"You did?" Jefferson asked. He grinned. "That's great, little bug. I'm sure dinner's going to be wonderful."

Grace grinned and just held on to him for a while. Mai smiled and headed back into the kitchen, giving them a few minutes.

Jefferson held her, content to let her cuddle for a bit. He doubted he would ever get tired of that.

Grace finally got down a while later and tugged him into the kitchen so they could check on dinner.

Jefferson grinned as he let her pull him into the kitchen.

"So what did you two decide on for dinner, little bug?" he asked her.

"Lasagna." Grace grinned. "And salad and bread." She leaned closer to him conspiratorially. "Mai's a pretty good cook."

Jefferson grinned.

"Is she better than us?" he asked in a stage-whisper.

"I dunno," Grace said thoughtfully. "She did make bread..."

Mai rolled her eyes at the two of them and pulled said bread from the oven, setting it off to the side to cool for a few minutes.

"We'll have to taste it and decide," Jeffersonn said to Grace with a grin. "Though the bread means she probably is better than us, we never did get the hang of it, did we, little bug?"

"Nuh uh. Still had to buy ours." Grace grinned and released all of him but his hand.

Mai rolled her eyes at them. "Five minutes and everything will be ready," she told them, getting the last things out of the fridge.

"Alright." Jefferson nudged Grace. "Go on and help set the table, little bug."

Grace let go of him and set the table, helping Mai get things over to the table.

Elsewhere, Lydia was sitting in the diner, working slowly on an espresso-spiked hot chocolate. She didn't want to sit alone in her apartment, but she didn't want to be out and about, either. The diner was the safest option, for the moment; it was public enough that she doubted anyone would try to bother her for her enchantment.

Hook was, once again, also at the diner, although he had real food this time, as well as his normal coffee. He was sitting off to the side by himself, just keeping an eye on things.

Lydia glanced around the diner every so often, and she happened to see him. She smiled and gave a bit of a wave when she caught his eye.

Hook blinked before he grinned at her. Aha, she was acknowledging him now. That was a pleasant surprise.

Lydia grinned back and took another sip of her drink. Hey, after he had defended her the other day, he deserved at least the greeting.

Hook debated going over to her, but decided that he probably didn't want the extra attention, especially in the diner, and instead settled for keeping an eye on things for her.

Lydia just sat there and occasionally glanced at him. She had to admit, he was really, really attractive. Idly, she wondered if he had anyone, and then blinked and turned a bit pink. Nope, she had no business wondering about that, none at all.

Hook noticed the little glances, and he couldn't help but smirk. The next time she looked at him, he caught her eye and tipped his drink to her in a small salute before taking a sip.

Lydia blinked at that and then looked down, blushing. She hadn't realized that he'd noticed her looking.

Hook just smirked and stayed where he was, clearly not offended or upset. Hey, if she wanted to look, he didn't mind.

That was about the point Granny noticed the exchange.

"Hey," she said sharply at Hook. She gave him a Look that clearly said she was keeping an eye on him.

Hook held up his hand in a clear motion of "I'm innocent" and shot her a charming smile, even though he knew it wouldn't work. He did it anyway.

Granny just narrowed her eyes slightly and turned back to her work. She would be keeping an eye on him, though; she didn't want anything to happen to any of her girls, and Lydia was one of her girls.
