Lucifer barked as if saying "good luck" and watched them go. Inside the delivery room, Gemini clutched Joker's hand hard enough to crush bone, screaming in pain. When she could talk, she was panicking. "It's too early! There's still a month left! Why is it coming now?!"

Martha cooed and fell asleep head resting against his chest making cute sleeping baby noises. "Put her in the crib here." the nurse gestured to the crib. "You can see her in the morning."

Joker just squeezed his hand unsure what do or say to make it better.

Bruce nodded and thanked the nurse, still smiling softly. He gently placed Martha in the crib and tucked her in. Then he went and sat in a chair next to Lori, refusing to leave.

Gemini's labor was a long and painful one, lasting hours and hours. Finally, at midnight, the sound of a baby's cry was heard. "It's a boy." The doctor declared. Gemini looked relieved- until she screamed again. One of the nurses started trying to find out what was wrong, and a moment later the doctor told Gemini to push. "Push? What does he mean? I thought the baby was already ouUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!" With no other option, Gemini did as the doctor said. Thirteen minutes later, yet another cry was heard. "And a girl!" The doctor said. The nurses took both babies and cleaned them up while Gemini was told to relax- it was all over. "T-two babies? Twins...that's why I was so big. Are they okay?" She asked Joker, who had been offered both babies to hold.

Joker was staring at the babies just staring a mixture of fear, surprise, going to throw up, pain and love on his face. "Fine...I think." he was unsure if he should hold them or not.

Gemini chuckled tiredly. "It's okay...relax, you'll be fine. Here, I'll hold one, and you hold the other." She said, trying to reassure him. Who knew the Joker would be so afraid of a couple of babies. The doctor handed Gemini the baby girl, and handed Joker the boy, showing them both how to hold them properly. "Look,they're so little..."

Joker was holding him away from his body still just staring. "yeah little."

The baby, who had Gemini's red hair and green eyes, stared up at his father and smiled. Gemini chuckled slightly. "Here, switch with me." She said, handing him the girl and taking the boy. The girl had pure white hair and pure black eyes. She smiled instantly upon seeing her father, and made happy little sounds. "I think she's the one who knew your voice. See, they're harmless. Just fragile, that's all." Gemini reassured.

"Yeah fragile." Joker seemed to have forgotten how to talk. "You sure I can do this I'm not really a lovey, feely, touchy person and I'm just a general mess of a person...are you sure I'm the dad or if you don't want me I can go find some other guy to help you." He was blabbering it had been one thing when they weren't born yet but know that he was staring at his children he was having a panic attack of sorts.

Gemini sighed, not knowing what to do or say. So she did the only thing that could possibly get the guy to function normally: she picked a fight. "Excuse me? Are you accusing me of having sex with another man? Of course they're yours! You know full well that you were my first, and by the way I don't appreciate being called a cheater!" She snapped. Both babies fell silent, as if they knew something was happening. "And I don't want someone else to be their father. I want their father to be their father. But if you aren't man enough to do that, then I'll just raise them myself."

Joker lached onto that last part. "No I'm definitely not man enough. In fact I might get my gender changed while I'm here." He gave her the other baby like he would break it. "Of course I'll have to not go the nine yards can't get pregnant." He was staring at the wall now. "You sure? No, no your probably right...though could be like Mary from that Hindu bibbila dodad."

Gemini sighed and shook her head. "It's called the Bible, and it's a Christian thing. And of course I'm sure, darn it! How could you question me that way? I can't believe this...you were so great during the whole pregnancy...I really thought you could handle this. They're only babies, for heaven's sake. What's so scary about them? Don't you feel anything for them at all?" She wasn't sure whether to get pissed or cry, so she started doing both.

"Of course I do but it was one thing when they were safe in your stomach...know that I'm staring at them I'm scared that I'll do something wrong." Joker looked at his feet feeling miserable.

"Oh..." Gemini breathed, understanding. "Listen, I understand what you're feeling. I feel the same way. Remember, I've never raised a child before, either." She said, her voice softening. "But, I've seen it done, and it's not really that scary. It's not easy, and I won't lie, you are going to get things wrong. So am I. That's part of being a parent, making mistakes and learning from them. But it's a lot easier when there's someone to help you. We'll do fine, I promise. At least give it a try, you might actually like it." She shifted the babies so they would be more comfortable. "I'll start you off easy. Your first job is to pick a name. You can name the girl, okay? Any name you pick, we'll go with- within reason."

"Alright...alright." Joker paused and thought a moment. "How about April?'' he suggested.

Gemini smiled brightly. "April is a perfect name. So, little one, your name is April. And you, my son, are Todd." She said, looking up to see if Joker agreed to that name. Both babies seemed pretty happy.

Joker flinched a little. "Maybe Todd's not the best name." he ran a hand threw his hair. "Jason's a bad one to."

Gemini flinched. "Oh, shoot...I forgot about that. Okay, not Todd. Then, how about...Calcifer?" She asked, picking her second favorite name. "Cal for short."

"That's better less chance Bruce will kill me." Joker nodded.

Gemini smiled. "He's going to pass out when he hears that we had twins." She said, imagining Bruce's face. "Now, it's time to feed them. You can stay if you want, but don't stare." She warned, getting ready to feed the babies.

"Ok, ok." Joker averted his eyes smirking a little when she was done he tried again and took April holding her close this time though Gemini noticed his arms shaking a little.

Gemini smiled. "Good job. Just try to keep your arms a little more steady, and it's perfect." She adivsed. April seemed to be dozing off, though she smiled up at him. "Look at that, she likes you. I think we have a daddy's girl here." She added, rocking Calcifer slightly.

"Yeah." Joker tried to calm his nerves more and rocked April half adjusting his hold half actually rocking her.

April cooed happily, and fell asleep. Calcifer fell asleep as well, making Gemini smile. "So cute..." She said, trying to stifle a yawn. She was completely exhausted.

Joker put April in one crib then took Cal and placed him in the other. "There now sleep you." he kissed her forehead and smiled.

Gemini smiled back. "Okay. I wonder how Lori is do...doing." She yawned in the middle of the sentence, and fell fast asleep as soon as she finished.
