Marie nodded, putting her head on Jess's shoulder. She didn't make any immediate moves to get up. She knew they had to find rooms, but for the moment, she just wanted to stay near her sister.

Jess was fine with staying there, at least until the Doctor got back. Then they'd have to get rooms and get settled in and all that, but for just a few more minutes, she wanted to relax.

The Doctor didn't get back for another fifteen minutes or so. He let himself into the console room, barely even blinking when he saw Jack there. What made him pause was the lack of women in the room.

"Where are they?" he asked, looking at Jack.

"Found a place to sit for a bit," Jack said. "They're re-acclimating to all this, Doctor. They're kind of depressed at the moment."

"Depressed?" the Doctor asked. "This should all be familiar to them, the Tardis is literally a piece of home."

Jack shrugged. "They did also just find out about Gallifrey," he pointed out. "They've been human for the last however many years, it's probably safe to assume that they didn't know before."

"At least they don't have to live with knowing they're the very last of an entire race," the Doctor pointed out as he went to fiddle with a couple of dials on the console.

Jack rolled his eyes. "Stop sounding all sad and go take them to some rooms," he said, walking over. "Just kind of nudge them into moving and I bet they'll be fine."

"Oi, quit telling me what to do," the Doctor said, giving Jack a half-hearted Look. "My Tardis, I'm in charge." But he did still head off towards the opposite door. He trusted the Tardis to lead him to the girls.

Jack snickered and watched him go, going to plop himself in the seat.

Jess looked up when she heard footsteps but didn't bother getting up yet.

"Haven't found a room yet you like?" the Doctor asked when he found the two. Marie glanced up at him, but didn't move to get up. "Well, come on, I'm sure there's one around here that'll suit you both."

"How many rooms do you have in here anyway?" Jess asked as she got up. She held out a hand to help Marie up too, since they were sticking together, for now at least.

"Lost count," the Doctor said as the girls stood up. "The Tardis likes to move some of them around sometimes, too. She can be finicky."

"She?" Marie asked, blinking.

"The Tardis," the Doctor replied.

Jess snorted. "So your Tardis is a she," she said with a bit of a grin. "Hope she doesn't mind extra passengers."

The Doctor shrugged a bit.

"She'll get used to it," he said. "Always does." He gestured to them both. "Now come on, let's see what we can find for you two."

Jess raised her eyebrows a bit but shrugged and followed him to search for a room. Might as well, after all. She did glance back at Marie to make sure she was doing alright.

Marie was following behind them quietly. She wasn't quite ready to relax yet, and she definitely didn't feel like talking.

The Doctor opened doors as they walked, seemingly at random, and peeked into them. Finally, he opened one and stopped.

"Aha," he said opening it wider. "Here we are. How is this one?" He stepped aside so the girls could see.

Jess looked into the room and blinked. It was big enough for two, with two beds that could be pushed together, and plenty of space.

"Looks good to me," she offered cautiously, glancing back at Marie. "If it's good with you."

Marie looked at the room and nodded.

"Fine with me," she said. Tentatively, she stepped into the room.

"Fantastic," the Doctor said. "Then you two go ahead and get settled, I'll go talk to Jack and figure out where we should head off to next."

"Somewhere nice," Jess said, glancing back at him. "You two look like you could use a day or two to just wander a market and not get into trouble."

The Doctor considered that for a moment.

"How about the biggest market in the galaxy?" he suggested with a bit of a grin. He knew Jack would probably enjoy it, so it was really up to the girls.

Jess raised her eyebrows a bit but nodded. Markets were always fun, and loud enough to be distracting for a bit.

"Sounds good to me," she agreed.

Marie nodded tentatively as well. A big market sounded like a wonderful distraction.

"Fantastic," the Doctor said, grinning. "Well, settle in then, and we can get a move on."

"Go on, we'll look around in here," Jess said, looking at him for a moment before looking back in the room. "We'll holler if we need anything before we get to the market."

The Doctor nodded and headed back to the control room. He wasn't going to ask them to help him pilot the Tardis, not at all. Jack could just deal with it. They'd done just fine up until now.

Once he was gone, Marie tentatively set her things down on one of the beds and then sat down herself. The room itself was even bigger on the inside, since the doors in the hall were only set about a foot apart, and just thinking about that was kind of uncomfortable.
