Lena's face twisted into something between anger and sadness. "Well I don't see why I should care in the first place your only my dad after all and this is only the first time we've had an actual conversation because I'm just a kid no one seems to think I need to get to know my dad." She looked to Lori who looked away. "I've never asked why I didn't know who my father was I was scared to hear that he had never wanted me in the first place... Is that it did you hate me from the moment I was born or maybe mom was scared of telling you. Oh wait I'm just your child who the pharmacy person mistook for your wife but at least they tell me stuff about you. Your so busy with mom you." She broke off sniffing. "I was so scared when mom called I thought I had missed my chance to get to know you and." She hiccuped starting to cry. Lori blinked surprised usual Helena never cried she went to give her a hug then paused letting Bruce deal with it.

Bruce, of course, looked helpless. He just never knew how to deal with women crying, and this was even more unfamiliar because the woman crying was his daughter. Wincing, he stood up. "Helena, I didn't mean to...I never meant to suggest that you didn't have a right to know anything. I just don't know...I've never dealt with a daughter before, I just don't know how to talk to you. It's a lot different from Damien..." He sighed. "Now listen to me, don't you ever think that I didn't want you. Until just a few months ago, I had no idea that I had a daughter. But believe me, I always wanted one. It was one of the greatest moments of my life when I finally met you." He raised a hand, almost like he wanted to hug her, but he wasn't sure if he should. "I don't think of you as a child at all. You are my child, but I see you as a strong, capable young woman. And I do want to get to know you, Lena. I want that more than almost anything else. I've been busy with your mother because she is my new wife, and she happens to be pregnant, but I won't always be busy only with her. Sometime soon, maybe we could spend some time together, okay?" He didn't realize that this was the first time he had ever called her "Lena" instead of "Helena."

"Okay." Lena hugged him tightly still crying a little. "I want to get to know you as well. I already think your the greatest guy in the world and I'm happy that your my father. I'm sorry daddy we'll both get better at talking to each other." she kissed his cheek and hugged him tighter.

Bruce nodded and hugged her back. "I look forward to it." He said. Then she hugged him tighter, and he winced and started coughing. "Hurts..."

"Sorry." Lena dropped him making odd gestures with her hands. "Eh." she grimaced. "Sorry." she repeated.

"-Okay. It's okay. I'm fine." Bruce assured her, sitting back down. "God, you've got your mother's strength."

Lori and Lena grinned then both yawned. "Time for bed." Lena chuckled then hugged her mom before slipping off to one of the other rooms. "You did good love." Lori smiled then went to changed into her pjs. She flopped down and patted the pillow "Come down here and cuddle."

Tired, Bruce complied, laying down next to Lori and holding her close. "I'm so tired..." He said, already falling asleep. It wasn't even dusk yet, but his injuries exhausted him.

"Sleep then love I'll be here." Lori kissed him and curled against him.

Joker frowned in concentration as they skated.

Bruce nodded, mumbled something that sounded like "I love you," and fell asleep.

Gemini seemed to pick it up quickly, but stayed with him because she wanted to spend time with him.

About a month had passed, and Bruce and Lori had spent most of it in France on their honeymoon. Bruce had recovered quickly, though he had to admit that this time, he wouldn't fully come back from his injuries. Being Batman would have to fall to someone else. Still, he hadn't worried about it until they returned to Gotham. Now, the couple was unpacking in their room. "It's good to be back." Bruce mentioned, putting his last piece of clothing away. "Can you believe that this is our room now?" He asked. He had never pictured himself sharing his room legally with anyone.

"I can believe it we've shared it before and I had come to think of it as ours." Lori blushed softly and smiled at him. "But know we can say it out loud. Our room." she kissed his gentle.

Joker meanwhile was still trying to get use to being with someone though he was spending all his spare time hanging out with Gemini. He had stopped torturing the people of the city but was growing bored of it and wanted to do something to the city.

Bruce smiled into the kiss. Once they broke apart, he opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by someone knocking on the door. Glancing at Lori, he raised an eyebrow with a look that said "gee, I wonder who this could be." "Come in." He called.

At that time, Gemini had begged Joker not to do anything just yet, as she had something to take care of first. After being told to enter, Gemini opened the door and smiled at the new couple. "Welcome home you two! I'm sorry for showing up your first day here, but I just couldn't wait to see you!" She hugged Bruce lightly, then hugged Lori tight. "I have to talk to you privately." She whispered to Lori as she hugged her.

Lori hugged her back then pulled her into the bathroom. "Yes?" she asked with a smile that said she had interrupted something.

"WHAT!?" Lori yelled at the top of her voice so that people in china could have heard her. "I'll kill him murder destroy." She paused in her rant. "Oh God a baby Joker. Bruce we're going back on vacation." She called to him.

Gemini jumped at the outburst, then covered Lori's mouth until she was sure her friend wouldn't yell again. "Shh! There's a reason I whispered!" She chastised, pulling her hand away before Lori could lick it. "I haven't told him yet, and I don't know what to do. He's not going to take it well...but I..." She sniffled. "I want to keep it. I can't...I won't kill my baby, no matter what. But...what do I do? How do I tell him? How do I hide this from everyone who's going to try and kill it?" She asked desperately.

Back out in the room, Bruce jumped slightly. Why was Lori yelling, and why were they going back on vacation? "Lori? Gemini? What's going on in there?" He called, hoping nothing was wrong.

"I'll tell him for you as I'm beating him." Lori growled. "Stay home and don't leave that's how you hide it know if you'll excuse me." She marched out ignoring any comments from Bruce. "You'll find out later." She assured him.

Gemini followed Lori, grabbing her arm. "You will not! No one is telling him but me. You may come along and beat him, though." She said firmly. She didn't say that she would feel better with Lori there.

"Tell who what? What is going on?" Bruce asked, standing up.

"Works for me." Lori ignored Bruce and pulled Gemini towards the garage mumbling darkly under her breath.

Gemini followed Lori, looking both nervous and close to tears as they went. She stayed silent, but it was obvious that she was still asking herself far too many questions.

Bruce blinked several times, wondering what on earth just happened. Shrugging, he decided to lay down for a while and maybe take a nap while he waited for Lori. He didn't have the energy to chase after them, and it didn't seem like his business anyway.

Lori kicked open the door to Joker's house. "Honey I'm home." Joker blinked "What's all this about?" he looked to Gemini and took her hand. "Are you alright?"
