"Yes," Steve said, before he could second-guess himself. "Just ask them to come up to this floor, please."

"Of course, Captain," Jarvis said. A message got sent to the two in question, asking them to go up to the higher floors.

Alissa got her message and frowned. Okay, that was weird. Her productivity hadn't gone down, just her mood and energy levels.

I just got some weird request to head up to one of the upper levels, she texted Taylor.

You too? That was strange. Taylor was only visiting the main branch for a week for training, so she was on a temporary workstation. Her main desk was in a side branch on the other end of the city. Who even knew she was there? Meet you upstairs, I guess.

Guess so. Alissa stood and grabbed her things, just in case, and headed to the nearest elevator. She punched in the correct floor, and was only a little surprise when the elevator stopped to let Taylor on, too.

"Guess we'll see what's going on," she muttered.

"Guess so," Taylor replied. She fidgeted a bit as the elevator moved.

Upstairs, Bucky was struggling not to pace around. As it was, he was connecting and disconnecting his arm, a nervous habit he'd developed at some point. What was taking so long?

Steve, on the other hand, was utterly still, and had fallen into an almost-parade rest. But he kept his eyes on the elevators, and he went tense when one 'ding'ed gently.

Alissa wasn't quite sure what she expected when the elevator doors open, but it sure as hell wasn't Steve and Bucky. She stopped, her eyes going wide.

Bucky clicked his arm back into place just as the elevator sounded. He went and stood next to Steve, still fidgeting a bit.

Taylor stopped dead as the doors opened, and she gasped softly, one hand going to cover her mouth a bit. She found herself tearing up slightly, and couldn't seem to help it.

Steve broke the silence first. "Taylor," he said quietly. "It's been a while." He held out a hand to her, hopeful, oh so hopeful.

Alissa took her time taking in all the details. She noticed the arm and actually swallowed, because holy shit.

"Oh my god, Steve," Taylor breathed. She reached out and took his hand, not altogether sure she wasn't just hallucinating or something.

"Hey, Alissa," Bucky said, grinning a bit. "Sorry I took so long. Had to come the long way."

"Took you long enough," Steve teased gently with a little grin, pulling her in closer, but slowly, giving her time to object.

"Yeah, guess so," Alissa said, looking him over. "You... remembered. You asked me here."

Taylor immediately cuddled closer to him.

"I'm sorry you had to wait so long," she said. "I was afraid you'd forgotten."

"Well, sort of," Bucky said, looking a bit sheepish. "The cyber butler sent you the message. But I'd never forget you."

"Never," Steve said, pulling her in closer. "I would never forget you, Tay."

Alissa smiled at that and walked up to him, reaching out hesitant fingers to his metal arm. "Doesn't matter, you still paged me."

Taylor cuddled close to him.

"I missed you," she murmured.

"Sorry it took so long," Bucky said. "Got pulled on a mission at exactly the wrong time." He held out his good hand to her in invitation.

"I missed you too." Steve pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "I remembered the year you said you were from. For a while it was so far away, and then the past few years have been hard, because we were so close." He smiled.

"Yeah, guess that's still a thing that happens," Alissa said, taking his hand. "I understand, it's fine. I... wasn't sure if I'd hear from you."

"What happened in between?" Taylor asked, almost afraid of what the answer might be.

"When have I ever given you reason to doubt me?" Bucky asked, pulling her a bit closer.

"Work," Steve said with a bit of a grin. "Working for the Army, then SHIELD. Some government work. Traveling all over the world, talking to a lot of people. Buck and I both."

"You haven't, but I mean, that was seventy years," Alissa pointed out reasonably, though she did tuck herself in closer to him. "That's a long time to wait."

"So there was no plane in the Arctic?" Taylor asked cautiously.

"No matter anything else from the last seventy years, you've always been my number one girl," Bucky said, putting his good arm around her. He was being careful with his metal one for the moment, unsure of how she would react to it.

Steve blinked. "Well, there have been one or two for missions," he said cautiously. "But from the way you asked that, I'm guessing that's not what you meant."

Alissa smiled at that and internally melted a little. "I know it's only been like a month for me but I missed you," she admitted. She noticed he was being too careful with his metal arm, but she'd figure out what to do about that in a minute.

Taylor shook her head a bit.

"The history I remember had you frozen in the Arctic for that seventy-year stretch of time," she said. "Obviously, that's not the right history anymore."

"Didn't mean to take so long," Bucky said. He was quiet for a moment. "There's a thing or two we need to discuss, but it can wait a little bit."

"No," Steve said, frowning a bit. "That never happened. I've been active this whole time."

"Yeah," Alissa agreed. "Since I think a few things changed from what I remember, so that's going to take a bit of getting used to."

"That's incredible," Taylor said, grinning a bit. "I want to hear all about it."

"Like I said, it can wait a bit," Bucky said. Though he made a mental note to bring it up again soon. Alissa really did need to know about the situation with Katherine.

"Later," Steve said with a grin. "We've got time now, after all."

"Right." Alissa leaned into him a bit, reaching over to run her fingers along the metal arm. That hadn't changed, interestingly enough.

Taylor grinned a bit.

"Good," she said. "Now get down here so I can kiss you." She tugged on his collar just a little.

"Yeah, sorry, I know I'm missing a piece," Bucky said. "That was a particularly rough mission."

"Yes ma'am." Steve grinned and leaned down, kissing her, his arm snug around her waist.

"Yeah, no, that's not such a surprise to me," Alissa said with a shrug. "This I was expecting." Although she hadn't realized just how attractive she would find him with the metal arm.
