"Horatio..." Ceres stood up and took a closer look at the papers. She felt her stomach twist and turn, "...And because we can't fix the holes in the system, anything could happen." Usually when the system broke on this plane, the sisters would jump in and fix them but this time they hadn't... This time they couldn't because of Savage.
To fix a hole would expose them and without their familiars. "...By finding you... we've caused such a dramatic shift in the scales." She was of course referring to Savage hunting them. |
"Please tell me you aren't looking at the map" Horatio sighed, "that... those things are not what you think they are."
"No..." She shook her head, "Not in relation to what you have here. I just meant... we've always fixed the holes but in this timeline... there are so many holes that need repairing... and if we do we'll expose ourselves.... So many ripples... Anything could happen..."
Horatio stepped up next to her, his fingers trailing from one event to another, "And these... these are the ones I allowed."
Ceres began to tremble, "You don't understand, if not properly sealed... they'll grow bigger and bigger till we have no choice but to expose ourselves to stop them or everything will.... Vesta knows this... that's why she always looks off out the window with such a sad face..."
"I know" Horatio turned away angrily, "and I care. I do. But... there are some things that need to happen"
Ceres blinked and grabbed his hand, "No I never said you didn't. Bad and Good, black and white, they-"
"Ceres! Ceres!" "Papa please! He's my friend! He's my special." "I'm sorry Ceres. I really am..." The man said as he placed his hand on her forehead, his hand glowing. Ceres stumbled sideways into the wall, several strings breaking loose of their thumb tacks. "They go... hand in hand." She said softly, what had just... |
"Ceres?" Horatio reached his hand in her direction, "Are you alright?"
Strings, she felt like someone was pulling at her heart strings.
She stared off for a moment, "I... Sorry. I think I remembered something. A glimpse... Because I was so little, my memories are foggy... But I think I remember something... something sad... like someone ripped a hole in my heart." She sniffed, why did it make her feel so sad? What had that glimpse been about? |
Horati's hand was still outstretched, searching for her, "Are you alright?" he asked again
Ceres eyes fell on the photo of the symbol that she'd appeared in, in front of the brotherhood house. Voices and images started flashing from her first live over and over again in her mind. She grabbed her head and slammed her eyes shut but they kept coming, her mind was trying... trying to remember. Try to...
Ceres. She gasped and turned. The man who had taken her stood before her but she wasn't in Horatio's room, it was all blue. 'Light and dark. Walk hand in hand, walk across this vacant land. Two bodies... one soul.' His mouth never moved but the voice echoed as he took her hand into his and held it tightly between them, staring at her between the knuckles. Ceres stumbled backward into Horatio, gasping and just starting yelling random nonsense in Japanese. |
"Ceres-Ceres!" Horatio caught her, albeit a little clumsily as she fell into him and they both stumbled to the floor, "Ceres, snap out of it" he spoke to her in Japanese again, "Everything is alright. Just breathe"
She was trembling, "He was here... that man... on another plane. Why does... I know him... How do I know him..." She mumbled slowly calming down.
"Who? Who was here?" Horatio questioned, he couldn't make any sense from her.
"The man from Japan... the one who helped us escape the ninjas..."
"What?!" Horatio raised his head, the world freezing in place around them so he could look around quickly.
There was no one in sight, though right where Ceres had been standing were deep red sparkles slowly falling to the floor, much like when June teleported.
"It...it wasn't on this plane... it was all blue..." She was trying to remember how she knew him. A sharp pain filled her chest as the sound of crackling came from her gem. "AH!" She hissed, biting her lip. |
"Deep breaths" he assured her, "Stop trying to force it, these things come in their own time" he placed a hand on her gem, trying to soothe her.
Ceres shook her head, "No... it... something's blocking it..." She sighed, the warmth of his hand calming her down. "...That was weird."
Horatio held her close for a moment. She had really begun to worry him.
After a moment, she pulled away, "I'm ok now.. Let's finish fixing your hair ok?" She said sweetly wanting to distract herself from the last 10 mins.
"um... alright" Horatio replied, letting her go and turning aroudn again so she could get to his hair, "... thanks for coming to see me Ceres"
"You're welcome... sorry it got weird.."
"I'm used to it" Horatio shrugged, then grinned a little, "you're always weird."
She blushed, "Who do you think I get it from?" She said poking the back of his head, before going back to work on his rather messy hair.
