"People forget I'm a genius," Tony replied, a bit smug. "Though I have no idea why, it's blindingly obvious, it should be impossible to forget."
"No, you're still an idiot sometimes," Sim said with a bit of a smirk. "Just like everyone else. You just have a faster reaction/recovery time and you can make toys so people forget that they were mad at you."
"I am not just like everyone else," Tony protested. "I make things that other people can't even dream of, lesser techies weep at the perfection of my designs."
Sim poked him in the ribs, although not hard. "Like I said, you make toys. But you're still a person."
"Mostly," Tony replied. His tone was light enough, but his expression became a bit too even for a few seconds too long. "If you don't count the after-market hardware."
Sim rolled her eyes and leaned harder into his side. "Stop that," she said. "Don't make me do something drastic."
"Drastic?" Tony asked, raising an eyebrow. "Like what?" He smirked a bit, clearly issuing a playful challenge.
"You have to be ticklish somewhere, everyone is," Sim said, grinning. "I will find out if you continue to be anything less than cheerful. This is supposed to be a vacation. Or something like that."
"I am not ticklish," Tony said stubbornly. "No, you don't get to test that, I forbid it, you will never find out if I am or not."
"His feet are ticklish," Bruce commented calmly from Tony's other side. There was a glimmer of mischief in his eyes. "Brucie!" Tony gasped, albeit dramatically. "You traitor!" |
Sim cackled. "I can work with that," she said, grinning. "Thank you, Bruce." She stretched a bit but didn't move other than that. She wouldn't try now that Tony was on guard.
"You're both conspiring against me," Tony said. "That's entirely not fair, you're not allowed to do that."
"Nope, we're totally allowed," Sim said with a grin. "Practically in the job description, conspiring against you. Goes right next to providing coffee."
"I provide the coffee, your argument is invalid," Tony replied, though he was grinning. Somehow, the banter felt good. He enjoyed having her join in on it.
"No, you push buttons on a machine and it spits black goo at you that could pass as coffee on a foreign planet," Sim said, settling in easily. "I make coffee. Good coffee."
"All the coffee in the tower is on my money," Tony stubbornly pointed out, still grinning a bit. "Ergo, I provide the coffee."
"Actually not all the coffee in the tower is on your dime, everything below the personal levels is on the company's dime, which is actually different," Sim pointed out, just to be stubborn. "And you do still come to my shop for coffee, so you don't provide all the coffee."
"You keep offering coffee, so that one's entirely on you," Tony said, nudging her a bit. "My dime, company's dime, same difference, really."
"Oi, is not," Sim said, nudging him back. "You come see me for coffee. Besides, you like my coffee better."
"Is too," Tony retorted, poking her in the side. "You offered coffee to me first, don't deny it."
"Did not, you came in with the rest of the group first and ordered a coffee," Sim said, poking him back a few times. "And then you kept coming back so I just started offering when it seemed like you were going to be a regular."
"You remembered my coffee the second time I walked in," Tony pointed out, smirking. "When you had no reason to." He poked her in return, tickling her ribs a bit.
Sim didn't quite yelp, but she did squeak and bat his hand away. "You were memorable," she said, already working the fastest way to get his shoes off.
"Of course I'm memorable," Tony replied, grinning. "Nobody can forget about me, I make sure of it." He reached over and tickled her sides again while trying to keep his feet out of her reach.
Sim flailed a little and then dove on him, getting at his feet and starting to tickle him right back. "Oh you're memorable alright, and you're about to become more so."
"Hey!" Tony yelped as she tackled him. Bruce just sighed as he watched them both.
"Children..." he said, moving back so he was away from Tony's flailing limbs. |
