Bucky returned the kiss.

"Go ahead and eat," he said, grinning. "Let me know if you like it."

Alissa started on her burger, and she blinked and made an appreciative noise.

"Oh god that's good," she muttered.

Bucky grinned.

"Good," he said. "I'll make them more often, then."

"Sugar, you can make these whenever you want," Alissa said, shaking her head. "Jeeze, you just pulled this out of your fridge?"

"I was planning to use the beef anyways, it just needed to be thawed," Bucky admitted. "It ended up being burgers."

Alissa chuckled and shook her head. "Alright, I have to admit, you're better at this than I thought you would be," she said with a little grin.

"I've had a long time to learn," Bucky said, giving her that easy grin he knew she liked.

Alissa shook her head, although she was smiling.

"You are a shameless flirt, James Barnes," she said, grinning at him. "And if you ever change that I will be very disappointed."

"I haven't yet," Bucky said, grinning. He leaned in and kissed her. "I don't plan to change now."

"Good." Alissa kissed him once more quickly before going back to her dinner, because she was hungry and he was pretty good at making burgers.

A few days later, Taylor found herself pacing around the apartment, a bit nervously. Steve had mentioned he wanted to introduce her to the rest of the team, and that was definitely a bit of a daunting prospect. After all, it wasn't every day that normal people got to meet the Avengers.

Around the block, Bucky was trying to get Steve out the door.

"Come on, Stevie," he said. "I promise you, they live real close. Literally around the corner."

Steve huffed. "Walked Alissa home already?" he asked, though he was looking a bit nervous himself. He loved Taylor, and he wanted the rest of the team to like her, too.

Alissa was sitting curled up in a chair with a new cookbook, although she hadn't turned a page in several minutes.

"We'll be okay, I mean, we're just meeting them, it's not like we have to stay for long." She paused. "Besides, we already conquered the 40's, this'll be a breeze."

"Yeah," Bucky replied. "Come on, quit futzing around and let's go. You know she's not going to care how you're dressed."

"The 40s didn't have more assassins and a god," Taylor pointed out, fidgeting a bit.

Steve huffed. "When did you get so pushy?" he asked, though he did head for the door so they could get going.

"I'm... trying not to think of it that way," Alissa said with a little grimace.

"Looking after you all our lives," Bucky replied, grinning. He tilted his head towards the next street over. "Come on, this way."

Taylor bit her lip a little and toyed with the hem of her shirt. She was definitely nervous about meeting the rest of the Avengers.

Steve blinked when he realized that the girls' apartment was literally a block and a half away.

"This is nuts," he muttered. "How the hell did you get so lucky?"

Alissa forced herself to go through the cookbook again, just so she was thinking about something other than the imminent meeting.

"No idea," Bucky said, grinning. "But we got really lucky." He led Steve to one of the buildings. "This one."

Steve nodded and headed up the steps, glancing at Bucky to confirm which door, before he knocked.

Alissa jumped a little at the knock and swallowed, setting her book aside.

Taylor jumped as well, and since she was closer to the door, she went to open it. When she saw Steve, she smiled.

"Hey," she said.

"Hey." Steve smiled, holding out a hand for her. "Just about ready to go?"

Alissa grinned at the two, because they were still way too adorable, and grabbed her purse.

"As ready as I'll ever be," Taylor said, reaching out and taking his hand.

Bucky looked over Steve's shoulder and grinned at Alissa.

"Ready?" he asked her.

Steve nodded, gently tugging her closer. "Don't worry too much," he told her with a little grin.

"Yup. Going to meet two spysassins, two geniuses, one of whom turns into a giant green rage monster, and a legit god. 'Course I'm ready for this." Alissa grinned, a bit too bright, too much nervous energy keeping her bouncing a little on her toes.

"It's hard not to be nervous," Taylor said, cuddling into his side a bit. "It's not every day normal people get to meet the Avengers."

"It'll be fine," Bucky said, muscling past Steve to get to Alissa. "You'll like Clint, at least, I promise. You'll both get along. You'll get used to them."

Steve shot Bucky a bit of a look for that but was happy to keep his arms around Taylor.

"Well, I wouldn't exactly call you normal anymore," he said with a bit of a grin. "Not many people time travel, either."

"Get used to them?" Alissa's eyebrows jumped up her forehead. "You make it sound as though they're the weird in-laws that hang around every holiday."

"I still feel normal enough," Taylor said. She nudged him. "Let's go before I lose my nerve and try to hide in my room again."

"They kind of are," Bucky said, snickering. "Or I guess Stevie and I are more like the weird in-laws. But still. You'll have fun."
