They Outnumber Us Five To One
Heather stretched a bit and then sighed as she filled her mug with some tea and headed back into the living room. She knew Daemon was going to be heading out soon, so she wanted to be settled in by the time he was ready to leave. He would be out the door easier if he knew she was settled.
Elsewhere, Lucivar was also getting ready to head out. It was finally time to scout some new males for the group. |
Daemon made his way downstairs, setting his overnight bag by the door before going to go check on Heather again.
"Do you need anything else?" he asked, looking at her. Lily was on the couch with a book in hand, a mug of tea on the coffee table, and a tiger sprawled across her legs. Dejaal gave Lucivar something of a smug look and Lily smiled at him. "Ready to head out?" |
"I'm fine, Daemon," Heather said, settling on the couch. Kaelas was sprawled across the rug on the floor, upside-down and dozing. "Go on. I'll meet you there tomorrow."
"Yeah," Lucivar said, hefting his bag onto his shoulder. "You sure you're set, before I go?" |
"Alright." Daemon headed for the door. "I'll let you know what room I'm in once I've checked in."
"I'll be fine," Lily said with a tolerant little grin. "Really, you'll see me again tomorrow." |
"Alright," Heather said. She grinned a bit. "Have fun. Try not to scare anyone too badly. We want them to like us."
"Hey, just checking," Lucivar said, grinning. "I'll call once I have a room number." |
Daemon snorted. "I know," he agreed, a small smile twitching his lips. "I'll only scare off the ones I don't like."
"Sounds good. Try to be nice, Lu, no need to scare half the population. The half that your brother doesn't get to first." Lily grinned. She knew that he and Daemon would be at the same event, and would likely meet up. |
"Alright, I can live with that," Heather said with a little smile.
"No promises," Lucivar replied, smirking. "They scare that easy, we don't want them anyways." |
"Good." Daemon smiled a little. "I shall see you tomorrow, then." He knew that Kaelas would make sure she ate and rested, at least, until he could resume looking after her tomorrow.
"True," Lily conceded. "We'll have to wait and see how many brave souls try to approach you." She grinned. |
"Have fun," Heather said, smiling a bit. "I'll be there in the morning."
"I'll let you know when you get there," Lucivar said. He waved a bit and headed out. |
Daemon got to the hotel first and got his room before he texted Lucivar the room number. And thenhe relaxed for a bit.
|
Lucivar showed up a little while later, going in and dropping his bag next to the second bed.
"Prick," he greeted, flopping over. |
Daemon smirked faintly. "Had a good trip?" he asked mildly. He was sitting at the desk with a book, his boots off already.
|
"Good enough. Lily nearly pushed me out the door," Lucivar said, taking his own boots off. "You?"
|
"No problems," Daemon agreed. "I left before Heather had to push, though." He smirked.
|
"Heather's not the pushy type, though," Lucivar replied, with a bit of a grin. "Lily gets there a lot quicker."
|
"True." Daemon smirked. "Not that I blame her, considering who she is living with." He gave his half-brother a significant look, still smirking, because riling up Lucivar was one of his favorite pastimes.
|
Lucivar rolled his eyes.
"I blame the tiger and the wolf," he said. "Can't pin that one on me." |
Daemon chuckled quietly and stretched out a bit.
"Shall we go find some dinner?" he asked. "Or would you prefer to order in tonight?" |
"Order in," Lucivar said stretching out on the bed. "I just took my shoes off, I'm not putting them back on again right now."
|
Daemon chuckled but ordered food for them both, having already guessed what Lucivar would want.
"So what are you going to be looking for for Lily tomorrow?" He kept the question casual and a little vague, to give Lucivar a chance to think it over or answer only part of it as he liked. |
"She needs someone to entertain her," Lucivar said after a moment. "Or someone she can fuss over properly. No Alpha-personalities, though, not for a starting group." He glanced at his brother. "What about Heather?"
|
"Fairly similar," Daemon agreed. "No Alpha-personalities, someone who can fuss and let her fuss, someone who can keep her amused and busy." He quirked a faint smile. "Someone other than a giant cat."
|
Lucivar snorted.
"Yeah, no kidding," he said. "At least yours doesn't have the wolf, too. It's a wonder Lily gets space in her own bed, with those two around." |
Daemon smirked. "And I'm sure you've never thought about kicking them out and warming her bed yourself," he teased.
|
"Shut up," Lucivar retorted. "She's never shown the least bit of interest, and I don't mind that." He smirked. "Of course, I'm not as used to women throwing themselves at me as you are."
