"Only for about seventy years," Bucky teased back. He leaned over and gave her a quick kiss.
"I'm perfectly capable of carrying my own bag," Taylor protested, although she was grinning. |
Alissa grinned. "Well, guess now you can show me all the things you've been waiting to."
"Oh, I know," Steve said. "But I could carry you and the bag." He shot her a teasing grin. |
"That's the plan," Bucky replied, grinning. He snagged a lick of her ice cream, and then put an arm around her waist. "Coincidentally, there's a shooting competition in a few weeks that I registered for, if you want to go with me."
Taylor grinned, turning a bit pink. "Now you're just showing off," she said. |
That made her laugh a bit. "Oh, so you can show off for me?" she teased. "Alright, sure, why not? Should be fun to watch you flounce the other people."
"I'm allowed once in a while," Steve said with a grin, following her up to the apartment. |
"Good," Bucky said, grinning. "I've been looking for a chance to show off." He shot her a teasing look.
Taylor rolled her eyes a bit and unlocked the door, holding it open for him. |
Alissa laughed quietly and offered him her ice cream again. She was willing to share. For now.
Steve smiled as he moved inside. "Go ahead and get ready, I can entertain myself for a while." |
Bucky took another lick of the ice cream, and then left the rest to her.
Taylor grinned a bit and headed into her room to pack a bag. She came back out a few minutes later, carrying an overnight bag with her. |
Alissa grinned and ate the rest of the ice cream. "This is really good stuff," she said. "I'll be going back there soon."
"You look like you're set," Steve said from his spot on the couch. |
"Like I said, it's all handmade," Bucky replied. "Not sure how they do it, but it's way better than anything else I've ever found."
"I'm good for a weekend or so," Taylor said. She grinned teasingly. "Comfortable?" |
"Handmade with love," Alissa said with a shrug. "It makes a difference."
"Surprisingly so," Steve said with a grin. "Although I could be more comfortable." |
"With love?" Bucky echoed, glancing at her. He grinned teasingly. "Crushing on Cody for his ice cream?"
"If I sit down with you, Steve, we're not going to get back up," Taylor warned him. "And you offered to take me out for the weekend." |
Alissa smacked his arm. "Fine, see if I make you any baked goodies with love so you can taste the difference," she said with an indignant sniff.
Steve laughed and got up. "Guess we better get going then, before I'm too tempted." |
Bucky snickered.
"Aww, you know I'm teasing you," he said. "Good idea," Taylor replied with a small grin. "Come on, you promised me a weekend date." |
Alissa shook her head, though she was grinning. "Because you're incorrigible."
Steve got up and held out a hand for her bag. He'd need to secure it to the bike anyway. |
"You wouldn't want it any other way," Bucky pointed out, kissing her cheek. "C'mon, admit it."
Taylor handed over her bag. She knew when she wasn't going to win an argument, most of the time, and she definitely wasn't going to win this one. "So where are we headed, exactly?" she asked. |
Alissa shook her head, amused. "You would be much less entertaining if you weren't incorrigible," she admitted.
"Out of the city." Steve grinned as he led the way back down to the bike. He secured her bag first and then got on again, giving her a few moments. |
"I live to serve," Bucky said. He tightened his arm around her waist a bit, pulling her close. "So, where else would you like me to take you today? There's still plenty of time."
"That doesn't tell me anything," Taylor replied as she got onto the bike. |
"I'm not sure if there's anywhere else I want to go. I've had ice cream, so there's nothing else immediately pressing." Alissa shrugged a bit.
"I know." Steve shot her a shit-eating grin and started driving as soon as she was secure. |
"Well, then, we can always just walk for a bit," Bucky suggested.
"You're terrible," Taylor said as she held on to him. |
"That's fine with me." Alissa finished her ice cream and tossed the trash, content to just walk with him for a bit.
"I do try." Steve kept the speeds reasonable until they were out of the city. Then he sped up, heading down the highway. |
Bucky grinned and just walked with her, one arm around her. For the moment, life was good.
Taylor tightened her grip on him when he suddenly sped up on the highway. Although, to be honest, he was really, really nice to hug like that, she needed to find more excuses to do it. |
It didn't take long for them to get to the spot Steve had in mind. It was quiet little bed and breakfast out of the way a few miles off the highway.
"Welcome back," the owner said, smiling at them. "Ricki is working on dinner, if you're staying." "We are," Steve said with a grin, putting an arm around Taylor. |
"Sounds like you come here a lot," Taylor commented as Steve took her bag to a room.
|
"Off and on through the years. It's nice. They're good people, it's quiet out here. Good place to rest a bit from the city and the politics and the wars." Steve smiled a little, setting her things down on the bed.
|
"And a good quiet place is always something to hold on to," Taylor said, nodding. She sat down on the bed, moving her bag to the floor. Then she flopped backwards with a sigh. "Its' nice, though."
