea asked, glancing him over. She'd noticed the marks on his hands from some kind of work, but she couldn't decide if it was metal working or leather working or building robots. It was something like one of those, she was pretty sure.
"Not much," Bucky replied. "Odd jobs here and there, when I can find the work. You?" He couldn't help but notice the stain on her jeans, and it definitely looked like some sort of paint.
"I'm a crafter. Mostly I work with leather and clay. Just finished a set of mugs for an order." Rea grinned ruefully. "I'm probably still half covered in clay paint."
"Not half," Bucky said, grinning. "Just a little. Besides, it's fun to see what other people work with, sometimes."
Rea grinned. "It is," she agreed. "It's fun to see what other talents there are out there, maybe even learn a thing or two."
