"Never know, there are markets out there that deal in sentiment," the Doctor pointed out. "Why do you think it's called 'sentimental value'?"

"True," Jess said. "But you still have to be willing to give it up, or have a good enough reason to give it up."

"That can be a wrinkle sometimes," the Doctor admitted. "But still, it's an option, you know."

"It is." Jess shrugged and looked over a table of odds and ends. "And you can always count on finding the oddest things at markets."

The Doctor grinned.

"I know all about that," he said. "I'm always finding odd things." Something about being odd himself, odd things were always finding him whether he looked for them or not. But he stopped minding that a long time ago.

Jess snorted and got her hands on an odd little silvery ball and tucked it away in a pocket. If nothing else it was shiny.

The Doctor ended up with a small bag of exotic fruits and a sleek little glass container with a lump of metallic putty inside of it. He had to work to keep hold of it every time they passed something made of metal, but he was grinning as he walked.

Jess chuckled at him. "You look like a kid in a candy store," she said, shaking her head. "And also rather smug at the same time. It's an interesting combination."

"This is fun," the Doctor replied, beaming. "I managed to find a couple of neat things. We'll have to see how well the Tardis takes to magnetic putty."

"Oh that's going to be fun to watch," Jess said with a grin. "Although I may laugh if the putty mysteriously goes missing."

"She'll either love it or hate it," the Doctor agreed, grinning. "Either way, it was worth buying."

Jess chuckled and nodded her agreement.

"And there's fish. Of course there are fish. In tanks, even." She paused to look at the bright-colored fish darting around.

The Doctor noticed that she paused and slowed down as well.

"The market has a bit of everything," he commented as she stopped to watch the fish.

"No kidding." Jess shook her head. "I'd say we should get a few but that would not end well, not with all the rattling and banging and flipping over."

"No, fish would not do well in the Tardis," the Doctor agreed. "Unless she took a liking to them for some reason, but I doubt that."

Jess grinned. "Hey, you never know, sounds like she kind of likes surprising you sometimes," she said cheerfully, although she didn't go to try and get any of the fish.

"She does, sometimes," the Doctor agreed with a grin. "That's always an adventure."

Jess grinned. "So, where are you thinking of going next? Now that we've had a bit of relaxation time. Or are we going to stay here for a few days?"

"Up to you, I guess," the Doctor replied. "Anywhere in particular you or your sister want to go? We have all of time and space to choose from."

"We'll figure it out as we go," Jess said with a bit of a shrug. "I'm sure we'll come up with a whole list of places eventually."

"I'm sure we will," the Doctor agreed. He grinned. "There's a forest planet out there where an entire population lives in trees. And their companion race lives on the oceans in floating cities."

"Oh now that just sounds like a lot of fun," Jess said with a grin. "Tempting me already are you?"

"Why not?" the Doctor asked, grinning. "Nothing wrong with it."

"Very true," Jess agreed with a little grin. "Just commenting. Although if there's a planet where unicorns actually exist, we are going there."

"Unicorns?" The Doctor looked briefly contemplative. "Possibly. We'll see. I've never come across such a planet before, but that doesn't mean it's not out there."
