"I'm not sure, but it's likely." Bruce said, walking quickly.

Instead of leaving, Cal followed. "It was a bunch of ninjas." He said. "I'm going to help." He added.

"Your a bad guy you can't help." Martha gave him a look. "You can stay here or go home." She didn't sound cross more like she was stating a fact.

"Your mom helped plenty of times, even though she was a bad guy." Cal said. "Even if I'm a villain, I still have the right to protect the people I care about. I know I can't follow you down there-" He gestured to the entrance to the batcave. "-But I'll be there when everything goes down. Those guys are my enemies now, too." He stated this simply, then left the manor.

"We don't have time to argue, and we can't really stop him from fighting. Let's go." Bruce said, bringing MArtha down into the cave.

Martha changed into her Huntress outfit. "Should I go get Gemini?" She asked looking worried and a little scared.

"No, you'll go after your mother. I'm going to get Gemini and bring her as backup." Bruce said, putting on his old suit. He didn't spare much time for words, but left quickly.

Martha nodded and hurried outside she didn't bother to wait for Cal just hurried to the grocery store to follow the trail from there.

Cal was already at the grocery store waiting for Martha to show up. "They went this way. Come on." He said, before turning to run.

Gemini woke to the sound of knocking. She got up and went to the door, surprised to find Batman standing there. She was even more surprised to find that April had already answered the door. "What's going on?

"Lori's been kidnapped by ninjas. Cal and Martha are already after them, but Bruce came hare to get you as backup." April explained quickly.

"...I haven't spoken. How did you know that?" Bruce asked, bewildered.

April shrugged. "I don't know. I just...knew. But you really don't have time to figure it out, do you?" She said.

"Right, let's go." Gemini said, pulling her shoes on. "April, hold down the fort and let your father know what's going on if he wakes up."

"I'm coming." Huntress mumbled following along. "The van!" she raced after it wishing she could drive the bat mobile.

"Sure you are if you where a anti hero but your a villain." Huntress shrugged then leaped forth and grabbed the vans side swinging her legs into the drivers window holding on as the van careened out of control then came to a stop. "Let go of the lady!" she snarled dragging the ninja out letting out all her rage on the ninja.

Two ninjas leaped out at him leaving a very beaten up Lori in the van. ''Bruce?" she called weakly eyes flickering open. Huntress heard her mother and growled nearly killing the ninja before turning to help Cal.

Huntress checked Lori over tears appearing in her eyes. "It doesn't look good. Where is dad!?" she glanced around then looked at her mother who whimpered. "Hold on mom, dad will be here soon."

Right then, as if summoned, Batman appeared. "Let me see her." He said, moving past the children.

Gemini showed up seconds later, in a car. "Is it bad? I can get her to the hospital." She said.

"I'm going to find out what these guys were up to." Cal said, picking up one of the ninjas by the collar. The man was conscious enough to talk, and Cal was in the mood to beat some information out of him.

"Dad!" Martha sounded relieved to see him. Lori blinked up at him and gave him a half smile "hey." She went to move but gasped groaning. "Oh fu..." She spotted Martha. "Fudge." She settled with that. "It hurts but it didn't say anything thing though I am getting to old for this."

Bruce knelt down and picked Lori up very gently. "It's okay, love. You'll be fine. But next time, bring me to the store with you." He said.

Cal, meanwhile, was interrogating the ninja. "Who sent you? What were your orders?"

"Sounds good to me." Lori mumbled flinching when he picked her up. "I taste blue." She muttered before blacking out.

The man didn't answer just grinned and bite a little pill that was hidden in his mouth slowly dying for whatever it was.

Bruce muttered a swear as he brought Lori to Gemini's car and placed her in the back seat. "Get her to the hospital quickly. I'll meet you there as soon as I can." He said.

Instead of wasting time with words, Gemini gave him a thumbs-up and floored it.

Cal screamed and threw the man down. "It doesn't matter. I will find out who ordered this...and I'll make them sorry they ever crossed me." He already sounded like a villain.

Martha cringed away from Cal and gripped her father's hand. "She's going to be alright...right?" She looked up at him tears appearing in her eyes.

"Of course. There's no way I'll let anything happen. And neither will Gemini." Bruce said reassuringly. "Now come on, we need to change and get to the hospital. Are you coming, Cal?"

Cal was staring at his hands when Bruce spoke to him. He jumped slightly and looked up. "Huh? Oh, I...uh...maybe I should go home. I'm not...Lori wouldn't want me around." He said guiltily. He turned and ran, disappearing quickly.

Martha raced into the hospital only stopping when she reached Gemini. "Aunty! Hows mom?" she glanced into the room where her mother was.

Lori woke with a groan. "Bruce." she fought against the hands that held her down. "BRUCE!" A nurse hurried out panting a little. "We could use a little help."she glanced at them.

Gemini was pacing. "I don't know. She'll live, but-" She was cut off by the yelling. Before she could do anything, someone moved past her.

Bruce showed up right after Martha, just in time to hear the commotion. He walked straight past Gemini and into the room, swiftly going to Lori's side. He gently pushed her down. "Relax, Lori. I'm right here."

Lori's gaze meet him and she relaxed under his touch. "Bruce." she smiled at him finally letting the nurses finish up what thy where doing. They threw him grateful looks as they moved out of the room to let them talk.

Bruce pulled a chair up to the hospital bed and took Lori's hand. "This is a stupid question, but are you alright?" He asked her. "Did they...do you know what they were trying to accomplish?"
