"Everyone says that" hank replied, finding his words a little too honest, "but they do not see the fear in people's eyes the way I do. It is very different when you find yourself on the receiving end instead of watching from afar. It makes you truly feel like becoming the monster that they see" he paused a moment, realizing what he had just said, "ah... apologies. I'm not sure why I said that... "

"I should be the one apologizing." She took a step or two back, "My presence tends to...let one's words flow like a river." She said trying to think of a way to word it. "But you are not along in that feeling. My sisters and I have all faced those problems. People have always stared or hurried away when they see our hair or our gems. Colours which can not be made from a bottle. But instead of giving in, we grow stronger from the experience and chrama will come around sooner or later... She always does."

Beast nodded, "I had better be on my best behaviour around you then" he joked, "who knows what secrets you may learn. Shall we have tea?"

Polly couldn't help but smile, "That only happens when I..." she took hold of his hand, "What's your favorite colour!"

A rush filled from starting from his hand and up to his lips, like a river was floating the question up to him..

"BLUE!" He suddenly proclaimed loudly, he didn't even have a chance to think or appreciate the irony of it.

Polly jumped back, "Sorry. Too intense... Are you ok?" She asked looking at her hand. It was true than... she really couldn't keep it under wears without her familiar.

Beast cleared his throat and nodded, "ah... yes.... it's alright. You surprised me a little there"

"I surprised my self even..." She continued to stare at her hand, feeling more and more the need to retreat back to her room. Perhaps having tea would not be a wise choice. "I'm afraid I need to go lay down, Dr. McCoy. Excuse me." She said starting to leave.

"I don't think that would be best" Beast replied with a kind voice, "I catch myself doing it sometimes. Things get just the slightest bit out of control, no damage is done and yet you want to crawl into a hole and hide. It will only make you feel worse" he placed a hand on her shoulder gently, "please, stay. It is already forgotten. Have tea with us"

A small smile slowly crept onto his face, "Very well... Don't worry, it only works if I ask you questions and if my hands are touching you." She said softly. "Presence wise... still in effect though...." She paused and swallowed, "Would... Would it be rude to ask for a hug from someone you've just met?"

"That depends" he replied with a grin, "If the person you just met is blue and fuzzy, then they are always receptive to a hug. I can't vouch for anyone else though"

Without waiting another moment, Polly buried her face into Hank's fur. Her grip loose but tight enough to give off the feeling that she needed this hug. A sign of trust but more so a wanting need to feel safe. Who knows how long it would be till that man found them.

Sure they were on a different continent but the lengths this man went through to get to them. The time it must have taken to track down all their families and then have them assassinated all at once...

Hank closed his eyes and hugged her gently, rocking her back and forth just a little as a purr rumbled from his chest. "I've developed an increased appreciate for milk. It's been three hours since I trimmed my nails and they're still sharp. I hold concerns in regard to clogging the shower drain, everyone will know it's me." he mumbled random, innocent truths as her ability was still in affect on him, though at least he was able to keep it to simple things so he didn't really mind.

Polly wasn't really paying much attention to his ramblings. "This place...Is it safe?" She asked finally.

"Safer than anywhere I have seen" Beast replied, "I'd pity the man who crosses a force such as Xavier and Eric combined."

"Well that's reassuring." She said letting go.

"Trust me" Beast tilted her chin up to look at him, "This place is safe."

And so it was, safe and calm.

For about a year or two. Mind you, this moment had been building. It wasn't terribly uncommon to see Charles and Eric fighting over something, though they tried to keep it behind closed doors there was still the occasional raised voice that echoed down the hall. Until finally...

"ENOUGH" Eric snapped, "If you cannot see reason then there is nothing yet left for us to discuss." he turned sharply and marched out of the office.

"Eric!" Charles pursued him to the front door, "You are blinded by your anger-"

"And you aren't?" Eric retorted, "how can you not be? After all that has happened, how can you possibly still believe in those homosapiens?" Charles tried to respond but Eric grabbed his coat and opened the front door, "Enough is enough Charles. Talk to me when you have seen reason"

June had awoken from her sleep to Eric's raised voice. She made her way downstairs and hid behind a pillar holding a vase as the two argued. They were at it again.

Her eyes grew wide when he grabbed his coat and headed for the door. "NO!" June teleported over, wrapping her arms around him. "Please don't go, Papa." She'd grown rather fond of the man of metal. Enjoyed his company.

Eric paused and placed a gentle hand on June's shoulder, "I'm sorry my dear but I think the time has come."

"You don't have to leave Eric" Charles insisted, "just-"

"Just continue doing things your way?" Eric shot him a glare, "No. I have waited long enough Charles. They won't change, they are incapable of it and I will not cower behind these walls any longer." he patted June's head, "Remember that child. The world out there will only change if you make it so."

Tears began to form, "No, don't leave me please."

Eric paused, "... Very well. Get your things" he replied.

"Absolutely not" Charles objected, "She is not going with you"

"And why is that?" Eric looked to the man, "Because it isn't safe out there?"

June smiled widely before disappearing and then reappearing with a jean backpack. She didn't have much, just a few clothes and a couple adventure books.

"If she wants to go then let her." Victoria said coming down the stairs.
"Victoria..." June looked down a bit of sadness in her eye.
Victoria lifted her chin, "It's in your nature to want to be free. This past year alone I've seen you struggle with being contend to this one place. We'll miss you but we'll always be here when you want to come home." She gave June a hug. "Make sure to write ok?"

"Ok..."

Charles looked to Victoria, he still believed this to be an absolutely terrible idea and yet... he respected Victoria in regards to all decisions about her sisters. Charles also gave June a hug, "Be safe my dear" he whispered to her before looking to Eric again, "If you allow any harm to come to her"

"Not to worry Charles" Eric replied stiffly, "The homo-sapiens would die long before getting near either of us." though that only brought a deeper frown to Xavier's face.

"Are you sure?" Victoria asked one more time.
"Well, someone has to try and find our familiars..."
"Be safe sis. If you need anything, just call."

And so they left. Charles was in a foul mood about it for weeks.
