"I don't plan on it," Ella said. She grinned. "Come on, you need to see the kitchen, you'll love it."
|
"Alright." Sim let her lead the way, looking around as they walked. "Damn everything is expensive here." Which made sense because, hello, Tony Stark.
|
"Yeah, you get used to that, apparently," Ella said. "I haven't yet, but I've been assured that it does happen."
|
"Right." Sim shook her head. "Well, at least I know you're comfortable." She grinned a bit.
|
"It's nice here," Ella said, grinning. She stopped just before the kitchen. "Just try not to poke the coffee machine or the toaster, okay?" She stepped aside to let Sim into the kitchen.
|
Sim whimpered a little. "This is the biggest kitchen I've ever been in and it's gorgeous." She immediately started looking at the appliances, although she didn't touch anything.
Bucky grinned when he saw the two. "Finally persuaded her to come up for a visit?" he said, draping an arm over Ella. |
"Yeah," Ella said, cuddling into Bucky's side. "Bribed her with the kitchen."
|
Bucky chuckled. "Did you at least warn her first?" he asked as he watched Sim poke around carefully.
|
"I told her not to poke the toaster or the coffee machine," Ella said, grinning. "I didn't tell her why, though, because I know she'll get curious."
|
"Are you sure not telling her why was a good idea?" Bucky asked as Sim moved over to investigate the toaster, looking at it carefully from various angles.
|
"It's an excellent idea," Ella said, grinning. "Just watch."
As Sim got close, the toaster lit up and chirped brightly at her. |
Sim yelped at that, because seriously? Sentient toaster?
"Okay, what the hell, this is no longer the best kitchen ever." |
Ella bit her lip to keep from laughing too hard.
"I did tell you not to poke it," she pointed out. "Apparently, the toaster is named Calcifer. The coffee machine is Spike." |
"I didn't poke it, I was just looking at it," Sim protested. "And who named it Calcifer? That person deserves a hug and a weeks' worth of cookies."
|
"Apparently, it was Coulson," Bucky said, grinning. "He's a nerd."
|
"He's my new favorite," Sim said with a grin. She did pause and look over when she saw Bruce, though. Neither he nor Tony had been by in a little over a week, making her unsure if she'd done something wrong or they were just busy.
|
Bruce paused for a moment when he came into the kitchen, and took a slow breath. Ahh yes, he'd forgotten a bit how much he liked Sim's scent. He looked over at her and smiled a bit.
"Hey," he said. "I forgot you were coming here today." Ella nudged Bucky in the opposite direction at that, so that Sim and Bruce could have some time to themselves. |
"Yeah, I'm trying not to invade too much," Sim said with a little shrug.
Bucky blinked at that and his eyes widened a bit before he let Ella herd him away. Okay that was just... the odds of two Alpha-Beta pairs finding their third in the same coffee shop was just astronomical. |
"It's fine," Bruce said. He smiled. "I was about to make some tea. Would you like some?"
"Can you smell it?" Ella asked softly once they were out of the kitchen. "They complement each other." |
"Sure." Sim paused and then laughed a little. "For once I'm not making the tea, that's kind of odd." But she grinned.
"Yes, they do," Bucky said. "We knew that Tony and Bruce had been visiting the shop, but we hadn't realized she was why." He smirked. "They found their third too." |
"It is, isn't it?" Bruce said as he set some water on to boil. He grinned. "I could let you, if you like."
"The chances of that must be insane," Ella said. She snuggled into his side. "But I'm glad. She deserves a pair who will let her take care of them." |
"Nope, I'm just an observer, don't let me interrupt whatever routines you have here." Sim grinned, leaning back against the counter to watch.
Bucky snorted. "I noticed you didn't say anything about the other way around," he said, grinning. "But it'll be fun to see how much she gets away with." |
"Alright, then," Bruce said. He pulled out his container of tea leaves. "Is herbal alright with you?"
Ella shook her head a bit. "Tony doesn't even take care of himself," she pointed out. "I doubt he'd take care of her in the traditional way." |
"Herbal is fine," Sim said with a nod. "I'll drink just about any kind of tea, although I do usually sweeten things."
Bucky nodded. "No, but he'll find his own way to, probably," he said with a bit of a shrug. |
Bruce nodded and set out three mugs. The third, however, got put right next to the coffee machine.
"There should be some honey in the cabinet up to the left of the fridge," he said to Sim. "We'll see," Ella said. She snugged a little closer to him. |
