Lori stayed awake a while longer till the morphine kicked in knocking her out.

"I'll head home you check on Lorinda." Damien vanished into the city knowing his way home.

Gemini sat on a chair next to Lori's bed, and settled in to wait for her friend to wake up.

Bruce nodded and headed out, driving back to the hospital. He was surprised to find some kind of commotion going on when he got there, but he ignored it and headed to Lori's room.

As if she sensed his presence her eyes flickered open briefly and groaned a little. "Must be daddy.'' Lena opened the door for him. "She's fine drugged up but fine."

Bruce blinked slightly as the door opened before he even reached for the handle. He sighed in relief when Helena filled him in. "Thank goodness." He said, walking in. "Gemini, you can go home now. I'll stay here with Lori until she wakes up, and I'll give you a call when she does."

Gemini looked up, blinking tiredly. "I...okay. Just...make sure you let me know when she waked up. I want to be here." She said. After receiving a nod from Bruce, she hugged Helena and left the room. There was only one thing left to do before she could finally go to sleep. She went to look for the Joker.

Joker was outside the hospital hiding from the security guard chuckling softly as he leaned against the wall in back of him watching the door with a slight interest.

Lena sat back down and held her mothers hand watching Lori who's eyes snapped open she quickly held her down when she gasped and searched the room she saw Bruce and settled down holding her hand out.

Bruce moved to Lori's side and took her hand. "Relax, love, everything is okay now." He said, brushing a bit of hair out of her face.

Gemini walked out of the hospital, still looking. She didn't notice him until she quite literally bumped into him. "Ow, shit! Oh. Is this gonna be a regular thing?"

Joker stumbled a little then quickly regained himself and grinned at her. "That depends on chance and if you want it to happen more.' he chuckled a little. "Or you could watch where your going.'' he teased then pushed her down as the guard walked by. "Idiot.'' joker laughed once he was gone.

Lori kept hold of his hand as she started to drift off. "Don't go.'' Was all she managed to say as she leaned her head into the hand by her face. She relaxed against his touch letting her eyes close again quickly falling into a natural sleep. "Poor mom." Lena sighed and relaxed in the chair waiting for the doctor to give them the all clear.

Gemini managed to muffle her "oof!" as she was pushed down. "You're just a walking disaster, aren't you? Damn...and by the way, I wasn't looking where I was going because I'm exhausted. I would have just gone home, but I decided to look for you first." She said, brushing herself off. "Probably not my best idea, but I can't think rationally right now. I don't think I've ever stayed awake this long before..." Just as she finished the sentence, her body decided that it had had enough, and she fainted.

"I won't, I promise." Bruce replied, watching her fall back to sleep.

"Whoop." Joker caught her and decided to bring her to his place. Once there he tucked her into his thin worn out bed sighing softly.

Soon Lena fell asleep in her chair watching the doctor check her mother over. "She'll be fine after a while." The doctor glanced at Bruce. "She'll need to have a therapist come and help her learn how to move with the injury."

Bruce watched quietly, then nodded at the doctor. "That won't be a problem, thank you doctor." He said.

Gemini didn't wake up at all, too deep in slumber to even notice that she had been moved.

"You can take her home if she's up to it." The doctor left. The next morning Lori woke and groaned a little. "I feel like ass." she smiled at him and squeezed his sleeping hand.

Joker woke on the couch confused at first then got up to make a simple toast breakfast.

Bruce woke up almost instantly, since he hadn't been fully asleep in the first place. "Lori? Oh, you're awake! How are you doing, love?" He asked gently.

Gemini didn't wake up until a nightmare caused her to scream in her sleep, which startled her enough to send her rolling onto the floor.

"I feel like I got kicked by an elephant.' Lori groaned when she moved and sighed. "I also feel sore and like I want to kill someone." she huffed a little.

"You alright in there?" Joker called appearing with the toast. "That's an odd place to sleep." he teased.

Bruce couldn't help but smile. It was a typical Lori response. "Well, the good news is that the doctor said you can go home if you feel up to it. He said you're going to need therapy to help you walk and recover from that injury, though."

Gemini sat up, rubbing the back of her head where it had hit the floor, and glared. "I'm fine, thanks. Just the usual nightmares, followed by a bump on the head and waking up somewhere totally unfamiliar." She huffed. "I suppose I fainted, then?"

"You can suppose and you would be right." Joker laughed and helped her up. "Here I made toast. The breakfast of champions." he smirked a little.

Lori sighed in relief. "I do want to go home...your home of course." she blushed a little. She spotted Lena still asleep on her other side and smiled a little at her daughter.

Gemini rolled her eyes, but accepted the toast when she realized that she was starving. She didn't eat it until thoroughly expecting it to make sure it was safe, though. "Well...thanks for helping me out."

Bruce chuckled. "Actually, I was going to insist you recover at my place, anyway. That was I can make sure you're safe." He said, following her gaze to Helena. "She tried to stay awake all night. She almost made it, too."

"Your welcome...as for leaving I'm afraid I'll have to knock you out." Joker smiled. "You are bat brains girlfriend's friend...not that I don't trust you.''

Lori chuckled "she's stubborn that's for sure.'' she glanced at him and reached forward grabbing his shirt sleeve with a grunt she pulled his sleeve pouting when nothing happened.

"Yeah, right. Whatever, as long as I eventually end up home. Lucifer is probably hungry by now." Gemini said. "And he'll need a bath, after tearing apart that bitch last night."

Bruce looked down, raising an eyebrow. "Is there something you need?" He asked.

"I want a kiss." Lori sighed. "But I wanted to pull you down for one...your to strong and I'm to tired.'' she chuckled then looked back at him. "Can I have a kiss?"

"I'll leave you somewhere then." Joker glanced at his hyenas who chuckled. "Hush you two go do something else." he shooed them.

Instead of answering, Bruce knelt down and kissed her, gently so that he didn't hurt her.

Gemini smirked. "So, there are animals that don't hate you. I knew you had to be lying about that." She teased.

"well I couldn't say that hyena's licked me." Joker snorted. "There they only things that stay." he sighed a little and went off to feed them.

Lori kissed him back and a hand into his hair blushing a little.

Gemini frowned slightly, and resolved to make Lucifer more tolerant towards him. It wasn't much, but it was something. With that thought, she followed him.

After a few minutes, Bruce pulled back reluctantly. "I would love to continue this, but you're injured and a doctor could come in any time. Oh, I was supposed to call Gemini when you woke up."

Lori caught her breath then laughed. "All I wanted was a kiss I mean our daughter is sleeping right there." She teased.

Joker frowned as she followed him. With a smirk he gave his pets there rabbit dinner. "Why are you following me?"

Bruce smirked. "That's true, too." He said, sitting back down. He pulled out his phone and sent a text to Gemini. "She'll be here as soon as she gets that, probably."

"Because I don't feel like sitting around doing nothing. Why, does it bother you?" Gemini asked cheerfully, just as her phone went off. "Oh, shoot!" She grabbed it out of her boot and looked at it. "Lori's awake! Um..." Her face scrunched up as she texted back. "Can't show up right now...be there...sometime later...tell Lori...I said hi." She muttered, saying the words as she texted them.

"she'll show up eventually I'm sure...don't ask how I got a friend so much younger then me." Lori sighed and squeezed his free hand snuggling into the blankets. "I'm still tired." she yawned.

"I'll take you back." Joker pulled out a blindfold and earmuffs. "here you go put these on.'' he smirked a little.
