"No, it doesn't do the cooking for us," Bucky said. "And Peggy only cooks when one of us or Tony is in the kitchen to keep an eye on everyone. The coffee pot does give us all coffee in the morning, though."
|
"Peggy...?" Ella asked, raising an eyebrow. Then it occurred to her. "The appliances are named?"
|
"Yeah," Bucky said with a grin. "Steve named Peggy." Steve flushed.
"Well, she needed a name," he said. "And she's a lot like Peggy." "She is," Bucky agreed easily. "So the stove is Peggy, there's a toaster named Calcifer, the coffee machine is Spike." |
Ella snickered.
"Who likes Howl's Moving Castle?" she asked. |
"Tony, oddly enough. And Clint." Steve grinned. "The movie was cute."
|
"You should hear Sim go on about the book," Ella said, grinning a bit.
"Clint said it was Phil who named the toaster, though," Bucky added. "Got fed up with everyone arguing over the name and just declared the toaster Calcifer." |
Steve nodded. "Phil does things like that," he said with a grin. "He could secretly be an overlord."
"He definitely could," Bucky said with a grin. |
Ella couldn't help but laugh a bit at that.
"Well, I have to go help Sim close up," she said. She looked at them, a little shyly. "So tomorrow?" |
"Definitely," Bucky said with a grin. "Looking forward to it."
"I'm all done closing up, so don't use that excuse," Sim said with a grin as she locked up the shop. |
Ella turned around.
"Sim, I would have come to help," she said. "You didn't have to do it all by yourself..." |
"Nope, I told you I'd take care of it," Sim said with a shrug. "It's fine, really."
Steve and Bucky exchanged looks but didn't say anything yet. |
"Still..." Ella took her purse when Sim handed it to her, and turned back to the men. "Anyways, I'll see you both tomorrow, then?"
|
"Tomorrow," Steve agreed with a smile. He and Bucky left, heading back to the tower.
"It's no big deal, I'm closing up tomorrow too," Sim said with a bit of a shrug. "Now let's go get some food." |
Ella nodded.
"Food," she agreed, heading off with Sim. Bucky stretched a bit as they headed back to the tower. "So you think she's it?" he said, looking at Steve. "I mean, I like her." |
"She definitely could be," Steve agreed thoughtfully. "I like her too, and I've never smelled anyone else like her."
|
"Same here," Bucky said. "But some on, Stevie, since when do we get that kind of happy ending?"
|
"It's possible," Steve said cautiously. "I mean, we've already got each other." He was cautiously hopeful about their chances, anyway.
|
"Yeah, but I mean, look at what we do," Bucky pointed out. "I'm not saying I don't want it, you know I do. But do we really think there's an Omega out there who can put up with that?"
|
"I don't know," Steve said quietly. "I want to say yes, because I want us to have an Omega, but..." He trailed off. It was kind of hard to believe. He'd heard about some Omegas who put up with a lot, but not being mated to two superheroes.
|
Bucky sighed when he saw Steve's expression fall and nudged him.
"We'll see how it goes with her," he said. "That's the best we can do." |
Steve nodded, managing to perk himself up a bit. "Right. We still have tomorrow."
|
"Right." Bucky grinned. "So, where are we going to take her for dinner?"
|
"Not schwarma," Steve said with a grin. "That's a bit much for a first date. But we can always take her to Pete's."
|
"Pete's is good," Bucky agreed. He smirked. "And you still get free meals there for saving the owner, remember?"
|
Steve snorted. "I don't think I could forget," he said with a grin. "But everyone likes Pete's."
