Pietro looked at Brutus. "What?" He questioned the cat

Brutus took a step back and shuffled his front legs back and forth all shy like. Perhaps he hadn't been expecting Pietro to pay him full attention and now that he had it, he didn't know what to do with it.

A second or two later, Brutus rolled onto his back and looked up at Pietro all cute like from his carpet.

He raised a brow at the feline, "can't say I'm a cat person. You're better off bugging June. " he told Brutus before sitting at his desk and starting to doodle away.

But June was sleeping and he wasn't sleepy.

Brutus almost looked sad by his comments and a few seconds later and nearly missing the jump completly Brutus sat on the side of his desk, watching him draw. His little tail brushing back and forth with interest.

Pietro glanced at and spoke as he drew, "alright. This is how it's gonna be. Don't claw my stuff. Don't get fur all over my clothes and bed and... basically don't mess with my room and we'll get along fine."

Meow He responded reaching out and clawing his doodling pencil... Or was he trying to 'shake' on it.

A second later he looked down and quickly pawed a piece of his hair under himself so Pietro wouldn't see and purred adorably.


June awoke, her head pounding, her body throbbing with each and every breath she took. "Hm?" She looked at the blanket and then noticed all the pain medication and what not beside her glass of water. She couldn't help but smile a little bit at the gesture and took to time in downing the drugs.

"...Aw crap..." She'd been sleeping longer than she'd thought. The boys would be home soon and she needed to be tough and make sure they continued where they left off yesterday.

She walked slowly toward the kitchen and stopped in the hallway, stunned at how clean the kitchen suddenly was. "I hope there's some change left over." She called up the stairs before heading into the kitchen to make herself some coffee.

Pietro still had a bit of the cash left in his pocket. To be honest he was planing on keeping it.
His had moved on to reading his comics while absent mindedly petting Brutus.

Brutus purred softly and after about a min of pets he curled up on the side of the desk. He tucked his tail in as Pietro moved to get another comic, not wanting to get in his way.


June made herself some coffee and headed up stairs to the bathroom. She would need to look like she hadn't just gotten into a bar fight with a bull. She let out a sigh of relief as she rubbed some of the cream into her sides. Man she wished she'd had some of this stuff years ago.

The bathroom looked amazing. She might... actually have a bath... Fuck it. She teleported downstairs, and moved an end table to the middle of the main lobby and placed a piece of paper with their tasks for that evening which included cleaning the living room and dinning room when they were done they would be rewarded with a warm meal after which would be homework and then free time and then bed.

She teleported back into the bathroom and turned on the hot water... Oh sweet, warm... bath. She lowered herself into the tub and let the warm water soak away her pain. She smiled, somehow she felt like she had bonded with Pietro in some twisted way... At least there was no more bad blood with him... Now if she could only get Celeste to see things differently..

As farbas pietro was concerned, he had cleaned the bathroom and that was good enough. When the others came bounding home the usual noise and chaos hit the house.

As farbas June was concerned, Pietro had completed his tasks for the day.

About a half an hour into happy hour aka the boy being home June appeared beside Lance on the couch, fully dressed and not impressed.

"Well... this certainly doesn't look like cleaning."

Lance jumped at her appearance. "Shi-you plan on making that a habit?"

Toad and Freddy seemed to be deep in the planning stages of something.

"Depends." She said, taking the towel from around her shoulders and patting her hair. "Oh boys..." She said raising her voice so they could hear her, "Did everyone get their after school snack?"

Freddy perked up and looked over but Toad had his serious face on, "we don't got time for that, yo. We're in code alpha tango cheetah!"

Lance was playing a video game on the tv as he chimed in, "yo Toad, you got it figured out yet man? Boom. Head shot"

"Almost yo," toad replied, "just missin' the outta the gate strap down"

"Yeah. Don't think food'll work this time. How about homeward bound?" Lance offered.

"YEAH!" toad replied excitedly, "that'll do it yo"

June blinked, "Alright... what's going on?" She said bluntly

Toad hopped over and gave June a judging look, "Hmm..."

"What'd'ya think General Toad?" Freddy questioned, "Can we trust her?"

"... Nope." Toad concluded, "She ain't one of us" he crossed his arms over his chest, "you ain't brotherhood, you're Acolyte, yo."

Lance sighed, saved and closed his game, "You guys set up the movie, I'll handle the outsider" he got up and gestured for June to follow him to the kitchen.

"Excuse me." She said standing up, hands on hips. "I don't know what you're all playing at but you have chore-" She pointed and flinched, biting her lip. Note to self, large arm movements aren't wise at this point in time.

Toad actually looked angry but before he could do anything Lance waved him off and gently grabbed June by the arm, "seriously. Kitchen" he urged.

"Seriously, don't." She said, flinching at him grabbing her arm, no matter how gently. She headed into the kitchen. She leaned against the counter and gave Lance a WTF look. She was going to crack some skulls if this wasn't explained and explained fast.

"Okay, don't get pissed" Lance started, "you seem like a pretty reasonable person, I think, but after spending a fair amount of time with these guys you've gotta know where to pick your battles and I'm telling you straight up-do not mess with Toad when he's like this, just let him do it."

"Do what?" She crossed her arms and why didn't she like the sound of this.

"He's gonna fix Pietro" Lance replied, "Operation anything 'cheetah' basically means Pietro related. Freddy's is 'teddy', Toad's is 'green' and I'm not sure what mine is actually. Anyway, you might've noticed Pietro's not really himself? It happens sometimes and-don't ask me how, but Toad knows to fix people... and it's weird. And you're probably better off not being a part of it-it'll throw him off. He doesn't exactly trust people easily."

"... Pietro seems to be doing better today. Probably just needed some time to work things out." June shrugged. "Do what you will but there will be no food till the chores are complete." She stated.

"Fine" lance sighed but agreed. "You won't interfere then?"

"I don't see a point in interfering," She shrugged, "I'll be in my room."

Lance nodded and gave a bit of a sigh of relief before heading back to the living room. "Alright boys, where do we stand?"

"At the ready, sir" Freddy replied, handing Lance the remote with Homeward Bound all cued up and ready to go.

"Positions, yo!" Toad ordered as he hopped into the comfy chair while Lance took the other and Freddy sat on the couch. "Engage!"

Lance turned up the volume and pressed play.

Pietro stopped mid-pet of Brutus as he heard the intro play. A small grin crossed his face, this was possibly his favourite movie ever, he knew it by heart. In a flash he was downstairs and plopped on the couch next to Freddy, "Hey guys-sshh, movie"

The other three boys glanced at each other, then Freddy grabbed at the speedster.

"Hey! What gives!?" Pietro demanded, just slipping from his grasp at super speed. The others rose to surround him.

"Pietro, it's for your own good" Lance spoke carefully.

"We're just worried" Freddy agreed.

"oh no you don't-not this-no way no how." Pietro shook his head, eyeing them carefully for an exit, "I'm feeling better guys. Really."

Toad looked him over with a calculating eye, "You eat?"

"Yes, in fact. Loads" Pietro assured

"He does look a bit better" Lance agreed.

But Toad was not one to miss a beat-at least in this situation, "He's still hiding something. Get him yo!" They lunged but Pietro was, of course, faster and dodged out of the way. The pursuit continued for some time, spilling out into the back yard.
