Laura spent a few moments giving Moose some attention before she looked at the other brother. He really was easy on the eyes. Shaking her head a bit, Laura shooed Moose out of the way as Sam brought out his and Tammy's horses.

"All ready?" he asked the girls, holding Tammy's horse so she could mount easily.

"Ready when you are," Tammy said, giving Sam a quick kiss before mounting her horse.

Dean just waited for Laura, patiently holding the horse for her. He was kind of surprised, he hadn't expected her to be able to dress properly for a trail ride. That warmed him up to her slightly, and he gave her a quick wink when she got closer.

Sam grinned and mounted his own and then turned to make sure Laura would be fine.

But Laura surprised him when she went straight up to her horse and put her hand in front of the mare's nose to sniff. "Hi gorgeous," she murmured, rubbing the mare's neck. "Ready to go for a ride?" When the mare whickered at her, she grinned and moved to the side, mounting easily and taking the reins.

Dean raised an eyebrow when Laura worked with the horse like an old pro. That was something he hadn't expected. After a moment, though, he got up onto his own horse. Time for the trail ride.

Sam took the lead with Tammy, grinning.

"You didn't tell us she's been around horses before," he said, looking at Tammy.

Laura followed after them, letting the mare warm up a bit and not trying to pull anything faster than a walk for the moment.

"You didn't ask," Tammy replied with a bit of a grin. "Though that was a bit faster than I expected, too."

Dean let Sam and Tammy take the lead. He didn't mind that, it meant he didn't have to be around the lovebirds. Instead, he hung back near Laura.

Sam chuckled and shook his head. "Well, that's a good sign. Means Dean won't be grumbling about her all weekend."

Laura was fine riding with him, letting the other two get a little bit ahead of them. Just out of easy earshot.

"No kidding," Tammy said, grinning. "He really has no patience for bad riders, does he?"

"I swear he should just propose already," Dean grumbled, watching his brother and Tammy.

"None whatsoever," Sam said with a grin. "Which means that I have to deal with them mostly." He shook his head.

Laura chuckled. "I know," she said. "They're nuts over each other. She talks about him a lot at work, can't wait to get off for the weekend."

"I bet you're good with them, though," Tammy said. "Probably more patient."

"He pines for her all week," Dean agreed, nodding. "And they give each other these big cow eyes all weekend."

"Usually," Sam agreed. "Sometimes they test my patience. But they're paying customers, so what can you do?"

"Oh god, the eyes," Laura agreed with a little groan. "I swear she gets the eyes just talking about him, usually right around Wednesday."

"Well, now you don't have to deal with them for a few days," Tammy said, grinning.

Dean snickered.

"Sounds about right," he said. "Name's Dean, by the way."

"Good thing. I'd much rather have you here." Sam grinned at her.

"Laura. Nice to meet you, Dean." She grinned a bit. "Sounds like you have just as much trouble with those two as I do."

"And I'd much rather have you all to myself, so it works," Tammy said teasingly.

"Do I ever," Dean said. "I keep telling him to just pop the question already, you can tell he's dying to."

"Pretty sure she wants him to," Laura agreed, rolling her eyes. "Oh well. Maybe he'll do it soon."

"Maybe you and I can sneak off into the barn again tonight," Tammy said, grinning a bit. "I can talk Moose into keeping watch."

"I hope so," Dean said. "So what about you, what do you do? I mean, all I know is you're Tam's cousin."

Sam grinned slowly. "Maybe," he agreed. "We'll see how tired everyone is tonight."

"I work at the diner with her, but we have our own places." Laura shrugged. "Not much else to know about me."

"I'll convince Moose to stand guard for us," Tammy said. "It won't be hard. We'll see what happens after dinner."

"What, no hobbies or anything?" Dean asked. "I'm not asking for a life story or anything. Just figured we could get to know each other some."

Sam nodded. "Sounds like a plan," he agreed with a little grin. "I'd say we don't have to sneak around, but with my parents..."

Laura chuckled. "I read, I knit, I make blankets. Sometimes I donate the blankets, sometimes I sell them." She shrugged. "I used to love horseback riding, but that was a while ago, and it's hard to have a horse on a waitress's salary."

"Yeah, I'd rather your parents don't catch us," Tammy agreed, grinning a bit. "Having Dean catch us that one time was bad enough."

"No kidding," Dean said. "So why a waitress? Because you like the job, or because there's not much else right now?"

"Seriously. He teased me about it for weeks." Sam rolled his eyes.

"Not much else to do." Laura shrugged. "I suppose there are other jobs I can take, but there aren't many places that treat women who want to work with horses decently. Mostly they hire men or make fun of the women."

"Sure he wasn't just jealous?" Tammy teased, grinning.

That made Dean pause. She wanted to work with horses, and clearly she was good with the animals. And his old man had been grumbling lately about wanting to hire another hand or two...

"I'm sure something will crop up," he said after a second or so.

"He hasn't shown an interest in any one girl," Sam said with a shrug. "We'd know if he had."

"I hope so. I don't really want to work in a diner for the rest of my life." Laura smiled at him.

"True," Tammy said. "But still." She grinned a bit.

"Nobody does," Dean pointed out. "Not unless there's something going on nobody else knows about, that's for sure."

Sam grinned. "Hey, if I were in his shoes, I'd be jealous of me too."

"Seriously." Laura shook her head. "Anyway, what about you? Your family owns this place, right?"
