"Yes and yes, so good thought. Plus I can run in these if anything happens." Jackie reached over and knocked on the doorframe, since it was wood.
Cat did the same thing.
"Well, now you're set for coffee with him," she said. She grinned. "Have fun~!" |
"Thanks." Jackie grinned. "I'll let you know how it goes." She hugged Cat briefly before snagging her purse and heading out.
"I'll keep my phone next to me, just in case," Cat said. She settled in once Jackie left.
It didn't take Jackie long to get to the coffee place, and then she glanced around for Clint, in case he was already there.
Clint walked in just after Jackie did.
"Hey," he said, grinning. "Didn't mean to keep you waiting, had to dodge a few people to get out of the tower." |
"No problem, I just got here myself," Jackie said with a smile. "Had to make myself look less like a zombie."
"Hey, like I said, zombies are cool," Clint said. He grinned. "So, coffee?"
"Coffee is good," Jackie agreed. "You normally go for regular coffee or coffee creation? Because if you look at me funny for getting funky sugary coffee creations, this may not work." She made a vague motion between the two of them.
Clint snorted.
"You kidding me?" he said. "You should see the frilly shit Tony gets when he's not in the tower. There's no way you could be worse than him." |
"Oh good." Jackie grinned. "I won't feel like I need to hold back, then."
"If you feel like you need to hold back with me, we're not doing something right," Clint pointed out, grinning a bit.
"Cut me some slack here, things don't just fall into place automatically with soulmates," Jackie pointed out with a reasonable little shrug. Then she grinned. "I have to give you smaller doses of my awesome at first."
Clint snickered.
"Oh yeah, you and I are going to get along just fine," he said, nodding. |
Jackie grinned at that and ordered something caramel and sugar and whipped cream, grinning. Because she wanted to.
Clint ended up ordering a turbo coffee with coconut, almond, and mocha flavors in it.
"This is the best stuff," he commented as he found them a suitable table. |
Jackie grinned. "I may try to steal a sip," she told him, settling in her seat. "Maybe. We'll see. Or maybe I'll just trade you the last bits."
"We might be able to work out some sort of trade," Clint agreed, grinning a bit.
Jackie grinned a bit and looked over when they called her drink, fetching it and settling back at the table. "Sugary caffeinated goodness," she said with a grin.
"Good to know you have good taste," Clint said, grinning. "I don't know how people drink the stuff straight when there's all these good flavors out there." Not that he didn't drink straight black coffee, when there was no other option, but when he had the choice, he frilled it up.
"Ugh, no, black coffee is gross. The least I can do is coffee with cream. Good cream, not just milk." Jackie made a face.
Clint snickered.
"It's an acquired taste," he said. "Stark drinks it strong enough to strip paint, I swear." |
"Ugh." Jackie shuddered. "No thank you. I will take well-creamed coffee over that any day."
Clint snickered and took a drink of his coffee. He sighed. "Ahhh yes. Almond Joy coffee."
Jackie grinned. "My favorite candy bar. Well, it ties with Reese's, actually."
