"She can't be she must have tricked them." Lori started crying. "I'll go see her in the morning and give her a piece of my mind for doing this to me. Then she'll kiss my cheek and tell me how sorry she is and I'll forgive her.'' She clung to him.

Bruce held her tightly, rubbing her back and rocking her back and forth. He couldn't tell her that she was probably wrong. She already knew, and he just didn't have the heart to break her hope, no matter how thin it was.

Lori cried herself to sleep head resting against his chest one handed fisted into his shirt refusing to let go even in her sleep.

Bruce adjusted so that Lori was sitting on his lap, then fell asleep with her there.

((Morning))
Lori woke with a start the next morning then smiled into his chest stretching out with a yawn.

Joker groaned when he wake felling very sore.

Bruce woke up shortly after, yawning as he tried to remember why he was sleeping on a couch. Seeing Lori, he remembered the previous night and smiled hesitantly at her. "Morning, love. How...are you?"

Gemini was woken by the sound of groaning, since it wasn't something she was used to hearing. Going to sit up, she somehow managed to slip and fall off the couch, landing face first. "Ow..."

"You alright?" Joker laughed helping her up kissing her nose. "Did you break?" He smiled.

Lori thought a moment then sighed. "I guess so a little sore and tired."

Gemini blew a bit of hair out of her face. "I'm fine. Totally great. After a lifetime of clumsiness, a little fall like that is nothing." She said. Lucifer ran over and started licking her face. "Ew, gross! Come on, Lucifer, down! Down boy! Good...jeez. He's a great dog, really, but sometimes a little too affectionate." She patted the half-wolf pup, smiling. "How are you feeling?" She asked, looking up. A nasty bruise covered most of the right side of her face, though she didn't seem to notice.

"That's to be expected. Are you hungry?" Bruce asked, sitting up straighter. He'd go and get her something to eat, then maybe check her bandages...but he wasn't letting her out of his sight, considering what had happened the last time he had left her alone.

"Not really." Lori clung to his waist looking sad. "Maybe we should postpone the wedding." It was a weekish away but she didn't feel like doing anything about it.

"Sore but fine." Joker chuckled going to get her an ice pack. "For your face." He kissed the bruise.

Bruce felt a pang of sadness, but nodded. He understood why she needed this. "Okay. Take as long as you need...I'm just happy being near you." He said, silently hoping that she would stay near him and not run away.

Gemini flinched. "Ouch...damn, that kid can punch. If I didn't know who his parents were, I'd swear he was a superhuman." She said, hissing slightly as she applied the ice pack. "I wonder if Bruce and Lori got to him."

"Yeah...I should go to the park forest and..." Lori trailed off not sure what to say. She wished Bruce had never fallen for her wondering if that wod have changed anything it may have let him choose someone more fitted to him.

Joker smirked then nodded "yeah that boy can punch like a full grown man. I know he has hit me a few times." He sighed softly.

Bruce sensed the dark direction of her thoughts, and lifted her chin so she would look at her. "I don't know what you're thinking, but stop. There is no reason for you to feel bad about yourself."

Gemini nodded. "That's right, I've seen. I'm kind of surprised you can still walk, actually." She said, completely serious.

"I'm so use to it my body is like memory foam or a sponge." Joker chuckled. "Take a few beatings especially after Jason and you became all to familiar with it."

Lori stared at him for a moment. "You say so." Her gaze dropped to the floor letting her mood darken.

Gemini raised an eyebrow. "You talk about that boy like he was nothing..." She shook her head. It was something she'd just have to get used to. "Never mind, it doesn't matter."

Bruce frowned, trying to think of a way to cheer her up. Finally, after coming up with nothing to say, he just kissed her passionately. Several moments later, he pulled away for air. "Don't go somewhere dark, Lori. Please."

"Well he was a means to get Baty upset sure worked." Joker chuckled. "But that's all there was to him."

Lori blushed when he kissed then sighed. "No reassurance that's there is no one more suited then me to stay with you?" She pouted a little.

Gemini shook her head. "Okay...I'm not talking about this anymore." She said. "Got anything to eat?"

Bruce smiled. "I honestly thought that was too obvious to say, but I will anyway." He said, brushing hair out of her face. "There is no one in this world, or any other, who I would rather be with than you. No one is more perfect for me. You're the only one I would go to New York and search for in the middle of a crisis here. The only person who I would consider giving up Batman for. You, Lorinda Gale, are my other half, my one true love."

Lori blushed and ran a hand over his cheek smiling her eye's a little teary. "I'm so glad to hear that Bruce. I don't want you to give up being batman that's part of you. Plus the cops can't do anything with out you but for tonight your all mine." she leaned forward and kissed him.

"Umm...not sure if it's any good." Joker shrugged. "We could check. I kind of doubt it's good I have the fridge of a crazy bachelor." he chuckled and got up to check. "Empty like a barren desert...unless you want fridge mold." he smirked.

Bruce kissed her back, going until he couldn't breathe any more. "I'm always all yours." He said with a smile. "Right now it's only morning, so maybe we can find something to do together."

"Gross." Gemini said. "Well, I know what I'm doing today. This is unacceptable, even for someone living alone. I'm cleaning this thing and buying groceries for you. Everyone needs some food around the house."

"Since its moving you may want to buy a whole new one...usually I just steal my meals." Joker shrugged. "Buy what you like I don't care."

"What can a billionaire and a thief do together?" Lori mused then chuckled. "Sounds like a bad joke but its not." She shook her head. "We could just snuggle by the fire, go collect Ivy or even go do wedding stuff."

"Fine with me. I don't mind a challenge, and I've never met a mess I couldn't clean." Gemini replied. "I'm going to go get a few supplies from my place, and groceries. When I get back, I'll tackle this alien creature."

Bruce nodded. "Any of those are okay by me. Whatever you want to do, we'll do." He said.

"Let's go to the park er forest...forest park?" Lori shrugged. "Something like that. Need to check on things there."

"Alien creature? Hope you don't mean me." Joker chuckled a little closing the creature in with a shudder. "Why did I get a fridge in the first place? I think Harley may have got it so she could cook for me."

Bruce nodded, understanding what she meant. "Okay, let's go. When we get there, do you want me to come in with you...?" He asked, not sure if she wanted to check alone or not.

Gemini laughed. "No, not you." She said, patting Lucifer's head. "Harley? I really can't imagine her cooking anything, let alone anything edible."

"Ivy will stop you...you'll see." Lori stood and stole one of his shirts taking a deep breath she got one of the car keys handing them to him.

"I never said it was edible." Joker snorted and started looking threw the cabinets. He found a thing of noddles and made it for them

Bruce nodded and took the key. "Okay." He said simply. Secretly, he was really hoping she was right.

"Of course. The world makes sense again." Gemini said, half-sarcastically. "Oh, I'll be leaving Lucifer here when I go. I can't bring him into the store, and I don't trust that someone won't steal him...or get mauled trying. Don't worry, though, he'll behave."

"As long as the hyena's like him." Joker looked at the two who were trying to get her attention wondering if she had food for them. He chuckled and feed them there rabbit meat letting them eat in peace.

Lori got out when they arrived staring at the small park. With a deep breath she headed in swallowing a little.
