Bruce shrugged. "One tends to learn, after being around women so much." He said with a chuckle. He took Martha and waited for Lori. When Lori came out, his jaw dropped. "Wow. I...wow. Lori..." He was rendered speechless.
"Glad you approve." Lori blushed and looked and Lena who nodded. "I agree with dad its perfect." They bought both dresses. "You two join my fiance and choose out tuxes while mother, Martha and I get shoes and such." Lena pushed them along.
Bruce sighed in relief. Tuxes were a pain, but he was glad not to be shoe shopping with the women. "We're gone." He said, taking Damian and leaving quickly.
((Wedding skip?))
((Go for it.))
Lena was pacing nervously biting her cheek. "I'm not ready." Lori smiled a little. "Yes you are." "Yes I am." Lena smiled back at her then took her fathers arm. "Let's get this over with."
Bruce smiled down at Helena and patted her hand lightly. "No worries, Lena. You'll be fine." He said, getting ready to walk with her as the music started up.
Gemini fixed April's dress one last time as the music started. April and Martha were to be flower girls, and Gemini was making sure they got their part right. "Okay, go ahead. Remember, throw the flowers, not the basket." She said to the girls before they waddled off. April had only just mastered walking, so she was a bit unsteady. Cal stood next to her in his little tux, looking glad that he didn't have such a big job. |
Martha was enjoying herself as she threw the flowers giggling happily. Finally it was Helena's turn and she crushed her fathers arm as they walked.
Bruce somehow managed to keep a straight face as his arm was crushed, and even managed a tiny smile as he walked his daughter down the aisle.
One marriage later they partied Lori mostly making sure Martha didn't try to trip anyone or get into trouble.
Gemini mostly did the same as Lori, except her job was to keep two children in line. While April was busy making a cake mess, Cal was running around lifting women's dresses. "Lori, do we have a playpen set up for these three?" Gemini asked as she grabbed one twin in each arm.
Bruce watched Lena as she danced and talked with her husband. He was happy for her, and not upset like he thought he would be at the thought of losing his daughter so soon. |
Lori shook her head and pulled the children to her telling them a story Martha listened in interest holding Cal's hand.
Lena went to her father. "Do you want to dance daddy?' |
Gemini took a deep breath to relax a little. She had to hold April on her lap to stop her from running off. Cal held Martha's hand and listened intently.
Bruce smiled. "I would love to, Lena." He said, holding out his hand for her to take. "You know, I never thought I'd be lucky enough to dance with my daughter at her wedding." |
"Well know you get two." Lena grinned at him. "Are you upset with mom for her not telling about me?" She asked taking his hand and started to dance slowly.
Bruce shook his head. "No, I'm not upset. I'm just glad that she did tell me about you eventually. I wish I had been there for you growing up, but one thing I've learned is that you can't dwell on the past. I prefer to look towards the future." He said, dancing slowly as he spoke.
"At least I know where I get in from." Lena smiled. "At least you got Martha to raise out of the deal." She glanced at her baby sister. "How did Talia get your goat? If you don't mind me asking."
Bruce smiled, looking over at Martha. "True. I'm certainly happy for that." He said. At her next question, he cringed. "It was...it's kind of difficult to explain. Your mother and I weren't together, and Talia...I still think she drugged me. But in the end, I said yes, and...Damian happened. I regret ever being near her, but I can't regret the result."
Lena smiled and nodded. "Damien is the best brother so I'm glad she's around as well." she sighed. "I wish you and mom had gotten together before this."
"So do I. But again, you can't dwell on the past. We're together now, and we're happy." Bruce said with a little smile.
"Where did you get the glass half full mentality? How do you and mom a glass half empty kind of person ever get to liking each other?" Lena chuckled
Bruce shrugged. "It doesn't come naturally, I have to really try to see things that way. Your mother is kind of like the devil on my shoulder, and I'm the angel on hers." He chuckled. "I'm not really sure how it works, but it does."
"the very evil general gets her way devil." Lena giggled then grinned as Martha pulled Cal onto the dance floor.
"I wish I could argue with that, but you're right." Bruce said with a laugh. Glancing over, he saw the children on the dance floor. "I'm going to have to accept that Martha will someday marry the Joker's son, aren't I? Well, at least it's also Gemini's son..." He sighed.
Gemini watched the kids from across the floor and sighed happily. "Baby love. It's so cute! I better start saving up for the wedding." She said to Lori. "Meanwhile, look at Bruce dancing with his daughter. Who knew he could be such a teddy bear?" |
"I knew he was a teddy bear he just doesn't show it to others." Lori chuckled watching a Bruce a soft smile on her face. "We should start saving up for the wedding." she looked to the kids.
"Yes you are going to have to get use to the idea." Lena grinned at her father. |
"Ooh, I just can't wait. Although, I'm sure Bruce won't be happy about it. I'm not sure how Joker will react. On one hand, Martha is the daughter of his enemy. On the other hand, it would make Bruce unhappy and Joker likes that." Gemini mused.
Bruce chuckled sadly. "Well, I guess I'd better start praying that the boy takes after his mother." He said in a defeated tone. |
